Hostile Environments
Beware. Pervasive negativity and unfounded supposition constitute slander and are unacceptable. They are not opinions or simple grandiose gossiping. There are real implications with libel and slander. Especially in writing and social media. Keep the light and positivity when possible. We know it when we see it. Do not tolerate it.
"Just joking" is not an excuse....nor is venting the same as persistent gossip which certainly is not helpful commentary. Intent, frequency and disturbing allegations can be addressed legally and are quite easy to track. Social media sticks around. It is unfair to push concepts that are untrue esp when the targeted persons are clearly not in the conversation.Any effort to belittle another whether famous or common citizen is distasteful and not worthy of tolerating. Be kind or helpful and have fun or express yourself but not at the expense of others. Assume the best, seek to understand and focus on the good in life.
