✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
As the elevator doors opened, I released a heavy breath, "I hope whatever Barry is doing is important enough to miss our morning coffee run." Joe chuckles beside me as we exit the elevator, "Please don't kill him, he's the only son I have." I smile, shrugging my shoulders, "I make no promises." As we walk down the hall towards the cortex, I can hear voices. Joe and I turn the corner, and time seems to stand still.
Joe grabs his gun, shooting at a man standing behind Barry, and a spread of cold chills flows throughout my body as I drop the coffee in my hands when I look into his eyes. Those eyes I've tried so hard to forget. Barry grabs the bullets, turning to Joe. "Joe! Put the gun down!" The Detective walks around the center console, towards Wells. "How is he still alive? How are you still alive?"
"I don't know, because you missed?" Wells spoke sarcastically, Barry scoffed, "Hey, I'm trying to keep him from shooting you. You're not helping." Barry looks over Joe's shoulder, gaze landing on my still frozen figure. He pulls Joe, walking towards me, lightly placing a hand on my arm. "Hey, let's take a walk, all right?" I nod slowly, taking one last glance at the man before turning and walking out of the room.
I leaned onto the wall as Barry and Joe conversed, "I know that this is a lot to take in, but that guy back in that room, that's not Wells." Joe shakes his head, "Dr. McGee swore she saw Wells. He broke into Mercury Labs." Barry exclaims, "What? Why didn't you tell me this?" Joe shrugs, "Because I didn't believe her. I didn't even want to consider that Wells was alive." Barry steps forward, "Eddie erased that Wells from existence. This guy is--he's someone else, and he says he's here to help us stop Zoom."
Joe sneers, "How can you even look at him?" Barry turns and raises a hand towards the end of the hall, "You think this is easy for me? The guy in there looks, moves, sounds exactly like the guy who drove a knife through our mother's heart. I have to resist the urge to kill him. I'm trying my best to get past that, okay? You shooting him--that's not helping." Joe shakes his head, glancing at me from over Barry's shoulder, "After all our losses, I thought at least we were free of Wells."
He inhales, "I just want one week where we're not surprised by somebody from our past. I'd better go fill in Iris." Joe walks away, and Barry wishes him luck before turning to me, "Hey." He stands in front of me, placing his hands on my crossed arms. "I know, this is a lot harder for you than it is for me. And I understand if you can't be here right now. I won't be mad if you need to leave with Joe." I lift my teary gaze to meet his, "I don't know how to feel. I know it's not him, but he looks just like him. There's not a discernible feature to tell them apart."
Barry sighs, "I know. But you're not alone in this. Y/N, I know our experiences with him can't really be compared to yours. But I promise. I won't let him hurt you again." I nod, Barry smiles sadly, and wraps his arms around me, "I love you, Y/N. Always." I tighten my grip around his waist, "I love you, Barry. Forever."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"You do realize that when I said I wanted a drink, I didn't mean a latte, right? I was talking about alcohol. Like mind-numbing alcohol." Barry wraps his arm around Cisco as the three of us stand in line. "Alright, look, you got to give him a chance, okay? He's not a speedster. He's just a regular, normal guy from another universe." Cisco mutters, "I never thought I'd miss time travel."
"Time travel, huh?" The three of us turn at the new voice, Barry laughing nervously, "Hey! Are you kidding?" Patty chuckles, "Hey. Is there a meta-human who can time-travel?" She asks, looking between the three of us. Barry shakes his head, "Time--no. Time travel's not real." Patty shifts on her feet, "Oh, 'cause that would be pretty cool!" Cisco chuckles nervously and mutters. "Not so sure about that." Barry points at Cisco, "Patty, you know Cisco Ramon, right?"
"Yeah, you're the scientific advisor on meta-humans to the CCPD, right?" Cisco nods, "Yeah, that's me." She smiles and turns back to Barry, "Hey, Barr, did you hear I was right about King Shark?" Cisco smiles brightly, "King Shark? Nice name. I like her." She nods, "Yeah, yeah, King Shark almost ate The Flash." I lift my head and snap it in Barry's direction, brows furrowed. "Oh, nah, I'm sure The Flash had it handled." Cisco nods in a sure-you-did manner. Patty shakes her head, "Oh, no, I was there. I saw it all. Some hooded guy saved his life."
I lower my head again, turning my gaze to the patterns in the tiled floor. "Wait, and you're not, like, traumatized or anything?" Cisco questions with the shake of his head. "I just watched a half-man, half-shark take on the fastest man alive." She laughs, "I love this city."
The conversation continues, drifting on about the man-shark. I tuned it out; all I could think about was the man back at S.T.A.R. Labs, the man I spent months crying over. The man who broke my heart and stabbed my mother in hers. How in the world was I just supposed to be okay with working beside him, with being near him? A hand on my shoulder thrusts me out of my thoughts, "You okay?" Barry asks, brows raised in concern. I nod, "I'm fine." I look behind him, noticing the space, "Where'd Patty go?"
He shrugs, "She had to go, Singh wants her to work on her case report." I nod, Cisco squints at the man, "There's always gonna be Harry's out there, but you can't let the Harry's get in the way of you living your life. Ask Patty out. You gotta--you gotta be bold." I send Barry a confused look, and he shakes his head in return. I look at Cisco, "That's tough talk. When was the last time you asked a girl for her number?" He rolls his head in my direction, "Watch and learn." I nod, "I'm watching."
Cisco walks to the counter, "Hi. What can I get you?" Cisco chokes, "Hi there." She smiles, "Hi...again." Cisco hesitates, and the woman points towards the coffee, "Do you want some coffee?" Cisco nods, "Yeah, I'll get some coffee." Then shakes his head, "No, uh, no, I don't want coffee. You know what I do want, though? I want to ask you this." He leans closer, "Do you want to go out with me?" The woman nods with a small, "Oh." And looks away, Cisco tries to save it, "To--we--I mean, we could go get coffee or we--" She looks back up at Cisco, "No."
I look over at Barry, who has a sad expression. Cisco shakes his head, "That's a no. That's totally cool. It's cool. Respect." Cisco walks off, and Barry and I follow.
"Yo, dude, you good? It's her loss." Cisco breathes heavily, and he looks anxious. "Hey, what's up?" I ask, lightly touching Cisco's arm. He swallows dryly, "We have another breach." Barry shakes his head, looks away, "What? How do you know?" Cisco looks away, "Central City Bank. You guys gotta go now!" Barry and I nod, and he grabs my arm. Speeding us off to Central City Bank.

Upon arrival, we spotted the Breacher. A woman wearing a black and white outfit, with a visor that took up most of her face. "You got our attention." The woman turns to us, "Flash." She extends her palm towards us and shoots a small beam of light at him. Barry dodges as he stands back up. The meta slams her palms onto the ground, sending out another beam of light and knocking a few hostages off their feet. Barry speeds to place chairs in front of them as they land, and I shade my eyes from the light.
Looking back towards the man, he shakes his head as he looks around.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Cisco meets us back at S.T.A.R. Labs, and he tells us that Wells might know about her as we walk into the cortex. "Her name is Doctor Light. Small-time thief on my Earth until exposure to the dark matter from the Particle Accelerator, and became a meta-human with the ability to derive power from starlight." Cisco sighs, smirking slightly, "Oh, very cool." Barry nods slightly behind him. "Stars having a temperature of 5,300 degrees kelvin and a blinding luminosity, I would say, 'Not very cool at all'," Wells speaks as he sends a very deadpanned look at Cisco.
"You know, our Dr. Wells may have been evil, but you're just a dick," Cisco exclaims, shrugging his shoulders. Barry speaks, "Okay, so obviously, Zoom brought her here from your Earth like the others." Wells takes a bite of his burger, "Mm-hmm. Now that we know that, we can use that to gain an advantage." I watch the man walk away and speak, "What do you mean?" The man turns to me, "We capture Doctor Light and use her to lure Zoom here."
"You are insane!" Jay's voice booms, echoing through the cortex as he and Caitlin enter the room. "Okay, we are not luring Zoom anywhere." Caitlin walks over to me, a tight smile graces her lips, "Apparently, they know each other, and Jay is not a fan." I scoff and look at her, "Is anyone?" She shrugs.
"Huh. Well, well, well. Like everyone else, I assumed Earth-2 Flash was dead. Why am I not surprised to find Jay Garrick here, still alive and in hiding a full universe away from Zoom?" Jay sneers, taking steps towards Wells, "I'm not in hiding. Zoom nearly killed me and stole my speed before the Singularity pulled me here." Wells smirks, "Is that right?" Jay nods, "Yeah, that's right."
I slowly creep over to Cisco, pulling a twenty-dollar bill out of my jacket pocket, "Twenty bucks, that Jay punches Wells." Cisco smirks, "Deal." He shakes my hand, and we continue watching the scene unfold. "Well, whatever the case, in your absence, Zoom has only gotten more powerful, faster. Barry, you have to defeat Zoom now while you still can." Barry shrugs, shaking his head.
"No, this isn't the time to be reckless. We don't even know why Zoom sent Doctor Light here. She's a thief, not a killer." Wells smirks, "Zoom can make people do things out of character. Thief or not, she'll kill you." He says, looking at Barry. Who decides to end the argument, "Alright, look, hey, we can decide what to do with Light later. First, we have to find her, okay?"
Wells walks off, causing Barry to sigh. I slap the twenty into Cisco's hand, who smirks. "Pleasure doing business with ya." I flip him off with a smirk.
Barry turns to us, approaching Cisco. "Hey, how did you know that she was breaking into the bank?" Cisco looks at me for a second before frantically grabbing his phone out of his pocket. I-I got an alert on my phone. There's a little ring-a-ding." He lets a trill-like ring, "Every time, like, there's a robbery at a bank." Barry gives a confused look, and Cisco freaks, "But you know what? I think I can get the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite to scan for irregular solar radiation emissions, and we can find Doctor Light's light."
Barry nods, grabbing his phone, "Okay, I'm gonna also call Joe, see if CCPD has any leads. Why don't we keep them apart until I get back?" He motions towards the two men on the opposite side of the cortex. "I'm sure that won't be a problem." Caitlin whispers.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry left, heading to CCPD to finish some of his reports. Cisco and I walked down the halls, heading towards his lab. "You know, you're going to have to make an app to get alerts now, right? You don't know because you can't read minds, but Barry did not believe a thing you were spewing back there. He was actually wondering if you were having a stroke." I laughed, and he turned to me. "Yeah, go on. Laugh it up." He walked past me as I laughed, "Aw, Cisco." I jog lightly to catch up to him. "Don't be like that, he's just worried about you. We all are."
He smiles, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, "I know." Music echoes down the hall, coming from Cisco's lab. We slowly approach the doorway, quickly spotting Wells sitting at Cisco's desk, reading something on the computer. Cisco takes a deep breath, "Hey, Harry. Hey, over here." Wells looks up and over to the doorway, lowering the volume wth a sigh. "Come inside. Use my workroom. Use my computer! I don't care."
Cisco exclaims as he walks into the room. I smile from my spot in the doorway, "Thanks." Harry responds unbothered. "You and Wells Prime have very different musical tastes. His were better." I tilt my head in agreement, "This Harrison Wells and I are very different. but similar in some respects. I see he made almost the same mistake I did with the Particle Accelerator." I scoff, and Cisco continues, "Yeah, he did a lot of terrible things, and none of them were by mistake."
Wells stands, looking over at Cisco, "What did he do to you? I know he caused the Singularity, murdered Barry's mother, blah, blah, blah, blah. What did he do to you?" Cisco keeps his eyes on what he's messing with as Wells stands in front of him. "Both of you can barely look me in the eye. Why is that? What did he do to you?" He looks between the two of us. "He shoved his hand through my chest. He stopped my heart."
Wells chuckles, "Ouch, okay, that would do it, but you survived that." Cisco scoffs, "Only because Barry erased that timeline." Wells nods his head, "I see. Barry traveled in time. But what about her?" He turns to me, and Cisco sends me a look saying, 'you don't have to answer that'. I look at the doppelganger of the man I once loved. "I loved him. He took that love and used it to get closer to Barry, and tried to kill everyone I care about."
Wells nods, "Hmm. Here's how it is." Cisco looks at him, "What's the deal?" Harry smirks, "You two don't have to like me. I don't like you, but you have to work with me to stop Zoom and Doctor Light. Can you do that?" Cisco takes a step back, "I guess we'll see, won't we?" He walks around the man towards me. "I guess we will. One more thing--." Wells calls out, causing Cisco to stop and turn. "You said you were going to re-task the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite?"
Cisco nods, "To scan for solar emissions, yeah, we're up and running." Wells turns towards, "I'd like to examine your program. I want to see if it works." Cisco gave him a look, "Don't worry. It'll work." We walk out of the room and back to the cortex.
"Harry's starting to get on my nerves," Cisco spoke as we entered the room. I nodded in agreement as I stood next to Barry, "The silent alarm just went off at the Bank of Central City." Barry straightens, "That's gotta be Doctor Light." Cisco shifts, "It could be a trap." I nod and walk towards Barry, "Yep, which is why he won't be alone." Using my powers to change into my suit. "Y/N, Barry. Trust me, Doctor Light is not a killer. You can talk to her."
Barry nods.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry and I arrive at the bank vault, "Looking for this? I know Zoom sent you here to kill me. Good news, you don't have to do that." The meta shakes her head, "Not if I can get out of town with that cash." I take a few steps towards her, "And then what? Zoom's not gonna like that you ditched him, right? My friends and I can help you." She frowns, "Nobody can protect me from Zoom!"
She illuminates her hands, and Barry raises his. "Alright, why don't we take it down a lumen, have a normal conversation, all right?" She lowers the light show, and Barry thanks her. She raises the shades, revealing her face to us, "Linda?" Barry and I ask at the same time. "Linda Park?" Barry asks alone this time. "How do you know my name?" She asks, "I don't understand." She shakes her head. "This was a mistake." She released a bright light, and I winced at the white light, feeling as though a million tiny needles were repeatedly stabbing me in the eyes.
I let out a small wail as I collapsed onto the nearest wall. "Barry, Y/N. What's happening?" Caitlin's voice rings through the comms. "I can't see," Barry exclaims. "Y/N? Are you okay?" Cisco's frantic voice echoes, "It hurts." I wheezed out.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I don't know how we ended up back at S.T.A.R. Labs, but here I am lying on a hospital bed as Caitlin shines a red light into Barry's eyes—a treatment I received not too long ago. "I still can't see. How long is this going to last?" Barry questions. "You're suffering from solar retinopathy. Your retinas are severely damaged. You're both lucky not to be permanently blind." I scoff, staring at what I believe is the ceiling, "If this is what you call lucky, then I'm not feeling very lucky, Cait."
"But with you both having rapid regeneration abilities, your sight should return soon," Jay speaks, placing a hand on my shoulder. Harry speaks. "6.25 hours by my estimation. All this could have been avoided if you had just stopped Light instead of chitchatting with her." Jay rolls his eyes, "She caught them off guard." Harry crosses his arms, "Always an excuse with you, right? He's the fastest man alive. How could she possibly do that?"
I snapped up, looking in the direction that I believed Wells was sitting, "Because Light looks exactly like Barry's ex-girlfriend. And my best friend. Linda Park" Wells cut in, "That's why Zoom sent her--because he knew you'd hesitate." Cisco walks towards us, "That means Zoom had to have known somehow that Linda was your ex." Wells stands, "Which is why Barry has to act now, before Zoom sends another double from Barry's life."
Barry scoffs, "Alright, right now, I'm more worried about Linda. When I saw who was under the mask, I said her name. What if Light didn't even realize that she had a doppelganger here until I accidentally told her?" Cisco agrees, "The first thing that Atom Smasher did when he crossed the breach was to kill his doppelganger."
"Yeah, but Light's not like Atom Smasher." Jay counters, and Harry speaks again, "Well, we should keep an eye on your Linda." Barry nods, "All right, I'll go." From what I hear, Barry bumps into Caitlin as he tries to walk away. The others try to stop him, and I smirk and gently push myself upwards.
Jay talks to Barry, and Cait comes back over to me, "Hey, how're you feeling?" I frown, "Like I'm going to miss out on movie night with my couch." I hear Jay volunteer to watch over Linda, and Caitlin walks over to them, "I'll go with you." As their footsteps exit, a new pair enters, "Barry! I came as soon as I heard--"
Iris' voice rings through the cortex, faltering as she comes to a stop. "You look just like him." Harry looks at Barry, "I'm guessing my counterpart did something to offend her as well?" I scoff and take careful steps towards the doorway. "Her fiancé died because of him," I speak from my spot on the doorframe.
"Oh." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. Wells retreats into the medical bay, "Iris, I know it's weird seeing him." Barry starts from wherever he is, Iris tares after the man, "Yeah, it's just a lot to process lately. Wells, my mother." Iris and Barry talk quietly, and I move back to the bed. As I lay there, I tried to calm my breath.
"Y/N tell Barry not to cancel his date with Patty!" I hear Iris yell from he cortex, "Don't cancel! Please, I don't think me nor Joe can handle her moping if you do." Barry scoffs, "I'm blind. A literal blind date. That's not going to work." Iris scoffs, then proceeds to try to find a way for Barry to go on his date.
She smirks when her gaze lands on Cisco, and Barry proceeds to walk around like a chicken missing a head in search of the tech nerd.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I've been staring at the ceiling for god knows how long. Iris went back to work, Barry left for his date, Caitlin and Jay are watching out for Doctor Light, and Cisco is, actually, I have no idea what he's doing. I can hear footsteps approaching the side of the bed. "What do you want, Wells?" His steps falter, "How'd you know it was me?"
I sat up, turning towards him, "Everyone else is busy, you're the only one unaccounted for." He smirks, "You keeping tabs on me?" I scoff, "Yes, considering the last time I trusted a man with your face, I almost lost everyone I love. Now, if you don't mind, I would like to be left alone." The smirk on his face twitches, and he exits the room.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Soft voices pull me from my sleep. My sight has returned a little bit after Wells left; I push off the bed and walk into the cortex. The team standing around the console, Cait walks over to me. "Hey, how're you feeling?" I smile, "Better now that I can see again." She nods. Cisco wheels in Light's mask, "How did you get this?" Wells questions, "Iris shot it off Doctor Light when she attacked Linda."
"You know how to use the mask to find Light?" Jay grunts, Wells nods, "Yes, I do. All we have to do is give it to him." He turns to Cisco, who wrings his hands together, "Why me?"
"Because you have powers." Barry scoffs out a laugh, Cisco shakes his head, quickly looking over at me, "What're you talking about?" Wells raises his left arm, presenting a watch, "I developed this watch to detect meta-humans." He flips it open and holds it up to Barry. The screen flashes red, and an alarm beeps. He walks over to Caitlin, holding it in front of her, and the screen illuminates blue with a soft, almost inaudible trill. Wells slowly approaches Cisco, "You never got an alert on your phone. You never reprogrammed the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite."
Wells turns back to the rest of the group, "And this is why." He holds up the watch, and the screen turns red, the same alarm blaring from it once again. "He's a meta-human." Cisco sighs, Barry, blinks, "Cisco, have you known about this, and you didn't say anything to us?"
"Yeah, I was going to tell you. Thanks a lot, Harry. I swear I was, but I didn't." Cisco turns and starts pacing, "I was just--I was afraid." Barry shrugs, "Afraid of what?"
"Dr. Wells said the dark matter gave me this, this gift. He said that one day I'd thank him for it. What if I become like him?" Caitlin speaks softly, "Cisco, I don't think any of us would become evil if we all of a sudden got powers, even if they were from Dr. Wells." He shrugs, "Yeah, maybe you're right. I should have said something. That's my fault. I'm sorry." Wells cuts in, "Well, you can be sorry later, because right now, we have to use your powers to find Doctor Light."
"Cisco, your abilities, how do they work?" Jay questions, "Uh, I get these feelings sometimes, these vibes, visions of the breachers when they come to this Earth. I just-- I'm not sure what triggers them. Sometimes it just happens. Sometimes when I'm touching something of theirs." Wells turns to him, "Touch the mask. You want to find Doctor Light, do it." Cisco looks around before his gaze lands on me. I nod softly, remembering just how scared he was when he first told me about his abilities, and needing him to know I'm always going to be there for him.
He slowly raises his hand, hovering it over the mask, takes a deep breath in, and places his hand onto the mask, exhaling quickly. After a few seconds, nothing happens, and he presses his hand to the mask repeatedly, "I don't think it's working." Wells demands that he try again, Cisco hesitates, causing Harry to get agitated, "Try again!" He yells, Cisco places his hand on it again, sighing when nothing happens, "I'm sorry, it's not--." Wells cuts him off, "Again!" Cisco looks up at him, "I can't control it." Harry picks up the mask, "Because you're afraid."
Cisco raises his voice, "I'm telling you I don't know how it works. I can't just make it happen!" Wells raises the mask, "I'm telling you, yes, you can!" He pushes the mask into Cisco's chest, and he inhales deeply. "South Plaze train station, platform 15." Wells turns to Barry and I, "What're you waiting for?" Barry walks over to me, "You go. I don't think I can face her again." Barry nods before speeding off. I walk back into the med bay.
I close my eyes, slowly lying back onto the bed. I have no idea how long I'm there before a searing pain flows through my head. The scream that leaves my mouth sounds inhumane. Footsteps rush into the room as I clutch my head. "Y/N!" Cisco's voice calls out my name, sounding incredibly distant. "Caitlin, Jay. Keep helping Barry. Harry, I need you to help me."
"Y/N, what's wrong?" Two pairs of hands help me sit up, "My. Head." Wells tries to pull my hands away, but the contact almost instantly burns, and a screech leaves my throat as an invisible force pulls his hands away, "She's burning up." Cisco's eyes widen, "Shit." He rushes over to the cabinets that line one of the walls.
"What're you doing?" Wells asks frantically, and Cisco rushes to explain, hurriedly looking through the compartments as the room begins to shake. "Her powers are overloading. I need to find the treatment." Wells looks over his shoulder, confused, "This has happened before?" Cisco makes a noise of acknowledgment.
"Last year, she had a major breakdown. She never told anyone what caused it, but it sent her spiraling. Her powers went into overload, causing her to start burning up, and her powers to get out of control." Cisco opens the last drawer and lets out a sound of triumph. "Found it." He rushes back to the bed, "Y/N, can you hear me?"
I nod very lightly, "I need you to relax, this won't work if you're too tense." I nod again, tears pricking the corners of my eyes. "Okay, we're going to lay you down. Don't fight us." Cisco and Wells stand on either side of me, both grabbing an arm gently and slowly lowering me onto the bed. Once my head is on the pillow, Cisco raises the syringe to my left arm.
He slowly presses the needle into my arm, and I flinch but relax when a hand locks its fingers into mine. I look to the side and find Wells staring at me, his eyes boring into mine, as the liquid is pushed into my veins and a sob is punched out of my chest. I clench my eyes tight as the burn intensifies. "Hey, look at me." Wells' voice echoes softly, "Y/N, open your eyes."
His voice sounds so soothing. I open my eyes, and he smiles, "There you go. Just stay with us." I give him a soft, small smile before I lose consciousness.

