no one knows the real bakugou, the side that only you get to see. they don’t get to see him in the mornings, cuddled up into your neck and holding you tightly as if you’re gonna disappear from his arms. they don’t see the way his eyes soften when you come into his work, bringing him the lunch he forgot to grab from the fridge this morning. they don’t see the way he jumps you when he comes home, needy for cuddles and kisses. or when he picks up your favorite flowers and fruit on his way home from work. or when he jumps out of joy and excitement when he finds out you’re pregnant, and hes gonna be a dad.

you show up to katsuki’s door, and jump into his arms and start crying. he catches you of course, trying not to freak out because he doesnt know why you’re crying. he stood in complete shock before speaking up.

“b-baby? whats wrong are you hurt?”

you sniffled before replying

“i- just-“

you couldnt finish your sentence before breaking down into tears again. at this point, bakugou was feeling a swirl of emotions. concerned, sad, upset. he didnt know what was wrong, but he knew you needed him. he walked you two over to his room and laid down, with your head on his chest and your legs interwined.

he rubbed circles on your back, and whispered reassuring things into your ear, giving you time to calm down enough to where you could talk with him and tell him whats wrong.

you sniffled before speaking. you went on and on about how hard things have been for you, how uncomfortable you feel in your own home, how you can no longer tell if its really “that bad” or if you’re just overreacting because you’ve gotten so used to this. how you’ve grown..numb to it all. you told him everything and he listened very keenly. you could tell he was getting upset too, you could feel his mucles tensing up underneath you.

“i am gonna try to not let my anger show right now because thats not what you need, but dont you fucking dare say you’re over reacting. i know that it’ll be hard to convince you that you’re not, but please trust and listen to me angel. everything you’re going through may seem normal to you now but you don’t deserve to be in a situation like this and it is not normal. you can’t even be who you really are because you’re afraid of what the outcome is. thats not normal baby.”

he took a second to readjust you, so he was sitting up against the head board and you’re straddling his lap, facing him. he wiped the drying tears of your face and laced his fingers with yours before continuing.

“all your feelings towards this are valid, 100% valid. you feeling numb is because you’re used to this routine where.. people constantly invalidate you and your feelings. which means you’re gonna let those feelings build up until one day you wont be able to handle it anymore and thats not healthy, angel. you dont deserve to be in this situation angel and ill do everything i can to get you out of there, okay? you know i would love for you to move in with me so i could just... protect you from it all. but please believe me when i say that you’re not overreacting and that what you feel is real, its all real my love. all of it”

he pulled you in for a tight hug, putting his face in the crook of your neck to inhale your light scent. he began to kiss lightly, from your neck sll the way up to your cheeks to your lips, which made you giggle at the sensation.

he felt himself relax at hearing you laugh, and move back enough so he could see your whole face. even with puffy eyes and dried tears on your face, he thought you were the most ethereal being in the universe. nothing would ever change his mind about his precious angel.

he lifted a hand to caress your face, his thumb rubbing soft circles into your cheek.

“nervous, angel?”

you looked over to meet mikasa’s eyes, seeing a glint of playfulness in them. she looked beyond ethereal. her hair slightly messed up from the makeout session you guys had prior to getting in the car, the silk red button down that accents her pale skin just right, a gold cross necklace that sits just below her collarbone. to top it all off, her fingers were adorned with rings, including your matching promise ring.

“no.. i trust you”

“good. i wouldn’t let you drive with me if i didn’t think you’d be safe”

you felt your face heating up and turned away to face the window. mikasa let out a soft laugh before grabbing your hand and placing a kiss on it.

“don’t get shy on me now, baby. im just telling the truth”

she put a hand on the right side of your head and gently pushed your head closer to her. she kissed the top of your head before going down to your ear.

“i would never let anything happen to my angel.”

you finally looked back up at her and saw that she was being serious but you couldn’t help but grab her shirt and pull her in for a kiss. you could feel mikasa smiling as she put her hands on your waist as a means to get you as close as possible. she rubbed small circles on your tummy as you gently pulled her hair and deepened the kiss. your mini makeout session was brought to a halt when you heard a car honk.

“cmon now is not the time to suck each other’s faces off”

bakugou loves to hold you close to him, no matter if its just a little hug or you’re lying down in bed, cuddling each other to sleep. it makes him feel safe for some reason and he’s always done it, since the day you started dating. it was second nature for him to come home and give you the biggest hug, loving the way he could feel you giggle against his chest and nuzzle into him more. so when he came home from work that day, he was expecting to do the same. he saw you cutting some fruit in the kitchen and immediately wrapped his arms around you from behind and gave you a little squeeze. what he managed to forget was that this was your 3rd day back home after spending almost a week in the hospital, recovering from a fight that had left you with fractured rib bones and bruises everywhere. he felt you jump before you let out a string of “ow’s” which made him let go as soon as he remembered your injuries.

