the thing is i truly do not think u can grasp the whole scope of summer and rick’s relationship if u neglect to analyze summer and beth’s…like i do think that summer really does love her grandpa and wants his approval specifically BUT part of me wonders if summer was initially so desperate for rick’s attention because she craves that same undeniable truth of famial love from beth (and i do think that mentioning that beth and rick understand they are “exactly like the other” in terms of how they approach their relationships via the abc’s of beth is relevant in this discussion). and it’s so interesting to me because summer is undeniably beth’s favorite child (for example, beth doesn’t hesitate to save summer’s life over morty’s and also has an extremely difficult time connecting with morty because he’s “too sensitive” as opposed to summer, prime beth also remarks that a part of her is glad that morty’s gone). summer is truly beth’s pride and joy and is quite literally the only constant in beth’s life, and yet there is this undeniable DISTANCE between the two!! i think a lot of this comes from the fact that beth heavily projects her own failures (i.e that powerlessness she feels by being trapped in unfulfilling relationships) onto summer in a veryy similar way rick does with morty, and this combined with the concerning degree of “freedom” that almost borders on neglect that beth gives summer causes summer to feel like an outsider in her own family. but all beth wants is her daughter to be truly, undeniably free to be herself in a way beth by design cannot be granted in her relationships…ugh they are truly the embodiment of unstoppable force meets immovable object they make me crazyyy

Considering that ¨Erickerhead¨ episode was written by Albro Lundy and Scott Marder (Rickmurai Jack, Valkyrick, season 6 finale) and directed by same director who worked in ¨Fear No Mort¨, we can expect a quite heavy episode this week

i see a lot of posts being sad about how rick is progressively losing people to hang out with ( emorty, the people from ep2, now jerry, most likely morty at the end of the season ) but frankly all i can do is cheer. YAAAAY !!!! RICK IS FINALLY FACING THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS ACTIONS ^-^ HE'S FINALLY REALIZING HE TRULY NEEDS TO CHANGE !!!!!