Sunlight glares into my eyes as I slowly open them, "Hey. How're you feeling?" Iris's face pops into my view. I smile, "Hi." She smiles, but before she can say anything, I speak, "Where's Harry?" Her smile falters for a second, "He's talking to the others, Barry caught Doctor Light."
I nod. "Can you help me up?" She smiles, standing and walking around the bed to help me get up. She walks me out to the cortex, and suddenly all eyes are on me. Hugs and 'I'm so glad you're alrights' are exchanged, Joe pulls me into his side, letting me put my weight on him.
"Wells, thank you for helping Barry put away Doctor Light. And thank you for taking care of my sister." He nods at her, his eyes slowly trailing over to me, mine already on him. I gently push off of Joe and slowly walk over to Harry. "Thank you, I know I haven't been the nicest person since you got here, but you still stepped in to help me. So, thank you."
I stretch my hand out for him to take, and he looks down at it for a second before grasping it firmly but gently. I smile and turn back to the others, "So what now?" Barry nods, "We do what Dr. Wells said. We use her to lure Zoom here, end this once and for all." Jay looks at Barry, "You can't be serious."
Barry shook his head, turning to the man, "More breachers are gonna come. More innocent people may die. I can't let this happen anymore." Jay argues, "You're making a mistake. Okay, Zoom is a nightmare you can't wake up from."
"I've already had my worst nightmare. His name was Reverse Flash, and I spent a long time being afraid of him. I'm not gonna be afraid anymore." Jay tries to argue once more, pleas falling on ears that are set in their ways. "That's just it, Jay. I'm not gonna fight him by myself. I've got all of them to help me."
"I've got Dr. Wells. I've got Y/N. I've got you." Jay sighs, "No, I can't in good conscience help you when I know it'll only lead to you losing your speed, or even worse, your death." Cisco makes a snarky comment, and Jay turns to Harry.
"You all need to ask yourself why this man, for years, wouldn't admit that he was responsible for the Particle Accelerator exploding underground. He may not be Harrison Wells from your Earth, but he has just as many secrets as the one you knew." Caitlin pleads with Jay, trying to convince him to stay.

Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco decide to head out to Jitters to take their minds off things for a bit. They invited me, but I chose to stay at the lab. I walk into Cisco's lab, where I know Harry would be. As I walk into the room, I notice his back is to me. "Why did you help me?" He jumps at the sudden sound.
"What?" He stutters, "Why did you help me?" He stares before he stands, stalking towards me slowly, "Because I've lost someone, someone I cared very deeply for. I could've saved her, but I wasn't fast enough. I didn't want them to feel that way, too." He takes a step back before walking around me and out of the room.

"How's Stein?" I questioned as Barry continued typing on his computer, "He's okay. I guess as okay as he can be. He needs another counterpart. And with Ronnie gone, his body has begun burning itself internally."
I frowned, "So, he needs to find someone who can successfully merge with him." Barry hums, "And that will save him?" He sighs, standing to grab a file folder and the freshly printed papers. "I hope so."
"Come on, I need to get these downstairs." I nod, walking out of the room with him. "I hope we can find someone in time." Barry nods in agreement as we descend a flight of stairs. "Barry?" Patty called out to him from behind.
As we turned, she walked down the few stairs behind us, "Hey, Y/N." She smiled at me before turning back to Barry, "I was just looking for you. I would've called, but I don't have either of your numbers yet, so." Barry raises a hand, "Oh, yeah--" Patty interrupts him, "No, no, no, I just wanted to show you this."
She hands Barry an evidence bag of something, "These were just found in an alley off of Eastwood Avenue." I took the bag from Barry, examining the contents. "Are these teeth?" I asked, looking up at the woman with a baffled look, "Shark teeth!" She laughs.
"And I have an eyewitness who says he saw a shark walking on land--a man-shark." We continue are decsent down the stairs before Patty stops in front of us at the bottom. "Man-shark?" Barry asks, taking the bag back from me.
"Yeah." Patty sports a huge smile on her face and nods, "Sounds like a bad sci-fi movie." Barry speaks, turning the bag over in his hands. "Or an awesome sci-fi movie," Patty responds, and they both laugh.
I roll my eyes when Barry responds with a giddy smile plastered on his face, "Totally." When the laughter dies, Barry blinks, "Wait, are you for real? You think there's actually, like, a shark--"
Patty shakes her head, "Yeah, I mean, I know it sounds really wacko..." Barry and I tilt our heads at the same time, nodding and humming in agreement, "But, I mean, nothing seems impossible now that we have meta-humans, right? And I thought it would be fun, you know, for us to work together again on a case."
Barry shakes his head bashfully, "Yeah, I mean, I really-- I'd love to work on anything with you." I smirk and looking inbetween to two, painfully obvious, love-struck pair. I shake my head, interrupting the slightly painful-to-watch interaction.
"It's just, you know, meta-humans are more my thing." Patty looks over at me. "Oh, okay, yeah, that's fine." Barry offers the woman a soft smile, "Look, how about I just--I'll run a test, see where the teeth came from." Patty smiles, chuckling softly.
"That'd be amazing." Barry smiles, "All right, cool." Patty thanks him, and Joe calls out to her as he approaches, "Detective Spivot. How's your man-shark case coming?"
She nods slightly, still smiling brightly, "It's good. I was just gonna go and canvas the area, see what else I could dig up, and Barry here agreed to run some tests for me." Joe looks over at Barry, a look of faux shock in his eyes. "Really?" He asks Barry, who nods in agreement. "So, progress." She turns to Barry, "Thanks again."
He nods and smiles, "If I didn't know any better," Joe starts as he watches Patty walk off, before walking towards his desk. "I'd say you were flirting with my partner."
Barry frowned as we followed suit. "What, Patty? No, I'm--" He scoffs and smiles, "What are you talking about? I'm not--" Barry I smirked, "Oh, he definitely was, Joe. You should've seen him, he had hearts in his eyes like the ones from those cartoons we watched as kids."
Barry hands his file off to another detective, effectively shoving me at the same time. "Seriously, what is it with you and Iris and Joe's partners?" Joe smiles at my question, and Barry simply rolls his eyes, looking to Joe, "Hey, how is Iris by the way?"
Joe shrugs, "She's pretty nervous about seeing her mother." Barry's phone vibrates in his pocket, and he reads the message before inhaling deeply. "Hey, you know what, I gotta go. It's Cisco. It's about Professor Stein."
I smile sadly, "Go, we'll cover with Singh." Barry nods and walks out of the room.
My phone buzzes in my pocket as I sit at my desk. Once I pull it out, a text from Iris reads. "I need to ask you for a favor."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"You know, when you said you needed a favor, I didn't exactly picture myself walking into Jitters with you, to meet your not-dead mother." Iris sighs, "Yeah, I know. But if there's anyone I would want here with me, it would be you. My little sister." I smiled and laced our fingers together as we walked into the cafe. "
You ready?" I asked, squeezing her hand slightly, she shook her head, "No."
Joe stood from his seat as we approached. He put his hands on Iris's arms, placing a kiss on the side of her head. I offer him a soft smile from my place beside her. "Iris...this is Francine," Iris speaks a soft hello, and Francine steps forwards grabbing her hands softly.
"Hi. Hello, Iris." She pulls her hands away from the woman before reuniting them with mine. Joe points towards the counter, "Can I get you a coffee or something?"
Iris shakes her head, "No, thanks. Let's just sit." As we sit, Francine speaks again, "I can't get over what a beautiful young woman you've become." She turns to me, "This must be Y/N, your sister?"
I nodded softly, and she turned back to Iris, smiling. "And a journalist? I'm so proud of you." Iris shakes her head, "Why're you here? Why now, after two decades?" I tighten my grip on her hand, a silent reminder that I'm still here.
Francine leans forward, "I want to make this right with you." Iris cuts in, "How about you start by apologizing for walking out on us?" The woman's brows furrow sadly, "I am sorry, so very, very sorry. There's so much you don't know."
Iris cuts her off, "I'm sure that you've been through a great deal, and I can appreciate you feeling like this is suddenly the right time for you to want me in your life, but that doesn't mean that it's the right time for me."
Joe calls her name softly, she turns to him, "No, Dad, it's okay. I've thought about this a lot, and it wasn't fair for me to make you the bad guy."
She turns back to the woman across from us, "So I want you to hear this from me. I don't hate you, Francine. I do wish you well, but we have lived separate lives for over 20 years. Let's keep it that way." Iris stands, pulling me up with her, and we walk away.