“im so sorry baby i completely forgot, today was just so busy and-“

you turned around and cut him off with a kiss, feeling him relax as you pulled him close to you by his waist softly.

“i know you didnt mean to katsuki its okay”

you lifted your hand to his face to softly caress it, and gave him a small smile. you could tell he still felt bad, but he smiled back at you.

shiggy felt two soft taps on his left arm before he let out a “hm” to let you know he was listening. had he looked over at you, he would’ve seen how sleepy you were, your body language being a dead giveaway. your eyes were getting droopy, you were slightly slumped over and you were really on the verge of falling asleep right then and there.

“can you come cuddle with me baby? im getting sleepy”

shiggy didn’t look away from the screen and just responded with “no, im still playing.”

you were too tired to try and convince him, but you couldn’t say the lack of attention didn’t hurt. you made your way back to the bed you share with shiggy, laying right next to a hoodie he’d just worn earlier. you gathered it in your arms and laid on it, the scent of him still there. you fell asleep within a few minutes, and shiggy continued to play for another hour.

when he finally took a break to look back at you, his heart broke a little at the sight. you were cuddling his hoodie in your arms, one leg was bended up a lil and you looked so peaceful and beautiful at the same time. he felt.. bad? he didn’t really know why, but something about seeing you lay with his hoodie made him feel something. you really wanted to cuddle, huh? he thought to himself

he shut down the game before making his way over to you. carefully slipping into bed, he threw the hoodie that was in his spot onto the floor. he moved you so you were basically laying on him, your head on his chest, one leg over his hip with his hand on your thigh rubbing soft circles on it. you cuddled into him even more and he could feel himself melt by every passing second.

the feeling of his cold hands on you made you jump. you whined unconsciously which made shigaraki pull you closer into him and shush you softly.

“shh it’s just me doll. im here”

hearing his voice, he felt you immediately relax into him and he found himself smiling at how precious you are.

at first, bakugou didn’t care. all that mattered to him was that you were safe. you are alive, and you are safe and to him that’s more than enough. but then he begin to notice changes in you, both physically and as a person.

you’ve become very quiet, and unresponsive. he would clearly call out your name while you were in the same room as him and it was like he never said a word. you would stare off into space constantly, you’re drifting to who-knows-where. you spoke very little and only when needed, which was something that was unusual for you. two weeks had past since the accident, and this was when bakugou really started to worry. your skin had grown these patches of skin the color of obsidian, and a texture unlike one he’s felt before. your eye color shifted from its natural color to a radiant purple almost overnight. he even noticed you were growing little horns on your head, similar to those of eri’s. along with these physical changes came personal ones as well. your sleep schedule shifted drastically, with you only sleeping about 3 hours per day (as in during the day) and you began to do unnecessary tasks. he found you sitting on the kitchen floor unwrapping all the cheese slices for no reason. sometimes, you’ll go up to the bookshelf in the living room and take out all the books on a shelf just to put them right back.

he tried to accommodate to the changes, but he was growing extremely worried. bakugou spent nights awake, searching your symptoms and trying to find some logical reason but nothing came up. he was at a complete loss. he didnt know what was going on in that head of yours, and he didn’t know how to help, he just wanted his angel back.

bakugou was sitting in the living room after an all-nighter when he finally broke down. you had just sat down in the corner of the room when tears started falling from his eyes. he was just so... confused. it’s felt like forever since he got to see your smile, your laugh, and the way your body fits perfectly with his. he didn’t realize he was crying loudly till he saw through blurry eyes your figure in front of him. you crouched down to be eye-level in front of him, holding his face with your hands.

bakugou took a deep breath, before looking you in the eyes.

“a-angel?”

you tilted your head to the side slightly before replying to him.

“get over here dumbass you were gone for too long”

you walked over to him and sat on his lap, embracing him in a hug. your head was in his neck and you could smell the light scent of caramel coming from him. his arms wrapped around your waist and you felt his body relaxed.

after a bit, you lifted your head from under his chin and he grunted in disapproval. your hands made their way to the sides of his face, caressing his cheeks softly.

“so i got a text from midoriya and kirishima. why were you so grumpy today hm?”

you were fully aware of why he was mad, you just liked to poke fun at him.

