“kH- You fiend! I thought that you were fond of me-! It was all a mere facade to see my vulnerability…” he hung his head in shame, only to find himself having a coughing fit, looking back up to meet eyes with Kazuichi with an awkwardly arched brow.
Kazuichi looked at him, and held his cheek in his hand, “I don’t think you understand… those are my favourite parts of you,” he placed his thumb just above his cupid’s bow, longing for a kiss, yet still aware of the dangers of contracting illness, “All I ever wanted to see was the real you… the real human you.”
He couldn’t deny his love for Gundham’s overly pretentious persona, but there was something amazing about seeing Gundham at his weakest, caring for him, and being able to see him as who he truly is.
His voice was hoarse and congested, “… I cannot believe you, you are a fool to see glory in my current state.”
“Well, you’ll have to deal with me loving you, and you’ll have to do it soon if you want to be ready for every day of your life… I’ll never stop loving you,” his grip on his face softened as his calloused thumb found itself in the groove just under his lower lip, prompting a glare from Gundham.
“… Valentine, can you…” his voice was slightly gravelly and pitched strangely, as though the sides of his throat were pieces of sandpaper rubbing together, “would you mind brewing me a cup of earl grey-?”
“Already on it-!” he removed his hand swiftly, causing Gundham’s head to fall forwards, slowly recovering from lack of support, and lolling his head to rest on his shoulder.
After some metal clanging and pouring of water, he came back with a sickingly sweet earl grey tea. Gundham almost gagged at the liquid that was more honey than water, taking a few sips before deciding it was too much.
Gundham’s willingness to drink the concoction was rewarded with many headpats from the mechanic, “T…thank you dear.”
“Anytime, babe.”