After meeting Iris's mom, I took her back home. We watched movies, drank, and ate our weight in snacks and wine. After a couple of hours, Iris dozed off. I decided to call it a night and head back to my apartment. As soon as I got there, I crashed, slamming my head into my pillow and dozing off.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
The sound of buzzing jerked me out of my sleep. Joe's name lighting up the screen. "Hello?" I answered, holding the phone up to my ear, "Y/N, I need you down at Mercury Labs. Now." He ends the call before I can even respond, causing me to groan as I push myself out of bed.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"Doctor McGee, this is my new partner, Detective Spivot." Joe watched as I walked up to the group of three, "And I believe you already know, Detective Allen." She nods, looking at Patty, "Nice to meet you." Before walking down the hall, with Joe following close behind, Patty and I slowing down to look around the lab, taking notes but staying within earshot.
"I was saddened by Detective Thawne's passing. Please extend my condolences to your daughter." Joe nods, "Thank you. On the phone, you mentioned this was a sensitive matter."
McGee nods, "It is, and I called you directly because I've always appreciated your discretion in the past." Joe nods, "Of course, can you tell me what was stolen?" She sighs, "It's not so much what was stolen, but who stole it."
Patty and I approach the pair as McGee continues, "The person who broke into my facility last night was Harrison Wells." Joe gasps, turning to look at me. My entire body locked up, and I felt as though someone had injected liquid nitrogen into my muscles.
Patty looked at McGee with a furrowed brow, "Harrison Wells is dead." McGee glances at me before Joe takes a step to block her view, "I seem to recall the circumstances around his passing were a bit inconclusive. Is there any possibility he could be alive?"
I cleared my throat from behind Joe, stepping to the side, into view. "No, zero possibility." The doctor shakes her head, "I knew that man for over 20 years. I know who I saw. The only thing distinctively different was... He's walking again."
Patty looks over at me briefly before turning her gaze back to the doctor, "Like I said, I trust your discretion. You have full access to the facility. Thank you again, Detective."
Patty exhales as McGee walks out of the lab, "First the shark-man, now a dean man walking. We need to call Barry, get him here first."
I look over at her, "Barry can't hear about any of this." She turns to me, surprised, "What--why?"
"Because he's got a lot on his plate. He's got a friend who's sick, who needs his help, and--" Joe hesitates and sideeyes me. I inhale deeply, "And Harrison Wells is the man who murdered our mother." With that, I turned on my heel and walked out of the room.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I walked into the cortex and froze. "Um, what's going on here?" Cisco, Barry, and Caitlin all turned towards me. I pointed a finger at the kid standing in the middle of the room, palms and head a flame. "Who's that?" Caitlin walked over to me with a smile, "That's Jax. He's Stein's new companion." I nod slowly, "Okay."
"So when do we get to take this for a test spin?" Jax asks, and an alarm buzzing catches everyone's attention. Cisco runs over to the console and looks up at Firestorm. "Uh, how about now? Looks like Hewitt's re-charging at Central City High School's football stadium."
Barry walks towards me, "You up for this?" I nod, "More than I'll ever be." Barry smiles, speeding into his suit and down the hall. I lightly flick my head, and a purple hue rises from my feet to my head.
My clothes changed into a purple and black hero suit, and I placed my palms together, feeling the pulsating energy flow between them as I pulled them apart. A purple ripple shimmers under the fluorescent lights, as it grows larger, closing instantly behind me as I jump through.
Landing on the turf field, Hewitt stands in the middle, absorbing the energy from the lights surrounding the field. Barry grabs two players trapped on the field by the energy emerging from Hewitt, speeding them to safety.
"Cisco, turn off the power to the field so he can't draw anymore energy." Barry's voice rings into the comms, "I'm on it. Stand by." Keys clacking fill my ears, "Boo-ya ka!" The lights on the field shut off, cutting off Hewitt's energy source.
"Hewitt! You need to stop!" Barry yells from across the field, "This is not who you are!" I stand next to Barry as Firestorm lands behind us, "Stein? You chose him over me? That's who I'm supposed to be!"
Barry and I exchange a look of worry, "I deserve the Firestorm Matrix!" Hewitt sends a blast of energy at Firestorm, sending him flying backwards. Barry speeds off, and I use my powers to levitate myself off the ground and towards the two men.
"Hey, you okay?" Barry asks Jax as I land beside them. He raises his arms, "I was a quarterback. I know how to take a hit." Barry nods, tapping the side of his mask. "Hey, guys, cutting the power didn't work. It's like the more we anger him, the stronger he gets."
Caitlin's voice chimes through the comms, "That's it, it's like one of those, uh, controlled fusion devices." Cisco responds, confused, "Tokamak?" Caitlin snaps, "Yes, that's it, and the more powerful they become, the more unstable they become. Barry, make him angry, and he'll blow his fuse."
Barry smiles and turns towards us, "You two up for a little game of 'catch me if you can?" I smirk and nod, lifting myself off the ground once more before taking off in the opposite direction from Barry.
Barry runs around Hewitt, and I land a few feet away, creating multiple mirages of myself, all over the field, drawing his fire. All constantly repeating, "You weren't good enough to be Firestorm." He gets agitated and starts firing at them.
Each time he destroys one, a new one appears in a new spot. Barry joins in on taunting the man, Hewitt looks at Firestorm in the air, and they both fire at each other. Blasts canceling each other out.
"Barry stops in front of Hewitt. "Is that all you got, Hewitt?" Jax laughs from in the air, "Man, no wonder you didn't make the cut, if that's how you fight." All three of us laugh as Hewitt raises his arms. Yelling as he sent blasts towards Barry and Jax.
Both men dodge before Jax drops down and punches Hewitt in the face. Knocking him out, Barry and I approach Jax after he lands infront of the unconscious man. "Not bad for your first go at this."
Barry smiles, "Well, I had a great coach to help me through it. Ain't that right, Grey?" Jax laughs at whatever Stein says. I look over at Jax, "Welcome aboard, Firestorm."

The team joined together at Steins' house for one final goodbye. He and Jax are headed to Pittsburgh for effective training. I, on the other hand, decided to go home and get some much-needed rest.
Before I fell asleep, my thoughts reverted to the previous day: "The person who broke into my facility last night was Harrison Wells." Even after all the issues with Breachers from Earth-2, there was no way Harrison Wells could be back. Was there?

Letting out a huff, I stare down at my phone. An hour and a half ago, I received a text from an unknown number. 'Meet me at Jitters in an hour.' The detective side of me was skeptic but the thought of people's lives being in potential danger had the hero side in me peeking through the curtain.
I had overheard Cisco talking about going to get coffee, so I asked if I could tag along. Under the guise of just wanting to hang out with my friends. "Y/N, you okay?" I jumped as a hand landed on mine, "I'm fine, Cait. Why?" She smiles softly, "You look a little on edge." I placed my hand atop hers, offering her a smile in return, "Just tired." Iris smirks, "Maybe a cup of the Flash will help."
I shake my head with a chuckle, "Yeah, I'm not drinking that." Barry approaches the table, "Hey, how's Patty?" I ask with a smirk, the speedster furrows his brow, "I saw you two talking." He nods, "She's good." He hands out the caffeine. "Alright, four Flashes. Be careful--apparently they are super-caffeinated. And a Chamomile tea with extra honey and some sugar packs. "
I smile, "Thanks, Barr." He smiles, "First, I have a day named after me. Now I have a drink." Iris shares a look with us, "Well, all the things you do, rebuilding this place, protecting people--everyone's appreciative, right?" Cisco hums, "Mm-hmm, I'll drink to that." He lifts both his mugs to cheers it with Iris and Barry.
"Cisco, you're not seriously going to drink both of those," I ask, baffled, and the look I get in return answers my question. "Hey, you guys think Professor Stein is okay, right? I mean, Clarissa would call if there was anything wrong."
We all agree, and Caitlin makes a face, "I'm just gonna call and check in. I'll be back." She slides out of her chair as Barry and I try to speak and stop her, but she's already gone. "I don't see that call going well." Iris and I chuckles and Cisco begins imitating Stein, "Young lady, these repeated intrusions are interrupting what should be a speedy recov--."
A woman in a black leather jacket bumps into Cisco. He raises his hands to apologize, "Oh, I'm so sorry." She turns towards him, and I can feel a chill run down my spine. "Don't apologize. You can bump into me any day, Cisco."
He scoffs once he sees her face, "Lisa Snart. You here to double-cross us again, or are you and your big bro holding up coffee shops now?" She sighs, "I need your help." Cisco scoffs, "In your dreams, Sister Cold. You know I could call The Flash. He'd be here in like two seconds--probably one."
She shrugs, "Call him." Reaching for his phone, Cisco speaks, matter-of-factly, "Oh, okay. I'm gonna call him. Mm-hmm." He types for a while before looking up at Lisa, "You really want me to call The Flash?" She turns her body a little, "I need his help too, and Magick." Her gaze pans to me, and I frown. "You're the one who texted me?" She nods, a look of sorrow written across her features.
"My brother's been kidnapped."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"Alright, so you really want us to just believe that Captain Cold was kidnapped?" Barry (in his suit), Caitlin, Cisco, Lisa, and I were standing in the cortex. "I saw it happen. Last night, Lenny, me and Mick were knocking over the cashier's cage at Central City Racetrack."
Caitlin cuts in, "Does it physically pain your family not to rob people?" Lisa shrugs a shoulder, "I never finished the job. After Mick torched through the side entrance, I looked back for Lenny and saw him getting thrown into the back of a van." Barry shrugs, "And why didn't you and Mick follow?"
Lisa snarkily replies, "I would have. Someone hit me from behind and knocked me out. When I came to, Lenny was gone, and Mick already made off with the cash." Caitlin squints at Lisa in suspicion. "How do we know this isn't some kind of a trap?" Lisa returns the look, "If Lenny wanted Flash dead, he would have let Mardon, Simmons, and Bivolo take that honor, remember?"
"Yeah, I remember." Barry answers, "Good. Then you'll also recall that you owe Lenny a favor for saving your life. Time to make good on that debt, Flash." She turns to me with a cheeky smile, "Magick already has." I flip her off, receiving a genuine smile from the woman, and Caitlin turns to Barry, "I do not like her." Cisco shrugs from beside me,
"Yeah, but she makes a point." Barry and Caitlin turn to Cisco, baffled, "What? We should at least hear her out. Right?" Barry slides in, "Even if I wanted to help, how are we supposed to find him?"
Cisco smirks, "Not a problem. See, when I rebuilt the cold gun, I didn't have time to place a tracker on it, so I devised a method of locating it by borrowing some military technology." Cisco leans down and types for a bit before straightening back up. "See, the gun works the same as thermal imaging, only instead of infrared heat signatures, it's looking for ultraviolet cold signatures."
The machine beeps, "Whoa, look at that. The gun's UV thermal reading was last picked up at 5th and Hoyt eight minutes ago." We look at Lisa, "Alright. Let's see if you're a liar." Barry walks over to me, and I look up at him. "You should go alone. We'll need someone here to stop her if she tries to run."
Barry nods, "So, are you going to tell me what she meant when she said you already paid your debt to Snart?" I huff, "No, now go." He frowns before turning and speeding out of the Lab.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"Talk to me, what's going on?" Cisco asks through the mic, and Barry's frantic voice echoes through the speakers. "Cisco! Snart hit me with his cold gun." Caitlin turns to the screen monitoring Barry's vitals. "His vitals are bottoming out!"
"I'm bringing the heat right now." Cisco types aggressively before raising his hands off the keyboard. The image of Barry's suit on screen has a pulsing glow around it. His voice rings through again, "The suit. What's happening?"
"Therma-threading, baby. It's a little something I added for situations exactly like this one." When Barry doesn't respond, Cisco speaks again, "Please, please tell me it's working."
"Yeah, it works, but Snart's gone, and Lisa has a lot of explaining to do."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"So your brother was not kidnapped. He was pulling a job with your father." Lisa turns towards Barry, brows furrowed, "What? Lenny would never do that." Caitlin sarcastically responds, "Oh, just like he would never try to kill The Flash with his cold gun." Lisa blinks, "Are you sure it was my dad?" Cisco slides his chair over towards the screens on the desk.
He pulls up the mugshot of a man, and Barry points at the screen. "That's him." I stand and walk over to the screen, reading, "Lewis Snart. Convicted of larceny, armed robbery, aggravated assault, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Lisa looks at me, "You have to believe me. Lenny would never work with him. He's a bad guy." Caitlin stalks towards Lisa, "You and your entire family are criminals. Why should we trust anything you say?" Lisa rolls her eyes, grasping at her jacket and shirt, pulling them both to the side to reveal a scar.
"I didn't get this scar being a criminal. I got it being a daughter." She fixes her clothing and walks out. Cisco and Barry both move to follow, but I stop them. "I got this. I don't think she wants to talk to a man right now." They nod as I turn and walk out of the room.
I find her in Cisco's lab, "I see you found Cisco's hiding spot. He usually comes here to get away from all of it." She turns to look at me, watching as I leaned onto the desk, "First time my father came after me, I was seven. The second time, I was eight. That's when I learned that a bottle hurts worse than a fist. He used to say he was trying to teach us lessons."
"I must've been a slow learner, because the lessons never stopped." I frown, "I know. Leonard told me about your father." She scoffed and turned towards me, "Which is why I don't understand why you aren't fighting to help me get him back. Lenny practically raised me; without him, I would've turned out a lot worse."
I smiled softly, causing her to chuckle, "I know, how could I be any worse? But believe me, Y/N, there is worse." I sigh and look away. "And look, he may be a jerk brother, but he's the only jerk brother I've got. He protected me. Now it's my turn. If he's with our dad, he is in serious trouble."
"Please, Y/N. You've got to find out what's going on." I nod, "I promise I will, but I need you to do something for me." When she nods, I continue, "You've got to stop bringing up Leonard and me. I never told them about what happened, and I don't know if I want to." She nods, "I promise."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry left a little while ago to talk to Leonard in a more public spot. After wishing him luck, I disappeared into a small office I had claimed to work on my suit. "Wow, looks like that belt is coming together." Cisco's voice rings into the room from the doorway.
I smile and turn towards him before glancing back at the belt on the table, "Yeah, I've been working on the design for a while. Decided it was time to bring my creation to life." He nods, walking closer to the desk to look at the drawing of the belt, "Well, it looks amazing. Maybe I'll come to you if I ever have costume changes for Barry's suit."
I chuckle, shrugging, "Or maybe you'll be coming to me for a visual of your own suit." He laughs sarcastically, "Hopefully not, but that's not what I came here to talk to you about."
Cisco leans on the desk beside my chair. "I overheard a part of your conversation with Lisa."
I sigh, dropping the chains in my hand, and looking over at Cisco. "You heard about Leonard and me." He nods, "What happened between you two?" He raises an eyebrow, causing me to sigh again.
"Remember when I took that 'vacation' after Thawne and the singularity?"
I receive a nod and continue, "Well, while I was gone, I ran into Snart. He was robbing a jewelry shop with Mick. But I walked away before he saw me, or so I thought."
I ran a hand across my face, "When I arrived back at my hotel, he was there. Sitting on the couch watching Family Feud."
I smiled lightly, the memory of how relaxed he looked when I saw him there, "He explained how he knew I saw him at the shop, and how he was going to kill me. Until he found this." I pull out an envelope from one of the drawers next to the desk.
As I hand it to Cisco, I smile sadly, "It was a goodbye letter. Addressed to all of you. Team Flash." Cisco looks up at me in shock, "It's not a suicide note. I wouldn't." I cleared my throat, "I couldn't do that to you guys. Not after losing Eddie and Ronnie."
Cisco quickly read the letter, "I'm sorry, Y/N." I shrugged it off, "It was the worst day of my life, but I got over it. With my friends and family, and Leonard." I dug through the drawer once more.
A Polaroid photo in between my fingers as I withdrew my hand. I passed it to Cisco; it was an image of Lisa, Leonard, and me. He had an arm around my shoulders and was mid-kiss on the side of my head, Lisa holding the camera with a wide smile.
"So what happened?" A small smile spread across my face, "He's a bad guy, Cisco. And I knew no matter how much I love him, I could never change that. So we agreed to go our separate ways."
"Lisa and I always kept in contact; she used burner phones and a new number every time she texted or called. And almost every time we spoke, she told me she could see how much Lenny missed me."
I chuckled, "I would tell her I missed him too, and she'd tell me to get a grip and call him. But I never did, I was afraid. Afraid that loving another bad guy would break me just as badly as Thawne did. Or worse."
Cisco smiled sadly, but before he could speak, my phone buzzed in my pocket. A text from Joe illuminated the screen. I looked back at Cisco, "I gotta go. Let's keep this between us, for now. Okay?" He nodded, I walked past him and out the door.

