` sharp edges.
featuring @mphades and kim jongin,
on days where schedules did not demand him to be in specific places, one of jongin’s favourite ways to spend his nights was loitering around in parks. something about the delightful smell of wood, the sound of leaves rustling against one another was oddly refreshing. sure, the temperatures were dropping as the months advance towards the year’s denouement, but that didn’t stop him from going on his late night adventures. tonight, he chooses not to go too far, heading towards a patch of grass that allowed a clear vision of the stars above him. they shone more beautiful than ever, and that in itself was enough to relax the loud thoughts that ruled over his mind.
as he approached the terrain, he noticed a sombre shadow nearby, the shadow belonging to an unknown body. something about the silhouette radiated mystery and darkness, an aura he’s felt before. as curious steps brought him closer towards the foreign person, the moon’s rays were enough for jongin to capture an image of the individual’s features. sharp, prominent cheekbones, eyes that conveyed a thousand words, dark locks that crowned his visage. he’s felt this way before, his own father radiating the same energy. it took a couple of minutes for the gears in his mind to turn. thanatos, his father, was known to work with none other than the god of the underworld himself, hades. he’s somewhat frozen in his steps, legs unwilling to respond to the orders the male sent them. could this actually be him, could this really be one of the most intimidating gods standing in front of him? he finds it hard to believe, and yet rather than waiting around for an answer to be hushed in his ear, he trusts his instinct. rare were those who radiated such a powerful aura, he tells himself, so there were only small chances he could be wrong, or so he hopes.
finally, jongin musters up the courage to address the latter, eyes shining with admiration. “excuse me,” he begins, hesitation loud and clear in his voice. “i may be completely wrong but… are you hades?” his words are clumsy, almost annoying when he hears himself in his head, and yet there was no better way to ask such a question.
