The men and women who are sources for emulation (I know of at least one female ayatollah), are greater than us, I can’t imagine any one of us can supersede them in knowledge, akhlaq, or in patience towards understanding Islam.
You cannot supercede them in knowledge, but you have never put other scholars under house arrest like Khamenei. Khamenei is a criminal who preaches an ideology who was disproved by every single other marja at the time of its proclamation and he has put the other grand scholars under house arrest. You are either for oppression or against it. I challenge anyone who loves Khamenei to go to Khojaly and explain to the Shia who were massacred by kuffar with Iranian money why they have dead children. Or you can go to Sayyid Rohani and talk to him about why he achieved ijtihad at 14 and became the greatest scholar of his time buy he is not allowed to leave Iran. Or you can go talk to all the Shirazi supporters who were beaten and thrown in prison and talk to them about Khamenei. I know for a fact that I supercede Khamenei in understanding of Islam because I can confidently say in this moment that there is not a single drop of blood on my hands. I can confidently say that I have never oppressed a scholar.