"Iris' mom is alive?" Barry asked, and I stared down at the photobook—the images of Iris as a baby in her mom's arms. Joe paced in front of us, "I lied to Iris, both of you, everybody." I looked up, brows furrowed, "Why?" I asked, "I felt like I didn't have a choice. Francine did so many things wrong." Joe sits beside me, "Just about everything. I don't know. Now I feel like my one wrong might be worse." Barry takes a deep breath before sighing heavily. "Look, Joe. We've known you for most of our lives, and I know that you always have a good reason for the decisions you make."
Barry shrugs, "And obviously, you were worried that Iris would go down the wrong path if Francine raised her. Look at Snart." My head turned in Barry's direction. "He's a criminal because he had Lewis for a father. That could have been me or Y/N." Joe chuckles, "Oh, come on, never." I smile, "Yeah, because we had you. And so did Iris." Barry cut in, "You just gotta trust in that and tell her the truth."
Joe readjusts himself in his spot, "Yeah, how do I do that without hurting her?" Barry shook his head, "She's not a little girl anymore. You should have seen her in action the other day, putting her neck on the line for a story. She can handle anything that comes her way."
"I just lied to her for so long, I'm scared she's not gonna understand or forgive me. I could lose her." I place my hand on Joe's, "No, she's gonna forgive you. You just gotta give her a chance. She loves you, Joe, and no mistake will ever change that."

A heavy sigh left my mouth as I walked into my apartment. After taking off my shoes, I walked towards the kitchen to grab a drink. As I passed by a wall of photos, I stopped to stare at one, my gaze lingering. It was the last time Leonard and I were together. As I stared, the memories came rushing back.
"Leonard. Stop!" The man stops his advance towards the door, turning on the spot. "Y/N, we were never going to work out. I'm a villain, a bad guy, a stone-cold killer. And you." He took a deep breath before dropping his bags at his side, "You are my weakness. You have changed me, and as much as I don't want to admit it, for the better. But I'm dangerous, I could get you hurt, or worse. My enemies could become yours." He takes small, heavy steps towards me and places his cold hands on my cheeks, wiping the small tears that fell from my eyes. "I can't handle you getting hurt because of me." He leans down, placing a kiss so light I could barely feel it onto my forehead before placing his against it. After a minute, he pulls away. Walking back towards the door, as he grabs his bags, he speaks. "I'll see you around, Snowflake."

I stared at my watch as I stood next to Patty at a new crime scene. She taps my shoulder and points her chin when I look up at her. "Took you two long enough," I exclaimed as Barry and Joe walked onto the crime scene, "And don't worry, sir. I waited for you this time." Patty raised her hands, "Okay, I may have done a quick preliminary assessment of my own. Something is definitely weird." Barry and I smirked as we walked towards the back of the truck.
She lifts the tarp covering the victim, and Joe makes a sound of shock. "Decapitation." Barry's eyes dart over the dead man. "Yeah." Patty answers, "We're still recovering parts of the head, so the ID is taking a little longer than normal." Patty exclaims, looking down at her feet, stepping back. "Sorry, I thought I stepped on an ear." She chuckles nervously, "I didn't. If I did, I'd be hearing things." Joe's eyes widened as he spoke, "Oh, hell no." And walked away, I chuckled.
Patty points towards the body, "Doesn't look like the head was sliced off with any weapon I'm familiar with, and I'm familiar with most weapons." Barry tilts his head to get a better look, "Yeah, you're right. Perforation around the neck--it's too jagged. It's almost like the head was blown off." Patty hesitates, "Like a meta-human who can explode heads, right?" Barry shakes his head, "Not necessarily." Barry rummaged through his tools before grabbing what looked like a radio scanner.
It trilled before beeping, "Traces of thermite." He turned towards us, "Bomb residue?" I asked from behind, and Barry made a noise of agreement. Patty cut in, "Then why wasn't the rest of the body blown apart?" Barry shakes his head. "I don't know," Joe speaks as he approaches us, "The victim is David Rutenberg, security systems expert, and guess who's on his list of known associates. Lewis Snart."
Patty raises her head, "Lewis Snart. Isn't he related to Leonard Snart, aka Captain Cold?" Joe looks at her, "Please don't call him that?" Barry looks at me before turning to Patty, "Uh, one second." He wraps a hand around my arm and pulls Joe and me aside. "Come here. I think this guy is part of Snart's crew." Joe looks over at Barry, "So Snart put a bomb in him to keep him in line?" I shook my head, "No, Leonard wouldn't do that, but his father would."
I choose to ignore the look that Barry gave me at calling Leonard by his first name, "So Lewis is killing people, and Snart's still working with him? What happened with the deal you had?" Barry sighs, shaking his head, "Maybe he doesn't have a choice." Joe interrupts, "So you think Lewis put a bomb in his own son to force him to pull off a heist?" I shook my head, "He still wouldn't do it. He'd dig the bomb out of his own head if he had to."
Joe shook his head, "So there must be something else that Snart cares about." Barry looks at me, and I shake my head, my heart dropping. "No." He gives me a sad look, "The only thing Snart cares about is his sister."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry held a magnet up to Lisa's neck to detect the bomb. I sat next to her as she held my hand like it was her lifeline, "The micro-bomb casing must be made of some kind of ferromagnetic material." Caitlin walks around him, "Once you hold it steady with the magnet, I can surgically excise it." Lisa gave the doctor a scared look. "Put the magnet down!" Cisco yelled as he walked into the room, "This is a really concentrated bomb. It's gonna combust if it's exposed to magnetic friction and an oxidant."
Lisa's grip on my hand tightened, and she looked over at me. "What's he talking about?" I sighed and explained, "Air. Uh, the bomb will explode if it comes in contact with air." Cisco takes a step towards us, "Don't worry, Lisa. We're going to find another way to get it out. Scientific minds. Can we confer, please?" Cisco, Barry, and Caitlin stepped away. "Shouldn't you be going with them?"
Lisa questioned, "Nah, I can hear them from here. It's a trick I learned a while ago. If I send a certain amount of energy to my ears, I can listen in on conversations from further away. Plus, you need me too." She smiles sadly, "What about Lenny?" I sighed, "I don't know." I hear Barry talk about infiltrating Lewis' crew, and I stand, walking over to him. "You're not going alone. I'm coming with you." Barry turns towards me before nodding.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"These visits are getting old." Leonard's voice rang through the warehouse, "Third time's a charm. Plus, I brought backup." I smiled as Leonard turned, "Hi, Lenny." He frowned, "What're you doing here?" Agitation drips from his mouth, "I wasn't going to let my brother walk headfirst into danger alone. Plus, I told him you like me more than him." I shrugged. He stood and picked up his gun, "I told your brother, I don't need saving."
I smiled sadly, "But Lisa does. I know Lewis put a bomb in Lisa. Lewis told you he'd kill her if you didn't help him, right?" Barry cut in, "Look, don't worry. Our team's working on a way to remove the bomb." A voice rang through the room, "I hope you got that gun of yours ready to blast 'cause--. Who the hell are they?" Barry hesitated, and I cut in, "Lenny said you needed new tech. I'm Poppy, and this is Sam." Barry held his hand out, and I just stared at the man. "You tellin' me you think these kids can crack a Draycon keypad?"
Barry stepped forward, "Well, I did help Lenny steal the Kahndaq Dynasty Diamond from Central City Museum last year. That was locked up behind an AmerTek Industries Phase Three Suppression Door with a Draycon XL-1218 keypad." Lewis tilted his head, looking down at me, "And what about you?" I smiled, "Well, I was the eyecandy of course, the distraction, Lenny and I were dating at the time, and Sammy's my brother. Adopted. So there's nowhere that he goes where I don't follow."
Leonard closes his eyes and sighs, "Couldn't have done it without them." Barry and I smile, "Draycon's my jam." Lewis took a step closer to me, likely trying to size me up, "Okay, Poppy, Sam. Let's go." He taps my ass as he walks by, and I resist the urge to gag. "Right now?" Barry asks.
Lewis turns, "You got a problem with that?" Barry shakes his head, "Nope, all good. Can't wait." He turns back to me and Leonard, who sports a snarky grin. "This should be fun."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"Keep quiet and follow my lead." All four of us are sporting janitorial jumpers. I put a cap on my head to hide my hair and wrapped my chest in tape to pass as a man. Lewis spoke to the security as we passed them our badges. Each time the guard swiped the card, it let out a deep sound. Lewis raised the dustpan on the cart that hid his gun, and Barry leapt into action. "Hey, what's the hold up, guys? I mean, you wanna call management and tell them why the toilets are still overflowing? We're all on the clock, right?"
"Yeah, you guys are good to go." The guard spoke. Barry thanks the man, and we all take our badges back. "Enjoy the game, guys." Lewis spoke with a smirk, and the other guard looked back at him, "Diamonds don't stand a chance." Lewis smiled, "Not tonight, they don't."
As we exited the elevator, voices echoed down the hall, "Hold up. Did you hear that?" Lewis asked. I smirked and walked past him, "I got this." I pulled a mirror out of my pocket and used it to look around the corner. "It's two armed guards," I spoke to the three men. "Guess your timing didn't work out after all." Leonard sneered, "Yeah, that's why I got a Plan B." Leonard scoffed, "'Cause you always needed one." Lewis stepped towards Leonard.
"Yeah, but... your sister turned out to be a disappointment also." I clenched my fist at his remark about the girl. Before I could slip up, Barry sped and got rid of the guards. "All right, what do you guys say we get on with the job? Guards are gone. Must have taken a break." Leonard looks at Barry, "Yeah, must have."
The four of us walk down the hall towards the vault, "Okay, Sam. Show us what you've got." Lewis looks at Barry, "Yeah, all right. Gonna just--" Barry looks over his shoulder and sees Lewis looking at him, "You guys just keep a lookout and I'll..." I smile, "Trust me, Sam's very private with his methods." Lewis, Leonard, and I turn to watch the hallway. Not even twenty seconds go by before the door to the vault is opened. Barry turns around with a smile on his face, "Boom." I smiled at Lewis and spoke, "Told you Draycon was his jam."
"Nice job, Sam, Poppy," Lewis spoke, a slight hint of surprise in his tone. Barry nodded happily, and Lewis continued, "It's good to go out on a high note." He raised his gun and shot both Barry and I. Leonard watched in shock as our bodies hit the floor. "I'm sorry, Y/N."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I groaned as Barry pulled me up, "You okay?" He asks, checking my shoulder. "Yeah." When Lewis shot at us, Barry caught his bullet while I used a smaller form of my forcefield over the surface area the bullet would've made contact with, the energy acting as a small bulletproof vest. "Maybe next time you can use your superspeed to stop my bullet, too." Barry smiled sadly before pulling his phone out.
He calls the lab on speaker, "Cisco, How you doing with Lisa?"
"Uh, kind of in the middle of it right now, buddy."
Barry sighs, "Alright, we need that bomb out." He sped off to change into his suit. As he stopped infront of me again, I smiled, "The heist is going down right now." Barry hangs up and looks back at me, already wearing my suit, having used my glamour to change.
"I hate you sometimes." I chuckled as he looked back at the door, lightly grabbing my arm and speeding us both into the vault. "The only place you're going is back to Iron Heights, Lewis." Barry exclaimed. "Ah, you wanna bet?" Barry repeated, "Do I want to bet?" And Cisco's erratic voice rang through the comms, "Do not bet. Give me a minute." I took a few steps towards the father/son duo. "Tell me this, what kind of man puts a bomb in his own daughter?"
Lewis walked towards me, "A very rich man." I nod my head in faux understanding. Lewis raises his arm, switch in hand, "Shoot them, son." I shot him a pleading look, "Kill her, or you'll never see your sister alive." Leonard looks at me as Cisco's voice rings through the comms again. "I got the bomb out!" I sighed and smiled at him. "Lisa's safe, Leonard." Lewis turns towards his son as Leonard shoots him in the chest. The man falls to his knees, an icicle protruding from his chest.
"You're working with The Flash? I thought you hated him?" Leonard's brows furrowed, "Not as much as I...hate you." The man falls forward, gurgling before he falls quiet. Barry walks towards the kneeling man, taking his cold gun. "Lisa was safe. Why'd you do that?" Leonard looks up at him, "He broke my sister's heart. Only fair I break his."

I stood by the wall with Joe as Barry and Leonard spoke over the phone, my ears perking as Barry spoke about Leonard's secret. "I finally figured out your secret." He smirks at Barry, "And what secret would that be?" Barry takes a deep breath, "You'd do anything to protect your sister. And mine." Leonard looks over at me, then back at Barry, "Well, I know your secret too. Better hope I don't talk in my sleep." Barry smiled, "You won't. Today just proved what I've always known. There's good in you, Snart. And you don't have to admit it to me, but there's a part of you that knows you don't have to let your past define you."
"A part of you that really wants to be more than just a criminal." Snart smirks, "So I should be a hero like you, Barry? What exactly does that pay again?" Barry smiles, "It's just a matter of time. Something you'll have a lot of in here." The man raises his brows with a smirk on his face. "Not as much as you think. Be seeing you." He stood and walked out of the room, guards in tow. I focused my thoughts and spoke directly into Leonard's head.
"Good to know I'm still your weakness. See ya around, Lenny." From the corner of my eye, I could see the smirk on his face as he left. Barry walked over to us, smirking and shaking his head. Joe and I chuckled, "You really think that leopard's gonna change its spots." Barry sighs, "I do. Maybe we should transfer him to the meta-human wing anyway." Joe shook his head, "I already got Patty on the paperwork." He pointed his head towards the door, and I pushed off the wall, following the two men. "Hey, I wanted to thank you two for the advice you gave."
He slaps his hand onto Barry's back and places his arms around our shoulders. "I told Iris. She's gonna sit down with Francine. It was hard, but it was for the best." I smiled as Barry spoke, "I'm glad, any time." Joe looked between us, "You're good kids." I placed my hand over my heart, "We know."

