theodore isn't sure of his heritage, not really. he grew up with witches in his blood line, sat at the feet of his grandmother often as she flipped through her spell books and taught incantations they did nothing when he repeated them back to her. his mother lied about who and what his father was to everyone in their family : it not until his eighteenth birthday that the truth came out in the form of the biggest argument he had seen, resulting in his mother leaving and him not seeing her again for years. not a witch like he had hoped, magic just ... delayed, in some way, but a halfling. his mother's own magic skipped a generation, his coming from someone that he'd never met with no one able to pinpoint its source.

he's not always been the kind person that people see now. much of his early adulthood was spent in a chaos that comes from a rebellion in the form of blazing your own path. substances that he had no reason to get into, deals with vampires that got him in over his head, messing with the types of spells that could easily get him killed all in the name of proving himself where his family never needed him to. his grandmother died with him causing a ruckus around new orleans, each new story that got passed back to her through her numerous sources of information that chipped away at a broken heart.

speaks little about her time before moving to lafleur. all people know is that she has a degree in business management and moved after her wife's death, by virtue of the wedding ring that she now wears on her index finger at all times. callie has become a master at only allowing people to see what she wants about her, and will change the subject or talk around it for so long that people forget what the original topic was. people from her past know that she met nicole while they were in grad school and that they had huge plans that had always included traveling the world, never wanting to settle in one place until they were retired. nicole died in a car accident picking up stocking stuffers during the middle of a winter storm right after her thirtieth birthday, and callie has been running ever since.

took over the last stop as a coping mechanism that wound up turning into a thriving business and a reason for her to stay in lafleur. ambitious to the point of obsession in that once her daughter is fast asleep, she'll stay up trying to make sure everything is absolutely perfect. she needs to control things in her space to feel like she has control of something in her life or she'll spiral.