“tch, shut up dumbass”

it was 11:53 pm. usually, keigo was home by now, his head in your lap and with you running your fingers through his hair while he tells about his day of hero work. he was always home by 8 so that he had enough time with you after.

you texted his phone multiple times, but got no answer in return. you couldn’t help but think the worst.

“he always answers my texts.. what if something happened to him?”

you started tearing up at the idea. he was the love of your life, someone you cherished so deeply. he made you feel like the center of the world. he made you feel understood. he knew how to make everything feel okay even when things weren’t.

warm, salty tears slid down your cheeks as the thoughts overwhelmed you. what would you do without him?

you were too busy in your thoughts to hear keigo unlock and open the door swiftly.

“hey baby i- baby what’s wrong?”

you turned your head quickly in shock, and once your eyes met his you jumped into his arms faster than ever before. you wrapped your arms and legs around him, and buried your face into his neck. in return, he put his hands under your legs to make sure you wouldn’t fall and sat down on the couch where you were previously sitting.

“angel what’s wrong?”

you could feel keigo rubbing small circles onto your back to try and comfort you. you took in his scent one more time, making sure he was really there and not just a figment on your imagination.

“i thought something happened to you... you didn’t come home and you didn’t answer my texts so i just thought the worst, you know?”

you lifted your head from his neck to meet his soft, yellow eyes. his hand came up to wipe away the tears staining your cheeks, and then caressed your face softly.

“i’m sorry angel, there was a really bad accident downtown and i got caught up in trying to help everyone get out i didn’t even notice the time. i flew right over here as soon as i was able to get out of there. i’m so sorry for worrying you my love”

your heart swelled at the pet names he was calling you. you could tell he was genuine, the look in his eyes was filled with nothing but love and adoration. even with tear marks on your face and a runny nose, he thought you were the most ethereal thing in this world.

“don’t be sorry keigo, its your job! i just got to overthinking is all..”

“look at me baby”

his hand gently tilted your chin up, allowing you to make eye contact with him again.

“i’m never gonna leave you okay? i’m always gonna come back from this crazy missions and i’m always gonna be by your side at the end of the day. i promise you, you’re stuck with me for life my love.”

you let out a giggle at the last part before laying your head against his chest. you could feel the warmth radiate off of him, his arms coming to wrap around your waist once again like a blanket.

you felt warm, safe, at home. you felt loved.

you smiled to yourself before replying,

you guys met at u.a, you were sitting behind him in class and you noticed the romance manga in his backpack. you were excited that someone else was reading it too, so you decided to talk to him!

“hey bakugou, are you reading (insert your favorite romance manga here) too? i love it so far!”

this caught him off guard, and since he didn’t wanna be teased by anyone he replies with “what?? leave me alone you damn nerd.”

after that, you didn’t really talk to him because you felt that he didn’t like you.

he felt bad for being mean to you, so when he saw you alone in the common room he decided to talk to you

“.. what chapter are u on?” “wait what” “i said what chapter are u on in the manga damnit”

you guys spent the rest of the day talking about different mangas and different pairings. you both enjoyed the convo so much, you guys naturally ended up talking more and more.

and now you’re best friends! (dont tell bakugou that though, he’ll deny it)

he’s developed a soft spot for you (he’ll deny this too)

he just felt.. different with you. comfy? safe? he could be himself and he liked that

he was protective of you, especially around mineta. he would not hesitate to kick the tiny grape 6 feet if you asked

but he knew u could protect yourself too, and he admired that about you.

you guys found out you work incredibly well together during training activities. once the other students see you guys high five, they know its a wrap

mr. aizawa will sometimes make you guys work with other people and you have to physically restrain bakugou from telling the teacher off

he’ll help you study... kinda. he uses your study sessions as an excuse to talk to u about more romance mangas, not that you minded

one time you found his baby pictures on top of his desk and thats the first time he’s considered kicking your ass

“awww katsuki you were so cute! i wonder what happened...” “alright thats it you damn nerd-“

he didn’t actually put his hands on you but he DID give you some wrong answers for the test you were studying for

“katsuki you told me this was right” “and you told me im ugly. i guess we all lie right?”

being friends with bakugou means you’re also part of bakusquad by default.

bakugou threatened the boys that if they ever tried anything with you, he would literally hurt them. he knew they weren’t like that though so he wasn’t too worried.

one time you all were doing arm wrestling matches and you managed to win against EVERYONE. the boys were in shock besides bakugou who was smirking with his arms crossed.