"You know, you could come with me. I wouldn't mind having my best friend with me on my escapades." I laugh as I lean on Lisa's bike next to her. "As much as I would love to, I don't think this team could function without me. Plus, you need someone around to keep you in the loop regarding your boy toy." She smiles, "Speak of the devil." Cisco walks up to us, "So, taking off?" Lisa looks at the man, "Thought I'd say goodbye and thank you."
"Yeah, well, I wouldn't leave a bomb in anyone. Not even you." She tilts her head, "It's more than that. You were there for me when I was feeling weak. I hate feeling weak. It's hard for me to trust people. I trusted you, and Y/N. You know, you might actually be my second real friend." Cisco smirks, "Is any of that true?" Lisa looks back at me before pushing off her bike and kissing Cisco. I raise my brows in amusement. I step away from the bike as she mounts it. "Till next time, Cisco." She winks at me before putting on her helmet and revving the engine. "Later, Golden Glider," Cisco responds, and she speeds off.
I look over at him with a smirk, "I guess we both have a thing for the bad guys." He smiles before shoving me lightly and walking off.

Cisco and I walked into the breach room. "Ta-da, the speed cannon," Caitlin exclaims whilst holding her arms out. "Wow." Cisco and I spoke at the same time. "Look at that. Dudes, you actually built the thing." Stein looks over at Jay, "Mr. Garrick, I am quite impressed by what you've accomplished during my recent wellness hiatus." Cisco turns to Jay, "Have you tested it out yet?"
"Not yet. You wanna do the honors?" Cisco claps excitedly, grabbing a soda can before getting stopped by Stein. "No, no, no, no. Now that I, uh-- now that I am back to optimum health, please allow me." Caitlin tries to stop him from throwing something, but she's too late. The object disappears into the breach and doesn't come back, "Excelsior." Stein exclaims. "How did you stabilize it?" Barry questions Jay.
"CFL Quark Matter." Cisco begins to nerd out, "Ah, negative energy density with positive surface pressure. That's genius." I looked at Jay and raised my brows, "Wait, you created CFL Quark Matter?" Jay shrugs, "Something we perfected on my Earth. I'll show you sometime." Stein remarks, "You mean, sometime in the next few minutes?" Jay frowned, "Oh, yeah, I guess this is it, huh? Time for me to go back home." Caitlin quietly asks, "Right now? I mean, we still need your help with the Breachers."
Jay looks down at her, "My priority is Zoom. I need to find out what he's up to. How he stole my speed." Caitlin shrugs, "But you can do that here, and, you know, if you go back, then we can't get in touch with you when we need your help or..." I traded a familiar look with Barry, a small smirk on my face. "With Zoom or whatever else." Barry steps in, "It would be nice to be able to pick your brain every once in a while, get some more speedster tips."
Jay chuckles, "Okay...once we take care of Zoom, I'm going home." Caitlin nods, "That's fair." Jay laughs, "Good, 'cause I could use a shower, a shave, and some sunlight." Everyone chuckles. Jay takes a few steps before looking back at Cait. "I'll uh, see you later."
Caitlin walks over to Stein as Jay leaves the room. "So, Professor Stein, how are you feeling?" He turns to her, "Well, uh, it appears that a little rest heals all the maladies. I-I-I couldn't feel--" Stein starts to seize, and his eyes flash white. "Professor?" Caitlin takes a step towards him before I grab her arm, pulling her away. Barry doing the same to Cisco. "No, no, no, no, get back." As I pulled her back, Steins's hands and head caught fire, burning a bright orange before flashing into a cool blue, and his eyes were covered in black.
He groans as the fire fades, and he collapses, "Professor Stein! Can you hear me?!" Caitlin calls as we surround the unconscious man. "What happened to him? He went up like Firestorm, but the flame, why was it blue?" Barry asks Cait frantically. "She looks at him, "I don't know. This isn't good. We need to stabilize him fast."

I chuckle, shrugging, "Or maybe you'll be coming to me for a visual of your own suit." He laughs sarcastically, "Hopefully not, but that's not what I came here to talk to you about." Cisco leans on the desk beside my chair.
But I walked away before he saw me, or so I thought." I ran a hand across my face, "When I arrived back at my hotel, he was there.
Not after losing Eddie and Ronnie." Cisco quickly read the letter, "I'm sorry, Y/N." I shrugged it off, "It was the worst day of my life, but I got over it.
And almost every time we spoke, she told me she could see how much Lenny missed me." I chuckled, "I would tell her I missed him too, and she'd tell me to get a grip and call him.

"I'll see you around, Snowflake." ✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Plus, I brought backup." I smiled as Leonard turned, "Hi, Lenny." He frowned, "What're you doing here?" Aggitation drips from his mouth, "I wasn't going to let my brother walk headfirst into danger alone.

"Please, just let me explain." Jay pleads, "I mean you no harm." Before I can verbalise my doubts, Barry speaks, "How do you know my name?" Jay looks around the room, "I know all your names. Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon, Detective Joe West..." Joe cuts him off and raises his gun higher. Jay raises his arms.
"That part about explaining needs to happen right about now." Jay hurriedly explains, "This world is in danger." I look over at Barry, Cisco asks the question we're all asking ourselves, "What other worlds are there?"
"When you created the singularity above Central City, you also created a breach between my world and yours." I interrupt him, "I'm sorry, a breach?" Jay nods, "Yes, a portal connecting our two earths." Stein squints at the man, "And what precisely is your concern?" Jay continues.
"A few days ago, you found a dead man named Al Rothstein at the nuclear plant. But then a different Al Rothstein tried to kill you." Cisco looks over at Barry and me, "Atom Smasher."
"That man was from my world." I turn to look at Barry, and I can't tell if he believes this man. "If he got through the breach, I suspect there'll be more to follow." Barry raises his arms, "Okay, so, Jay, how exactly do you know all of this?" He nods at Barry, "Where I came from, I was a speedster like you. They called me The Flash."
"Before I arrived on your earth, I was in a fight with a man named Zoom." Barry stops him, "Zoom? I've heard that name before. Atom Smasher, he said, Zoom sent him here to kill me. Who is this guy?"
"He's a speedster, like you and me. And fast. Maybe the fastest of all. But evil." I scoff, "Sounds like you're in love with him." Jay looks over at me before continuing. "He is an unstoppable demon with the face of death. We were engaged in our fiercest battle ever, racing throughout my city. But I wasn't fast enough to stop him."
"Zoom has me beaten. He was about to kill me when suddenly there was a blinding light, and the sky split open. A breach between my world and yours, caused by the singularity. It pulled me in...And I somehow ended up in your world. Powerless. Unable to return home."
Caitlin speaks up, "What do you mean?" Jay closes his eyes in disappointment, "I lost my speed." Barry paces behind Iris and me, "How?" Jay shakes his head, "Not entirely sure." Joe looks between Barr and me, and we both shake our heads. Neither of us knows what to make of this. Do we believe him, or do we risk it and kick his ass to the curb?
"So, you've been in Central City for six months. Why haven't you come to see us before?" Jay shrugs and takes a few steps, "I'm in a foreign world here, Detective. I didn't know who you all were. Took me that long to piece it all together."
Iris scoffs, "So that's how you know our names. You've been following us." Jay sighs, "Look, I know how this sounds." I laugh sarcastically, "It sounds like you're a fucking pervert." Barry turns to me and gives me a stern look. I roll my eyes and turn towards the office chair and plop down into it.
"The existence of another earth, you, another Flash, it all came as an unexpected shock to me, too. I wish there was something I could do to convince you." Barry sighs, "There is." He turns towards Cait and Stein, "We're gonna...do some tests on you. See if you're telling us the truth. Cause if you're not, this Zoom, he's not going to be your only enemy."
Hell ya Barry
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"Is any of this possible?" Iris asks, running a hand through her hair furiously. "A breach to another earth? It's no, right?" Stein walks over to her, "The contrary. Just recently, the many-different-worlds theory proposed that interaction with parallel universes was plausible."
He walks around the room, talking with his hands, slight excitement in his voice. "Now, if what Mr Garrick's saying is true, that theory's been proven sooner than we all thought." Barry shakes his head, "It doesn't add up."
Joe sighs, "I'm gonna be honest here, I don't understand what the hell any of you are talking about." I stand from my chair, walk towards the console in the middle of the room, lean against it, and try my best to explain to Joe.
"So, Jay is saying he's from, like, a mirror world. Or a parallel universe that's very, very similar to ours." Stein nods in my direction, "Multiverse would be a more apt description." Joe shakes his head, still not understanding. Cisco frowns, "Bless your heart."
"Okay, let's see if this helps." Walking over to the clear whiteboard, Stein begins explaining in a new way. "This is our earth." He draws a circle on the board, "Let's call it Earth-1. And this second earth, let's call it Earth-2."
Drawing another circle, he turns back to us, "This is where Jay claims to be from. And these other earths, three, four, five, to infinity, all of them are nearly identical to ours. And they all exist at the same time."
He draws more circles and turns back to us, "Giving us endless alternatives to what we have here. For example, the Joe West on Earth-2, your doppleganger, might not be a detective. He could be a Nobel Prize-winning physicist."
Iris and I gaze at each other, smug looks on our faces. "And you, the Barry Allen here is The Flash, but over there, he could be an electrician." Barry chuckles, Joe interrupts, "So, I'm assuming that the people on all these other earths work to make money to pay bills and such."
Stein nodded, "I would imagine." Joe smirks, "So we got that in common. I'm heading back to the station. Call me when this makes a little bit more sense. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole idea of time travel." Cisco and I laugh softly.
Sighing, Stein takes a step towards us, "There is uh, one problem that remains. If Mr Garrick is telling the truth, there is a breach somewhere in Central City that we need to find and close for good."
"Yeah, but how do we find it?" Cisco asks, and I agree with his statement, "He's right. I mean, we don't even know what to look for." Stein suggests everyone puts their heads together to come up with a plan.
As Cisco and Stein leave the room, Iris looks between Barry and me. Before she can speak any words, Caitlin approaches, "Hey, what'd you find?" I ask, "Well, Jay's heart rate is extraordinarily low. And he does have regenerative capabilities. Other than that, I'm not seeing any evidence of the Speed Force in his system."
Barry gives her a look, "We don't even have proof that he's a speedster, much less from another earth?" Caitlin shakes her head, "Not necessarily." I step forward, questioning the doctor, "What does that mean?" She nervously looks off to the side before looking back at us.
"Well, Jay doesn't know this, but while I was testing his heart rate, blood pressure, and motor responses, I also measured his autonomic reactions while we were talking." Iris smiles, "You gave him a lie detector test?"
I laugh, "You know, you could've asked me to do that." Caitlin nods shyly, "Yeah, I know. But, he passed it." Barry breathes in deeply before looking towards the man in the lab. Shaking his head, he huffs, "What if he's not a good guy, and he just wants to find our weaknesses?"
Turning his attention, he continues, "Keep running tests. See what else you can find out."

