"Hey, we can finish my bucket list today if I have a say in it." He said lightly, maneuvering around the promises—the commitment he couldn’t find it in himself to give her. All he knew was that there was no way he was lasting until he was old and crippled, and no way he knew how to say that now. "What about you—what’s on your bucket list?"
"Then that would be a to-do list, not a bucket list." Harper countered, not missing a single word spoken. She knew how wording worked; she knew what not to say, what to specify, and what words needed to be used in order for her speech to have sustainability--Adam worked his way around it. Although the only reason she could come up with was right there, right now--their humanity. Still, she made a mental note and replied, "I don't think I've ever had one. Most of the time, I always got what I wanted--except travelling. Never even been out of the country--which is kind of really lame."
