Images... They're all too big now. The natural dimensions of an image are architecturally disrespected: someone screenshots an image on their phone, uploads it to Twitter, and now it's a weird 2000x2000px fuzzy JPEG. Windows laptops always seem to come out of the box at an ugly 125% scale... Sites keep scaling up uploaded images if they're under a certain size threshold... My poor, petite pixels—what have they done to you? Why can I not be certain that a pixel, the atom of images, will appear to someone the same way it does to me? Horrible... horrible blurry world...

I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.

It's not about cancelling a problematic writer. It's about literally trying to save lives by denying her as much money and power as possible.

This attitude that people have a moral obligation to """get clean""" is deeply christofash. There's something incredibly twisted and perverse about how exercising the autonomy to modify your body as you please is treated like a horrifying, life-ruining Addiction™ on par with back alley baking soda/fentanyl/heroin cocktails or tranq.

(Not that I approve of the christofash attitudes surrounding drug use either, to be clear, but I don't want to get too off-topic here.)

Except, actually, cutting is seen as even more Ontologically Evil than criminalized drug use, because we don't even get a trial—we just get legally disappeared and tortured in asylums indefinitely, unless we can lie our way out.

Cutting represents everything christofascists are afraid of—sexual freedom, bodily autonomy, blood (they're TERRIFIED of blood and weirder about it than we are lol), rebellion, and emotional honesty. It leaves visible marks that serve as proof of refusal to assimilate.

Of course, not everyone has a healthy relationship with it. People who genuinely want to quit should do so. But not everyone wants to, and the default attitude of "satanic panic" surrounding it needs to change.