As the doors to the pipeline closed, I watched Barry step away from the screen and step towards Jay. "I hope you understand why we have to do this." The man nods, "I get it, kid. You're doing what you think you have to." He looks around the cell.
"But you'll all realise soon enough that this. The tests, it's unnecessary. I want to help you, Barry, not harm you." Barry shakes his head, "You're not the first person that's said that to me." Jay huffs.
"If what you told me about Zoom is true, that he sent Rothstein here to kill you, instead of locking me up in here, you'd better start listening. Because if Zoom is involved, you're gonna need a lot more than just me at your side to stay alive."
Cisco's voice rings through the speakers, "Barry, Y/N, there's a fire at the waterfront. Fire department's en route." Barry looks back at me, and I nod, "We're on our way." He answers, Jay tells us to be careful, Barry just nods, and speeds off.
Turning away from the man, I place my palms together, dragging them apart slowly. A purple mist surrounds them as the air in front of me begins to rip, focusing on my location. The waterfront. Once big enough, I jump through, and as I land on the ground, a purple glamour flows over my body. My original outfit turns into my suit.
Barry speeds beside me, "You're getting better at opening your portals." I smirk, looking over at him. "Save the compliments for after we've put out the fire." Barry smiles and winds his arms in circles to pull the oxygen from the fire.
As the fire dies down, Barry hunches over, "That was a big fire." I smirk, "Aw, is our little speedster tired?" He looks up at me and flips me off. I laugh loudly and raise my hands in defence. "It's out, Cisco."
His voice rings through the comms, "Copy that, see you in a bit." The sound of rustling behind us causes us to trade looks of concern. As we turn around, Barry gets punched, sending him flying backwards. I cover my eyes as sand flies all around the room.
Barry's quick to rise to his feet, the sand around him slowly retracting into the body of a shaggy-looking man. "I thought it would be harder than this." He raises his arm into the air, swinging it towards Barry and me.
A fist made of sand came flying towards us. Barry speeds towards the man, attempting to grab him as I raise my hands, palms up, and create a glowing purple forcefield around myself, protecting me from the sand.
As Barry makes contact with the Meta, he turns his entire body to sand. Flying past him, the man disappears, "Barry?" Cisco's concerned voice rings into my ear. "Hello? Are you there? What was that?"
Shrugging, Barry responds, "I don't know. We need to find out." He grabs my arm and speeds us back to S.T.A.R. Labs.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Walking onto the crime scene with Joe, looking around as if Barry and I weren't just there a couple of hours ago. "Bar," Joe calls out. Barry turns to greet us. "What're we dealing with here?" Barry sighs, "Well, definitely a meta-human. Had a pretty solid look at him between punches."
Barry looks around, "And he was, like, made of sand." Joe raises his eyebrows, "Sand?" and Barry and I nod, "These walls are too porous to pull any prints. I can't even get one off the boat, but check this out." Barry walks us over to the other side of the boathouse.
"There's gasoline burns everywhere." He points towards the wall across from us before practically spinning in a circle. "Water didn't go off. Sprinklers weren't working. This was arson." I sigh, there's never a dull moment in this damned city.
"Excuse me? Barry Allen?" We turn as the voice grows closer. I watch Joe and Barry's reaction to the woman and scoff quietly. "Two days in a row, Officer. What a coincidence." She smirks, "Or kismet, if you believe in destiny or fate."
Turning her attention back towards Barry, she holds out her hand, "I'm Patty. Patty Spivot." Barry nervously sends her a 'Hey.' Shaking his hand, she continues, "I'm really excited to meet you." She turns towards me, "And, you too. Y/N Allen. I'm a huge fan."
She holds her hand out to me, but I don't take it. "Sorry, I don't like physical contact with people I don't know." She nods in understanding. "And, I'm sorry, huge fan?" She smiles wider, if that's even possible, "Oh, I read your police reports, and your." She turns to Barry.
"Forensic reports sometimes." I nod reluctantly, "Oh, who am I kidding. I read them all the time. I've actually read them all." I throw a reluctant smile in there, too. This chick is creepy. "Wow, I don't think that I've read them all." Barry smiles.
She looks between both of us, "They're always so detailed. You know, they really paint a picture like you were somehow actually there when someone was brutally murdered." Barry says a nervous thanks, and I turn away to prevent myself from laughing.
"Anyhow, I-I found something. Well, I think I found something. It's just a theory, but I would like to show you." I roll my eyes. She seems a little too excited about a burned boathouse for me, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.
We follow her into a back room, "So, this right here is the point of origin of the fire. And look. I don't know a sandblaster on the market that can make a cut that precise, so I think a meta-human may have done this." Joe and I side-eye each other, and she hands Barry a sample she grabbed.
"Uh, there's also some fingerprints on the back of the pipe." Barry laughs, looking down at the sample, "You should have gone into CSI work." She looks around the room with a bright smile, "I love the science, but out here's where all the action is. Isn't that right, Detective West?"
He smiles sarcastically and walks over to her, muttering something before walking off. I follow Joe, "So, what was that about?" I ask, He sighs. "She wants to join the Anti-Meta Human Taskforce that Singh gave us." I nod understandingly, "And, let me guess, you turned her down." He smirks at me, "Yep." And walks away.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry handed Cisco the sample as soon as we got back to the Lab, "Found it at the crime scene. I mean, it’s gotta be from the meta-human that attacked me.” Barry shrugs as Cisco examines the bottle of sand. “Huh. What is this stuff? Sand?” Barry sighs, shrugging, and Cisco looks up at him.
“It’s not sand.” Jay, standing in the doorway of the cortex, speaks. “It’s human cells whose myosin II protein have migrated to the cell’s periphery.” Cisco and I exchange questioning looks.
Caitlin looks between us, ”Jay’s a fellow science nerd.” Jay nods, “Those cells have the ability to rearrange and harden, giving them the appearance of sand.” Barry places his hands on his hips, “And how do you know this?”
“They belong to a meta-human I fought on my world, named Sand Demon.” Cisco stands and steps towards Jay, “I know you’re new here, so I’m just gonna break it down for you. The whole 'naming the bad guys thing, that’s my jam.
”But you know what? I’m gonna let you have this one ‘cause I actually kinda like it.” The excitement in his voice causes me to snicker. “Hold up,” I walk up to Jay, “Is that Barry’s sweatshirt?”
“Oh, uh, sorry.” Iris looks over at me, “It was all we could find, so…” Barry looks at Jay, and Cisco chuckles, “I was gonna say, ‘cause it looks a lot smaller on you. Right?” Cisco cchuckles. He looks around the room.
I look him dead in his eyes with a ‘Are you serious?’ look. He stops laughing and looks down at the sand. “I gotta do this thing.” His happiness fades, and he walks out. I shake my head at his retreating figure, “So, who is this Sand Demon?” Iris asks. “I don’t know his name, but I know how to stop him."
Caitlin smiles at the man's words, "You know what?" Barry asks, scrunching his face. "I think we'll be fine on our own." Jay huffs, "Look, Barry, I don't know what else I can do to prove to you I'm on your side. I've been poked, prodded. I even subjected myself to a full body scan." Raising my eyebrows as my eyes scan over to Caitlin in surprise.
She looks at me, then back at Jay, "I was being thorough." I chuckle, "Sure you were, Cait." And taking a step forward, Jay continues. "Sand Demons from my world. Let me teach you how to stop him." Barry shakes his head, "Yeah, I don't need you to teach me anything, Jay."
The man frowns, "Zoom sent Rothstein here to kill you. He must have sent Sand Demon here to do the same thing. Don't you get it? Anyone close to the Flash, all of you, are in a lot of danger." Barry stalks towards Jay, "Alright. If you're so good, you would've caught him already. Let's get Jay back to his cell." Barry walks off, and Caitlin steps towards Jay to take him back to the pipeline.
My phone vibrates in my pocket, and taking it out, a notification from the photos app. Memories from a year ago, a few pictures of me, Barry, and Iris. Some of me with Caitlin and Cisco getting coffee at Jitters. Iris catches me smiling at my phone, "What's got you smiling so hard?" I walk to sit next to her at the control desk.
"Look at these." We scroll through some more photos, laughing at one of Barry after he fell off the treadmill again. Scrolling once more, the laughter dies, a photo of me and Harrison illuminating the screen. It was after one of our dates, during the time no one knew about us, still trying to figure out how to be romantic with each other.
His hand in mine as he places a kiss on my cheek, I didn't even realise I was crying until Iris placed her hand on mine, calling out to me. "Y/N?" I couldn't look at her, my voice cracking, "I thought I deleted this, I could've sworn I deleted every picture I had with him. I returned all the things he bought for me. Sold the car he gave me and bought a new one. Burned all the clothes I wore around him."
Iris wraps her arms around me, rubbing my back and soothing my cries. "It's okay, Y/N. No one would hate you for not being able to let go. You spent seven months and some change with him." My tears flow freely. I know she's right, but his voice rings in my head.
'Those moments will stay with you forever; they will haunt you forever.'
Before I can respond, footsteps coming down the hall towards the cortex cause me to shoot upwards and wipe my tears. "Hey, Y/N. Joe needs us down at the precinct." Barry's voice echoes down the hall. I attempt to make myself look like I wasn't just crying into Iris's shoulder.
As he turns the corner into the cortex, I stand and nod my head. "You okay?" He asks, looking between Iris and me. I nod, not trusting my voice not to crack. He nods hesitantly before turning away, "Okay, well, he needs us now." I nod again, following him out of the room.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I roll my eyes, spinning myself in the chair left in the observation room. Joe's interrogating the suspect, while Barry and Spivot are very obliviously and painfully flirting with each other. "So, Joe told me what you did. I'm impressed." Spivot chuckles, "No, all I did was, you know, run the other print from the electrical pipe, then track Slick down from there."
They chuckle together, and I roll my eyes again. "How's it going with Joe? Any closer to cracking his no-code?" Barry asks whilst smiling. "Are you kidding me? He's like the permission Sphinx. Or like a magic eight ball with just one answer. Or like, the Bridgekeeper protecting the Holy Grail."
"What is your question?"
"To join you taskforce."
"No."
They both yell, and I lay my head on the desk. I would rather sit at my desk doing a mountain of paperwork than sit here and listen to this anymore. Joe motions for Barry and me to leave the room, and I can't help but feel relieved. "Finally." I sigh, walking past both of them and over to the door.
On the other side, Joe leads us away from the room, "Okay, so, Slick wasn't in Central City the night the particle accelerator exploded." Barry frowns, "He's lying." Shrugging Joe answers, "He's a dirtbag and an arsonist, but he's not lying about this. He's not a meta, Barry." Barry shakes his head, "Slick is the guy who jumped me. You can ask Y/N, she was there too."
"Do either of you think the Slick in there may have a--" Joe waves his hand around, trying to find the word. "A doppelganger?" Barry and I say at the same time, Barry sighs, "I don't know."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
As Barry and I walk into the cortex, Iris makes eye contact with me. I can tell she wants to talk, but I can't. I shouldn't have spoken about it in the first place; talking about it causes people to worry, and we already have enough to worry about. "Yo, that sample you gave us? Not sand. Definitely human cells."
Barry sighs, "Yeah, I know. It's not him, I get it." Cisco shrugs, "I hate to say it, but I think this Earth-2 theory is starting to make sense." Barry rolls his eyes, "For real?" Iris's irritated expression rings clear on her face. "What, you think Jay is lying about the Sand Demon?"
Barry shrugs, "I don't know. That's my point. I'm not gonna just believe some guy that walks in here and says a few things that sort of check out." Cisco scowls, "Sort of? He was--he was right about Zoom."
Barry laughs, trying to keep his cool, "We don't even know anything about Zoom. What is Zoom? Is Zoom even real? Right now, that's just, you know, a story around a campfire." He turns towards Stein, standing at the control desk, "I mean, have you discovered a breach yet?" Whom slowly shakes his head, "Not yet, but we know how to now."
Barry sighs, turning towards Caitlin, "Have you found one thing to suggest that Jay is a speedster? Is the Speed Force even in his system?" She shakes her head, "It doesn't appear to be, no." Barry turns towards the rest of us, "See? We are scientists." He points to Iris, "You are a journalist."
He points at me, "You are a detective. We test, we prove, we report. That's what we do. Except right now, nobody here wants to do any of that except me." He looks around the room once more, and when no one speaks, he sighs. "Can we have the room for a minute?"
Barry sighs once more, and as everyone leaves, I attempt to sneak away with them, "Not you, Y/N, you stay." When I attempt to argue, I just receive a stern look. I raise my hands in defence and stand next to Barry. "What has happened to you?" Barry looks stunned, "Are you--me?" Iris leans onto the desk behind her, "Yes, you. Actually, both of you. The ones I grew up with. The ones that are my best friends. The ones that became the Flash and Magick. "
I turned to her, flabbergasted, "What the hell did I do?" She arches her brow, "You know what you did, but I haven't seen those sides of you in a very long time." Barry paces, "A lot's changed, Iris." She nods, "Yeah, it sure has. You have learned not to trust people."
"What is it about Jay that you both don't like?" Barry shakes his head, and I sigh, "I don't know." Iris walks towards us, "It's because he reminds you of Harrison Wells." I looked away, Barry shook his head, "I trusted that man. For months. We all did. Y/N more than the rest of us."
"And you know what? Eddie is dead. Ronnie is dead. And a whole lot of other people in this city, they are dead because we trusted him. I'm not gonna let us make that mistake again." Iris gives Barry a soft look and moves to lean on the control desk, right between us. "Barry, not everyone is Harrison Wells. Besides, you both defeated him because you trusted in people."
"Because you believed in them. This team that you both have here, they will follow your lead. They'll do what you say. But if they think that you don't believe in them." Iris shakes her head, "It won't be long before they don't believe in you."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry left to talk to Jay, but here I am. Still receiving a stern look from Iris, whilst I try my best to avoid eye contact. "Y/N. We need to talk." I sigh, "There's nothing to talk about, Iris." She frowns, "Look, I know this isn't what you'd prefer to do with your time, but I can tell how much this is hurting you."
She sits next to me, "I can't say, I understand what you're feeling, but I can tell you that you will get better. That one day, when you look back on that day. Everything will feel like just a bad dream." I scoff, "A bad dream? How will any of this feel like a bad dream?" I stand from my seat, causing the chair to fly backwards.
"This is a fucking nightmare, Iris. The man I loved turned out to be the man who killed my mom. Who tried to kill my brother, and who almost killed Cisco." Tears fill my eyes, as they glow purple, "He's the reason Eddie's dead, while Barry was off saving Central City, I was having a panic attack. While Ronnie was sacrificing himself, I was huddled in the corner, crying."
"All this is." I gesture to myself, "It's a fucking nightmare. And I hate it, he taught me everything I know. He taught me how to open portals, to send out blasts of energy, of fire, to read minds, and create shields. Without him, I couldn't have gotten this far. Without him, I'd be nothing, I am nothing."
Iris stands, pulling me into a tight hug. "You aren't nothing, you're Y/N, you're a daughter, a sister, a friend. And a royal pain in my ass." She chuckles lightly, "But I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know what any of us would do without you."
She pulls away, keeping her hands on my shoulders. "I don't know what tomorrow holds for us, nor how long this is last. But I do know this, you will always have people in your life who will fight for you. People who will make you laugh, cry, scream, and irritate the hell out of you. But we will never give up on you."
Giving her a small smile, the purple fades from my eyes. She wraps her arms around me once more, "We'll always be here for you, and if you ever. And I mean ever need to talk, please don't hide away, talk to me. Please." I nod into her shoulder, and she gives me a squeeze in response. "I love you so much, Y/N. Never forget that."
"I love you too, Iris. Always."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"We're looking for any structures that promote humidity. Greenhouses, grow rooms, anything of the sort. His body will literally start to fall apart if he becomes dehydrated." Caitlin smiles, "Like dry sand." Jay nods, "Exactly. Sand Demon always attacks on two fronts. He creates a diversion, then strikes when you're distracted."
Barry shrugs, "Okay, then what do we do?" Jay nods towards Barry, "We use your speed to get to him before the distraction can happen." Barry scoffs, "Jay, how do I stop somebody who can slip through my fingers?"
With a shrug, Jay finishes his plan, "The way I was never able to. With lightning." Cisco claps, "Yo, are you about to pull a Zeus right now?" Iris pitches in, asking Jay, "What're you talking about?" Jay smirks, "Barry's gonna hurl lightning from the energy he creates when he runs."
Caitlin smirks, continuing Jay's sentence, "Because lightning plus sand equals--." Barry smirks, "Glass. But if we're talking about something hot enough to turn him into glass, why doesn't Y/N just?" Barry raises his hand, palm stretched outwards and thrusts it forward.
"Okay, first of all, I don't look like that. And secondly, even if I tried, I don't believe I could make a fire that burns hot enough without facing some serious damage myself." Barry nods in understanding. Jay takes a step forward, "Time to learn something new, kid." Barry laughs softly before agreeing.
Barry walks over to Joe, who's pacing in the hallway, as I go to follow, a hand lands on my arm. I turn to see Caitlin standing beside me, "Hey, Cait. Is everything alright?" She frowns slightly, "How have your powers been feeling lately? Any headaches when using them?"
I smile, "If you're trying to subtly ask me how I'm feeling, you're not that subtle. But I'm okay, Iris and I talked. I finally got some things off my chest, and I'm feeling better. I promise." She nods, a faint smile on her face, "I'm glad. Just know I'm here if you need to talk." She hugs me before walking over to Cisco.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I walk into the training room, Barry's speeding around, a red blur mixed with bright orange-yellow lightning. I step onto the platform in the middle of the room while asking Jay. "Hey. How's it going?" Before he can answer, Barry throws a lightning bolt, and it completely misses the target. "Bad." He responds to me before demanding that Barry go again.
"I've been doing this for an hour. It's not working." Barry huffs, "It's because you're trying to rush into it. This is the one time you need to slow down." Jay walks down the steps of the platform and over to Barry.
"Let the energy pass over you, then simply direct it to where you want it to go." Barry interrupts him, "All right, Jay...I don't know if I'm gonna get this in time."
"You'll get it. I believe in you." Barry inhales deeply, "The last person who helped me like this was a man I looked up to. Idolized. He taught me how to get faster, how to get stronger, how to use my powers to save people. That same man murdered our mother." He nods his head in my direction.
Jay takes a couple more steps towards Barry, "It's a tough break, but I'm not him." Barry nods, "I know where they are!" Cisco yells, running into the room, Stein following. The three of us walk over to Cisco. "The abandoned Woodrue grow house. That's where Slick's keeping Patty." Barry hugs Cisco, but my eyes locked onto Steins' expression.
In his eyes, there are flickers of confusion and worry. Cisco continues, "And I was thinking, if I were Sand Demon and I were attacking a speedster on two fronts, I would probably want to slow you down, like, by using a concussive bomb or something like that."
The look in Stein's eyes returns as he looks over at Barry. "That's a good thought. He's actually used one on me before. His body absorbs the blast, so it doesn't affect him." Jay looks over at Barry, "Well, kid, gonna have to think of something."
I look at Barry, "You know what? What if we give Slick a diversion? He knows you, right? You said you went up against him." Jay shuffles, "Yeah, but, Barry, I don't have my speed." Barry shakes his head with a smile. "He doesn't know that. You got your suit?" Jay nods, "Sure. Well, except my helmet."
Stein interferes, "Helmet?" I smirk and ask, "Silver kettle helmet? Gold wings?" Jay sports a baffled look, glancing at me, "Don't tell me you guys found it."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
As Caitlin hands Jay the hat, he smirks. "Never thought I'd see that again. It was my father's from the War of the Americas." Cisco cut in, "I'm sorry, did you just say War of the Americas?" Barry smiles, "I wish you had just told us you lost your helmet. Would have saved us all a headache."
Jay places the helmet on his head. Barry takes a step towards the man, "Well, sure you want to do this, Flash?" He smirks, "Yeah." He looks at Barry, "Let's go see what you're made of...Flash."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I chose to sit out of this one since Barry had Jay as his upperhand so he didn't need me there with him. As the fight commences, Jay distracts Sand Demon, so Barry can grab Spivot. Once she's out of the chair, the shockwave hits them like a physical blow. Almost mimicking a real bomb.
As Jay said, the device does almost nothing to Sand Demon, "Must be my lucky day. Zoom sent me here to kill you. Now I get to kill The Flash from two worlds before I go home." The meta grabs Jay by the throat, lifting him into the air.
Caitlin gasps, "He's choking Jay!" Iris leans towards the mic, "Barry, you gotta do something now." Jay nods at Barry, who takes off running around the pair. Slick drops Jay, watching Barry run around him, "Come on!" The man yells, Barry stops in front of him, winding his arm back and swinging it forward.
Lightning flies off his hand, right into Slick's chest. The impact sends him into the air, flying backwards as his body solidifies, turning into glass, and shattering as it hits the ground.
As Jay congratulates Barry, I chuckle, shaking my head, speaking through the mic. "Good job, Flash. Both of you."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Caitlin patches Jay up after they both arrived back at the Lab. Barry goes to talk to him, and I go to find Cisco. As I'm walking down the halls, I smile, reminiscing about a time whenlife wasn't so complicated. When it was just Barry, Iris, and I against the world.
I walk into Cisco's small lab, "Hey, whatcha doing?" Cisco turns his head, looking at me before turning back to the screens, "I'm using electrophotography to search for any breaches." I nod in understanding, "Okay, have you found anything yet?" He shakes his head, "The satellite picture of the city is still rendering."
"Okay." I walk around his desk and place my hands on the surface, "While we wait, want to tell me what's going on with you?" Shaking his head, he gives me a confused look, "What? Nothing." I smirk, "Stein told me what happened, or technically, his expression did. But when I asked him about it, he seemed worried about you."
I cross my arms across my chest, "Two hunches in one day. Slick's locale, and that he'd be using a concussive bomb to thwart Barry. Do I need to have Stein come in here and tell you the odds of such predictions?" Cisco looks away from his computer, a soft melancholy look written on his face.
"Something's happening to me. I'm starting to perceive things. Horrible things. It started after Wells killed me in the other timeline. It came back when Atom Smasher attacked on Flash Day, and then again when Sand Demon showed up. I get a vibe, and then a vision of something that's already happened, and then it's gone."
Cisco slightly nods his head, "That's how I knew where Slick was." I smile softly, "Cisco, this is amazing. Stein could study this, figure out just what to do. Help you learn to control it." Cisco shakes his head, standing from his chair and pointing a finger at me, "No, no, no, we're not doing any of that, and we're certainly not telling anybody, either."
I scoff at his words, "Cisco, I would've thought you'd be the one most intrigued with knowing exactly what this is and how it works." He fumes, "Y/N, I'm seeing things I don't want to see. And knowing things I don't want to know. I just want it to stop. Y/N, I don't want anyone to know about this. Not yet."
He walks to the other side of the desk, "You're scared. I get it, it's okay to be afraid. God knows I was, how could I not be, waking up from a coma? Realising I could do things that no human should be able to." Cisco turns back to me, "Wells told me this was my future. That he gave me this power. But everything he did was evil. That's what scares me, Y/N."
He takes a slow step, "You have to promise me, you won't tell anyone about this." I smile sadly, "I won't say anything, Cisco." I want to comfort him, tell him that Wells' words don't mean anything. That the power you have doesn't make you evil, but your words and actions do.
But before I can, his computer starts beeping, and he moves to look at the screen. Many bright lights illuminate the screen, varying in size. "Oh, wow." I chuckle, "So, I'm guessing this is what you were looking for?" He nods.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"It appears that while we were indeed successful in closing the singularity, there was an unfortunate side effect." Stein walks up to the control board. "What are you talking about?" Barry's confused voice questions, "Using electrophotography, Cisco and I were able to search Central City for any signs of energy entering our earth from another dimension."
Stein gestures to Jay, "From any 'breaches', as Mr Garrick described them." Cisco cuts in, "But, of course, there isn't just one breach. There are 52 of them scattered throughout the city." Caitlin sighs, lowering her head, "These breaches are pockets of time and space folded into and upon itself."
Stein takes a breath, "But the most significant breach of all appears to be this one." He motions to the screen, and as Cisco presses a button on his remote, it zooms in on the biggest light. "And where exactly is that located?" I ask, "Stein looks over at me, "It's here, inside S.T.A.R. Labs."
I huff, annoyance dripping from my voice. "Of course it is." Stein continues, "And just beyond that breach is an entirely diff--fferent--" His voice fades out, as he collapses to the floor. All bodies in the room rush over to him.
"Professor? Professor!"

Six months after facing the singularity, Barry decided it would be best if Team Flash split, to keep us all "safe". Which obviously was a fat load of shit, I knew how he thought. "Barry believes that everything was his fault. That he single-handedly caused the singularity." Joe and I were walking onto a new crime scene, which Barry was most definitely already at.
"Just give him space, Y/N, you know it's what's best for him," Joe responds. "I'm worried that if we give him too much space, he won't come back," I huffed, watching as Barry stared down at the body below him. Once we got closer, "How's it going?" Joe asks, "Hey. Uh, good. How you doing?" Joe nods his head to the side.
"Good. So, the victim. His name was Al Rothstein. He's a welder here at the nuclear plant. Co-worker found him this morning. So, what do you got?"
"Petechiae on his face and the whites of his eyes, and this bruising on his neck..." Barry gestures to his neck, "Oh, so he was strangled." Barry hums in agreement, "By someone very strong and very large." I look closer, "Or something?" I spoke up. He shakes his head at me, "This wasn't Grodd." And Joe lets out a sigh of relief, "Look, I'll let you know when I find more."
He stands, ready to take off. "So, this Flash Day thing. I'm hoping you're planning on making an appearance." Joe smirks at Barry, "Ah, I haven't really decided." "Barry, the mayor's trying to give you the key to the city." He sighs and shakes his head, "I don't need an award." I rolled my eyes, "Barry, you love getting awards. Like all the ones we got in school."
He huffs, "Those I deserved. I'll let you know what I find, all right?" As he walks away, I turn to Joe, "You know I'm really starting to hate this 'Give him space' plan.

"Flash Day is almost here. A special downtown rally to honor the man who saved Central City." The news anchor's voice echoes around the precinct. Joe watches the screen with a small smile on his face, "It's been six months since the Flash saved Central City from the freak black hole that erupted in the sky." I sighed from my seat behind Joe's desk.
"Joe, Y/N, where are we with the murder at the nuclear plant?" Cpt. Singh walks towards us, "Barry's still analyzing the evidence, but there was definitely something weird." Singh nods, "Yeah, which is why I let you have that Anti-Meta-Human Task Force. Speaking of which, where is your scientific advisor?"
"Ho, ho, ho! Fear the beard!" Cisco exclaims whilst pushing a cart full of things. Clearing his throat at the sight of Singh's glare, "It's a very distinguished look...sir." Singh looks down at the cart, "What is all this, Mr. Ramon?" He seems to light up at the question, "Oh, this right here? This is a little something I'm working on. I'm cooking it up for Joe and the task force to take down meta-humans. I think I'm gonna call it the boot. Oh, here are the receipts."
Handing Singh a stack of papers, he sighs before walking past the two men. "Oh, um, Captain, one more thing." Without turning around, he yells, "You're not getting a badge, Mr. Ramon." He walks into his office and closes the door.
Turning back to us, he sighs. "He's really stingy with those badges, isn't he?" I laugh and walk around the desk, leaning on the other side, "Yeah, cops are funny that way. So you really think you can get this to work? Don't have me caught out on the streets with my pants down." I clear my throat from behind them, "Ah, sorry. Us."
I nod for him to continue, with a smile on my face. "Yes, once I finish the Boot, CCPD will totally have what it needs to take down a meta-human. Especially now that Barry has decided to go all Lone Wolf McQuade and fight crime himself." Jpe holds his hand out, "I know, right? Have you spoken to him?" He shakes his head, "Not recently. Haven't even heard from Caitlin since she started working at Mercury Labs."
I frown at the mention of her; she's been going through a lot since she lost Ronnie again. I can only imagine what she must be feeling, though, I don't blame her for leaving S.T.A.R. Labs. Iris rushes in with a smile on her face, "Hi, Cisco. Hi, Dad." She hugs Joe before stepping to hug me. "Hey, baby."
She looks between the three of us, "I was wondering if you talked to Barry about the rally." Joe mentions that we were just talking about it, "I'm sorry, but I can't believe they're gonna give the Flash the key to the city. Although technically, as members of Team Flash, we should all be getting keys."
I scoffed, "Thank you! Someone finally said it. Especially me, seeing as I'm always out there risking my life right next to him." Iris smiles at me, "Well, you know Barry. The more we try to convince him to do something, the less he's gonna want to do it." Joe sighs.
"Yeah, but he should go. Someone should try to get through to him." I smile and look at Joe before looking at Iris, "Yeah, someone should. Maybe his best friend," Cisco sighs, "Y/N, believe me, I've tried." I frowned, rolling my eyes. Iris and I rolled our eyes as I spoke.
"I meant her." She smiles at him as she walks away.

Leaning on the cop cruiser, next to Joe and Cisco, and looking around, "You really think he's gonna show?" Joe sighs, "I hope." Cisco looks around, "We expecting trouble?" Joe smiles, "Cops always expect trouble. In this city, I expect super evil flying monsters." I scoff, smirking slightly. "No way." Cisco and Joe both turn towards me, "What?"
I nod my head towards what I was looking at. "I didn't think she was going to come, I mean, I told her I'd love to see her here, but I didn't think she would actually show." I wanted to go and talk to her, but the sound of the crowd cheering caused me to turn towards the stage.
"Good morning, Central City! A year ago, our world changed. Our city became ground zero for...some pretty weird stuff."
"We got a new breed of criminal. Men and women who defied not only our laws, but physics and reason. But we got something else, too. We got the Flash!" The crowd breaks into applause. "Our wounds run deep, and I know many of you are afraid of what threats tomorrow may bring. But the Flash doesn't just protect us; he restores hope where it was lost. That's why I'm honored to present the key to the man who saved Central City: the Flash!"
Cheering erupts again before quickly dying down, and looks of disappointment flash on the faces in the crowd before a blur of red speeds onto the stage. Cheers and applause ring out again as Barry shakes hands with the Mayor.
A chant of "Flash" echoes through the crowd. He smiles and waves as he looks out onto the crowd. Joe and I smile brightly. Showing just how proud we were of the hero he became, "The doors to Central City will forever be open for you, Flash." He nods and smiles as he reaches for the key. A scream sounds, and Joe and I yell.
"Look out!" As a food cart comes hurtling down towards Barry. He grabs the Mayor and speeds him to safety. He looks around for the threat and turns towards us, "I got this, alright?" Looking at him like he has two heads, I scoff, "Barry, I don't know if you've noticed, that guy is like two times your height."
He rolls his eyes, "The man who saved Central City, hate to rain on your parade." Barry rushes towards the man just to get smacked backwards. "Barry!" I yell and rush towards him, and the other cops begin shooting at the meta. "Barry, wake up." I grab his shoulders and shake him, "Come on, Barry, wake the fuck up."
A purple hue surrounds both my hands, and I use it to deliver a powerful shock to his body. Joe shoots the boot at the meta, and instead of it incapacitating him, it causes him to grow bigger. "Cisco, you said this thing would take him down. He's not going down." Barry gasps as he sits up.
I help him stand slowly, "You alright?" He nods and starts to look around frantically. Speeding off before he's right in front of us again, holding two propane tanks. "What're you doing?" Joe asks, "I'm throwing, you're shooting."
Barry throws the tanks, and Joe pulls out his gun and shoots them. Barry speeds back towards Joe as the blast sends shrapnel everywhere. Causing me to throw my hands up as a purple forcefield forms around me, acting as a shield.
Barry grabs his thigh and groans, a large piece of metal sticking out of it. "That's Al Rothstein." Joe points at the meta, who has removed his mask, "The body we found down at the nuclear plant. He's alive."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"According to the coroner's office, Al Rothstein's body was in the morgue all night, so we scratch off zombie attack." Joe looks at Cisco, shock written clearly across his face. "Rothstein have a twin brother?" Cisco scrolls a bit, "Nope. Only child. And get this, the night the accelerator exploded, Rothstein was on his honeymoon, in Hawaii."
I sigh and walk to the other side of Cisco's desk. "So, we're looking for a guy who's really strong, can grow twice his size, and just happens to look exactly like the guy he murdered?" Cisco crosses his arms and leans back, "I would think this meta was really cool if everything about him didn't just terrify me to my core."
I stare at the screen and space out before I hear Iris's voice from beside me. "Hey. So, the hospital next to the Flash Day rally. The X-ray and CT machines all failed at once. Was that because of you?" We all turn to Cisco, who frowns. "I did not do anything that would cause that. I'm 92% sure."
And from the looks he recieves he nods his head, "I'm gonna go make that 100. Excuse me." I smile, turning back to Iris and Joe, she grabs both of us and pulls us away from prying ears. "Barry can't do this alone anymore." Joe sighs, "That's his plan, and I don't know how to talk him out of it. At this point, I'm just trying not to push him further away."
Iris looks at me, "Well, maybe Barry has been so successful at pushing us away, because we keep letting him. Let's not let him." Joe shrugs, "What do you suggest?" I smirked, "If you keep getting 'no' as an answer," Iris looked over at me as she finished my sentence, "Stop asking questions."
Joe looked between the two of us, "I say that. You quoting me to me?" We smiled, "Well, what can we say? You are a very smart man." He laughs and wraps his arms around us both.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry sits in his office, staring at the cover of the newspaper, "You know, you really shouldn't be looking at that." His head shoots up as he stares at me, sighing, he throws the newspaper onto the table. "Why, it's not like they aren't telling the truth." The smirk on my face turns into a sad smile as I approach his desk, leaning against the side before pushing myself up to sit on top.
"Not to me. Because what I saw out there was my older brother being a hero. Saving lives, like he always has." He looks away, "I'm no ones hero." I smile, "You're mine, and I don't know if that means anything to you. But it does to me." Before he can respond, a voice calls from the doorway.
"Mr. and Ms. Allen. Y/N and Barry Allen?"
We nod, "I'm Greg Turk. I'm an attorney at Weathersby and Stone. I don't usually make house calls, but I've been trying to reach you both for several months." He shakes Barry's hand before extending his out towards me, and I just stare. He lowers his hand, "Yes. Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I've just, um. I've been really busy with work. We both have."
He gestures between us, "We need to talk about S.T.A.R. Labs. As you know, Harrison Wells left the property to Ms. Allen as part of his living trust." I sigh, "Yeah, which I did not ask him to do, but Barry's been keeping the place up." Turk looks around the room.
"Well, it's gonna take more than cleaning the floors to retain it, I'm afraid."
"The facility and the real estate are scheduled to go into receivership at the end of the week unless...you watch this." He pulls out a USB hard drive and holds it towards me. "What is this?" I asked as I grabbed it, "A video message drafted by Dr. Wells." Barry's brow furrows, "What's on it? Have you seen it?" Turk shakes his head.
"No. He was very specific. It was only to be watched by Ms. Allen. The device will send me a notification after you've viewed it. And at that point, I'll have everything ready to execute." I huffed, placing the USB onto the table, "I'm not gonna watch that."
He looks down at me, "Well, that's up to you, Ms. Allen. I'm only here to represent Harrison Wells' final request. Good day." He walks out of the room, and I stare down at the drive and sigh.
Barry looks over at me, "I thought that his being dead meant we wouldn't have to deal with him anymore." Barry shakes his head and shrugs before an alert pops up on his screen. An alert from S.T.A.R. Labs, as he speeds off, I bring my hands to the open space infront of me and pull them apart, opening a rift in the open space and jumping through.
Landing in the cortex, my eyes lit up as I saw Iris, Cisco, and Stein standing at the console. "What're you guys doing here?" Barry asks, "Working." Iris responds, and Cisco sends a smile in my direction before turning back to Stein. "So, Caitlin was right." Stein nods, "Yes, all humans contain small amounts of radiation due to contact with cell phones, microwaves, televisions, et cetera. Our bodies are natural conductors." Barry looks over at Joe, who stands off to the side.
Cisco nods, "I think our meta's been sucking up all the radiation around him and using it to power himself." Iris continues, "Which is why the X-ray machines at the hospital failed the day of the rally." I stepped forward, "So if we want to find him, we gotta look for places without radiation."
Cisco begins typing, and Barry takes a step forward, "All right, guys, I don't want any of you here right now." Joe walks towards him, "Tough. You need your partners. You need your friends." I nod, "Barry, everyone in this room cares about you, but we also care about this city. We all want to make a difference, and that means fighting meta-humans and working with the Flash. You can't deny us that. Not anymore."
"Got him. There's a three-block dead zone near a hazardous waste reclamation plant. It should be blooming with rads, and right now it's at zero." Stein smirks, "That's where you'll find your atom smasher." Iris and Cisco give him a look. "Because he absorbs atomic power, and he, well, smashes." Cisco pulls him into a hug, "That's a great name. Welcome to the team."
He shakes Stein's hand, "Great, guys, thanks you. You can go now, all right?" Joe sternly calls him, "Barry, you need to let Cisco and Stein figure out a way to stop this guy." He shakes his head, "No, I don't." He speeds away with his suit on. Sighs echo all around the room.
Cisco holds something up, "Barry left his comm system behind. We can't talk to him." I look at Iris, who shakes her head.
"I'll go after him." I walk down the hall to where I last left my suit. I hadn't felt the need to use it, nor be a hero, after what happened six months ago. For the longest time, I blamed myself. How could I not? I fell in love with the man who killed the only mother I had ever had and framed my father for it, and tried to kill my brother.
My best friend's boyfriend sacrificed himself to save all of us from said man. What was I supposed to think? Walking back into the cortex, I can feel Iris staring, "I know what you're thinking, Iris. And yes, I can handle myself. I've dealt with much worse than a man who can grow really tall."
Cisco walks over to me, "Okay, if I remember correctly, there should be a GPS tracker in your suit. Here's your comms so we can talk to you."
I nod, putting it in my ear. I open a purple rift into the space infront of me, "Y/N, just be careful, and bring Barry back." I nod and jump through the rift. After coming out on the other side, I walk towards the front door and push it open, and it slowly creaks open. As I walk into the building, I speak to Cisco.
"Cisco, can you hear me?" He responds with a yes, "Alright, tell me where I'm going." As he guides me down the maze of halls, I can feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand as a gasp rings through the mic. "What's going on? Cisco, what's happening?" When I don't get a response, I start running. Hearing what sounds like a brawl, I run faster.
As I turn a corner, I see Atom Smasher, holding Barry by his neck. "Cisco, please tell me you're seeing this? Tell me what I can do?" He swears before typing quickly. "Okay, Y/N, I'm gonna use the alarms to pull his attention away from Barry. Can you get him out of there?" I look back atthe size of Rothstein, "Not quick enough, Rothstein would be able to recollect himself before I could open a rift. I'll have to try something else." Think, dammit. I look around frantically before an idea pops into my head. "Cisco, how do you think he'd fare against concrete? As soon as Barry's safe, I could bring the ceiling crashing down on him. Trap him under the rubble."
I can practically hear the gears turning in his head, "That could work, alright. I'm sounding the alarms, in three, two, one!" The alarms go off, causing Rothstein to look away from Barr. He uses the distraction to speed off, and I lift my hands, palms pointed to the ceiling.
Purple mist surrounds them, and I clench my fist, aggressively pulling my arms down to destroy the ceiling and bring it crashing down onto the meta. A hand grabs my arm before I'm whisked away. Not a minute later, we're back at S.T.A.R. Labs, and Barry is passed out in my arms.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"I remember when you and Barry first came to live with me. You both were so quiet. After a while, Barr started talking and interacting with others. But you stayed that way, I remember overhearing you and Iris talking one night. You told her the reason you don't like talking is that you didn't believe anyone was listening. Iris told you, 'Never let anyone silence you. When they speak over you, speak louder. Make yourself heard, because you deserve to have a voice."
I smiled at his recollection, "You started talking after that, small voice with the force of a punch." A groan alerts us both.
Barry shuffles before shooting up, "You're good. We got you." Joe gives Barry a soft look. He nods and looks past me. "Where is everyone?" I smile, looking behind at the empty cortex. "Well, we figured you wouldn't want an audience when you came to." Scoffing, Barry thanks us. Joe takes a deep breath before looking over at me.
I nod, and he looks back at Barry, "Iris is right. You're not gonna do this anymore. For the last six months, we've given you your space to work all this out. Come back to us. But today proved that you'd rather just get yourself killed." Barry chuckles dryly, "It's better than getting my sister and friends killed."
"You want us to tell you that it wasn't your fault? We can't. It was, but guess what? You weren't the only person making decisions that day. All the rest of us were there too. Eddie and Ronnie chose to help you stop Wells, and stop that--" Joe waves his hand in a circle around his head.
"Singularity." Barry and I spoke at the same time, "Singularity thing. It's on all of us, Barry." Nodding, I wipe the tear that falls from his eye, "So stop with this hogging all the blame and regret. We gotta live with it. Move on." He sighs, "What do I do now?" I exchange a look with Joe.
"Well, we know that you've been rebuilding Central City at night." Barry smiles, "It's just bricks and paint." I grab Barry's hand, "Maybe you should start trying to rebuild... things that really matter." Barry looks at me; he really does look like a kicked puppy when he's sad.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
I look up at the building, confused, "What're we doing here?" Barry smiles, "Rebuilding." He grabs my hand and pulls me along. Dragging me into the building and into the elevator, after the doors open, he continues to drag me down the halls. When we finally reach a lab, standing at a desk looking into a microscope stands a woman I never thought I'd get to speak to again.
Caitlin straightens and turns towards us, "What're you guys doing here?" Barry takes a few steps towards her, "Sorry, I should've called or something. I just-- I wanted to see you." She tilts her head, "It's been a while." Barry and I smile sadly.
"Yeah, Y/N said she saw you at the Flash Day celebration. I was surprised. You, better than anyone, know I wasn't the hero that day." Caitlin shakes her head, "Of course you were." Barry frowns, "No. Cait, Ronnie died saving me, and I should've saved him, and I'm--I'm so sorry."
Caitlin smiles softly, "Barry, I know that you did everything you could. It wasn't your fault. I don't blame you for Ronnie's death. I blame myself." My heart clenches at her confession, "Why?" I question.
"When Ronnie first became Firestorm, he asked me to leave Central City and go somewhere that we could have a normal life. And I said no." Tears fill the brunette's eyes, and her voice begins to break. I couldn't leave S.T.A.R. Labs, Dr. Wells...you. If I had gone with him, Ronnie would still be alive. Being at S.T.A.R. Labs just made me think of that every single day."
Tears run down her cheeks, and I reach into my jacket pocket and pull out a piece of cloth, handing it to her. She chuckles when she sees it, "Oh, you carry a handkerchief now? What're you, 80?" I laugh, looking over at Barry, "It feels that way sometimes." He gives me a sheepish smile in return.
As she takes the cloth, something falls out of it, tumbling towards the ground, and clacking loudly when it makes contact, I bend down to grab it. Cait makes a sound of confusion, "What's that?" As I stand, I look up at her, before speaking, "It's uh...Apparently, in case of his death. Wells had some kind of living will."
She raises an eyebrow, "And you haven't watched it yet?" I shook my head, "No, I've been too afraid." Caitlin offers a soft look, "What if we watched it together?" I nodded hesitantly and handed her the drive.
We sit at her desk, Caitlin and Barry on either side of me, as the screen illuminates, and Harrison sits in the chair across from the camera. I release a heavy sigh at the sight of him. Barry grabs my hand in reassurance.
"Hello, Y/N. If you're watching this, that means something has gone horribly wrong. I'm dead, and the last 15 years have been for nothing. Bummer. 15 years." His chuckle echoes through the speakers, and a shiver runs down my spine. Memories of the late nights we spent together at S.T.A.R. Labs run on replay, his breathless chuckle, his eyes shining even in the darkness of the cortex.
His hands on mine as he helped me learn to control my abilities. His lips grazing my shoulder as he lay next to me in bed. All the dinner dates he took me on, never once letting me pay for anything, how could a man that was capable of all that, turn on me, on us?
"You know, when I realized that in all those years, helping raise Barry, he and I were never enemies. I'm not the thing he hates. And so, I want to give both of you the thing you want most. It won't matter. You both'll never be truly happy, Y/N Allen, trust me. I know you." He sighs, running a hand down his face.
"I also know you'll never be able to forget me, Y/N. All those nights we spent together, my featherlight touches as you lay next to me, those smiles and laughs I pulled from you, even when you were at your lowest. Those moments will stay with you forever; they will haunt you forever. But you deserve to know that I have and will never regret all those nights. And even in death, I will always love you."
My vision blurs, and tears gently fall from my eyes.
"Now, erase everything I said up to this point. Give the following message to the police. My name is Harrison Wells. Being of sound mind and body, I freely confess to the murder of Nora Allen. In her home, on the night of March 18th, in the year 2000. I attacked Nora Allen in her dining room. I stabbed her in the chest with a large butcher knife."
"Oh my god. He confessed." Caitlin lightly chuckles, Wells' voice still echoes in the background.
"From the drawer to the left of the sink in the kitchen." "This is it." Barry laughs, "This is what we need to free Dad." Barry stands, pulling his phone out. The conversation quickly turns into static behind me, my eyes still locked onto the man in the recording. His words echoed in my head, "You'll never be able to forget me." A hand gently grabs my shoulder, "Hey, you okay?"
I look up and see Caitlin still sitting next to me. I nod, and she looks over at Barry, who walks back into the room, "Joe's going to get everyone together at S.T.A.R. Labs." Caitlin smiles, "I'll drive."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry showed the cut video to everyone. I couldn't have been more grateful for that. I wouldn't have been able to handle everyones empathatic looks had they seen the whole video. Joe left to call the DA, and Barry, being the restless type, followed him.
I, however, haven't been able to move from my spot; my limbs feel like they're filled with concrete. Rooting me into the chair, I can feel someone running their hand up and down my back, but I don't look to see who it is. Barry came back, and everyone started asking questions. I just can't bring myself to tune into the conversation.
A body crouches next to me, a voice speaking. "Y/N, Dad's coming home." I look over at him, "Dad's coming home?" Barry smiles and nods as he stands, "He's coming home. Well, first, we have to deal with Atom Smasher."
As the conversation about the meta sparks up, I zone out again. Iris looks down at me and pulls Barry aside. "I think you're going to have to do this one without her. She's still out of it from what Wells said to her." Barry nods, speeding into his suit and out of the building.
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
"Barry, maybe I should've stayed back at the house. I never came to see him. What if he hates me because of that?" Barry turned towards me, "Y/N, I promise you this. Dad could never hate you. Every time I came to see him, he asked about you. He would ask me how you were doing, how work was going."
"And even after we became metas, he asked about you. He wanted to know what you could do, and when I told him. He said he knew his baby girl would grow to become a strong woman. He loves you, Y/N, he always will."
Before the tears that accumulated in my eyes could fall, the gate behind Barry buzzes. Barry walks towards the man and hugs him tightly, his eyes fall on me as he pulls away. "My beautiful Y/N." He walks towards me and smiles, "Hi, Dad." He wraps his arms around me, "I missed you, kid."
My tears fall freely, "I miss you too, Dad. More than you know." My voice cracks, and we separate. He reaches up and wipes my tears, "Let's go home." Barry speaks as he grabs Dad's bag. "I'll race ya." Barry and I laugh, "You will lose."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
As I open the door to the West house, voices scream, "Welcome Home!" Barry and I smile as we look back at Dad. Cheers and applause echo around the home. Joe pulls Dad in for a hug, and everything feels right again, for the first time in 6 months, I don't think of the bad.
Iris pulls me right into her arms, happiness written all over her body. Cake, champane and stories are passed around the room. Iris and I laugh loudly as Joe slides a badge into Cisco's shirt pocket.
Stein clinks his finger on his glass, "Gather round, everyone, please. Looking at all of you, thinking how far we've all come, and remembering those who are no longer with us, I'm reminded of a Hebrew word used during times of graduation. Kadima. It means, "Forward." Stein lifts his glass.
"Forward." He nods in encouragement, and everyone follows suit; the clinking of glasses echoes around the room.
I spark a small conversation with Caitlin and Cisco before I notice Barry and Dad are caught in an intense conversation. I excuse myself and walk over to them. "Hey, what's wrong?" Barry looks at me before looking over at Dad.
"Y/N, do you think you and Barry can be all that you're becoming with me here?" Barry sighs, "You're the only family that we have left." Dad smiles,
"Well, that's not really true, is it? Don't you have another family in this room? They need your help, too, Barry." I look away, tears forming in my eyes, "When you both need me, I will be here, but right now, Central City doesn't need you to be Henry Allen's son and daughter. It needs you to be the Flash and Magick."
Hands grasp my face, forcing my eyes back to the man in front of me.
"My kids. The superheroes." He sighs, wiping a stray tear that had fallen from my eyes. "I have to go. "I need you to tell me that it's okay." I smile sadly, "It's okay, Dad." He smiles and brings us into a tight hug, "I love you. I always will."
✧。 🎀 _____________________________ 🎀 。✧
Barry and I walk out of the elevator, and Joe stands, waiting for us. "Hey, your Dad get off okay?" I nod, "Yeah, we just dropped him at the station." Joe looks over at Barry, "You good?" Barry shakes his head, "I don't know, I--Just feels like every time I win, I still lose."
Joe smiles and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a key. "It's not bad." Handing the key to Barry, he smiles and takes it, "No, it's not bad." I laugh and take the key from him, "It's pretty cool."
Joe laughs, "It's real cool, come on!" We walk into the cortex, where Caitlin, Cisco, Iris, and Stein stand. "Hey! Guess what?" Cisco asks Barry, "I added a little upgrade to your suit." The Flash emblem now sported a white background instead of the original red. Barry chuckles, "I was going to upgrade Y/N's suit too, but she threatened me."
I smiled, "You're damn right, my baby is perfectly fine the way she is." Iris laughs and Cisco smiles. "It's just like the one from the future newspaper Gideon showed us. I was thinking, you know, you shouldn't fear the future anymore, right?"
Barry shook his head, "No, and it'll be here faster than we think." Stein points at the suit, "Well, see, I like it. The lightning definitely pops more against the white." Caitlin smiles, "And S.T.A.R. Labs is now safer than ever. Increased security and surveillance."
