mozzarella and parmesan is kind of like the age gap yuri of cheese
people have lots of pet peeves with guys being/being called grunglers. i dont care abt any of that. my annoyance is that in the original tweet the guy himself was not the grungler, the messed up dark souls character he made while on call with strange transsexuals was the grungler. ur all misusing the term
grungler's monster
yes teenage girls can be dramatic and wild but honestly have u ever even seen what happens when u tell a grown man ‘no’
the real moral lesson in chess is that you can only move forwards 5-6 times in your life before you're turned into a beautiful queen but also rarely you might be turned into a horse
Fun deltarune fact: Susie is canonly transmasc because she wants to be a king. There is NO other interpretation of this, mine is the only correct one!
screw it i'm just doing a reblog i don't have enough space in a single comment to explain how this argument frustrates me
Okay, so this is you being intentionally obtuse. Let's do some literary analysis on these proposed alternative interpretations, yeah?
First off, I think a baseline for any interpretation of what the metaphor here is should fit a few criteria. One, it should be something Ralsei sees as secretive (Ralsei's surprise that Flowery knew they wanted the blue-and-pink voucher). Two, it's something Ralsei feels like they need permission for, but Flowery disagrees on ("just get your fav, and don't worry about Kris"). Three, it's something we don't necessarily know about Ralsei; the text for skipping it says that it "seems important", so it's unlikely this scene is just retreading previous ground already covered extensively in other places.
Proposal One: The voucher represents Kris. Implications being what, that Ralsei loves Kris, in a romantic angle? Anything less than that feels hilariously inconsequential, so I'm assuming that's the intention being perceived here. Passes the first criterion well, Ralsei definitely (thinks) their attraction is hidden (probably). Two is… ehh, iffy? I suppose you can kind of squint at it and say it works, Ralsei definitely views Darkners as beneath Lightners, so would view any romance similarly. They would probably feel like they need permission to love a Lightner as anything approaching an equal partner. But still, the "don't worry about Kris" makes it a little clunky. Intent in a scene, generally, should be smooth like butter. Cloudy, maybe a little viscous at worse. There's a kind of logical disconnect that makes this reading weird, which imo is a death knell for the interpretation already. If Ralsei is thinking about Kris, why is Flowery telling them to not think about Kris? It's wonky. However, the real death knell is the third criterion. What about a Kralsei reading makes this scene important? Kralsei fuel is like, everywhere in Deltarune. There's a way more explicit Kralsei scene in THIS VERY CHAPTER, that you could even get before this one, should you do the Yellow and Blue section first. Or, going back to Chapter 2, the entire acid tunnel of love sequence, if you want more. This interpretation is OLD NEWS, so does it really make sense to single this scene out as important, somehow? Compared to all the others? I don't think so. For the record, this also applies to the "it's Susie and Kris!" interpretation, but if anyone genuinely believes that then it's literally not worth my time to debunk because to believe the pink is Susie you have to believe that after only calling Susie purple/violet for five entire chapters, Toby Fox randomly decided to refer to her with pink instead because he was bored and presumably a moron who doesn't know how to write a consistent story capable of being interpreted by sane people that read the words he writes.
Proposal Two: The voucher is the bi flag. I know this was your meaningless deflection that has basically zero thought behind why it would possibly be the bi flag, but let's give it its dues. Criterion one and it's already tripping over its own ass though, oops. Queer orientations of all kinds are absurdly normalized in Deltarune, let's be so fr here. Kris can flirt with everyone, Noelle and Susie are out lesbians, most Darkners seem pretty flexible (the Floradinn in the "show your love" battle in Ch5 can ask if Ralsei can get them a hot gamer girlfriend OR boyfriend, randomly), there's a polycule in Ch3, etc, etc. Sexuality in general isn't a real hot-button topic in Deltarune in general, really; it just kind of is, and people like who they like. This also makes the second criterion kinda iffy to me. And as for the third... I mean, who cares, honestly? What does Ralsei being bi add to... anything, really? Like, it's cool. I love bisexuality, it's awesome. But it's not really a big thing that shakes up the narrative in any way, is it? Orientation isn't really a big Ralsei Struggle that we've seen manifest anywhere.
So now, Proposal Three: The voucher is the trans flag. Let's go over things real quick. Criterion one, definitely check. Ralsei is called a boy by like. Basically everyone they've ever met. If you go into the text dump like 50% of the times a character is being called "boy", it's Ralsei. They are viewed as such by everything, up to and including their own friends, and the omniscient prophecy woven into the fabric of reality. I can imagine that a desire to be a princess instead of a prince would be kept under lock and key (consider Ralsei is implied to wear makeup that gets partially hidden by their glasses, too). Criterion two? Huge check. In fact, at the start of this chapter we see from the climbing scene that Ralsei, as much as they love expressing femininity, being a princess, and wearing the dress, they still filter it through needing Kris's approval. They enjoy it, but only feel like they can do it if it's what Kris wants them to do. Tell them nah, and the dress is instantly discarded. They don't feel like they can choose who they are in this world. That to me, is a slam dunk in terms of pointing towards a connection to Flowery telling Ralsei not to worry about what Kris thinks. Kris has a lot of opportunities to tell Ralsei what being Ralsei should mean, but Flowery here is encouraging Ralsei to define what that means for themself. Finally, criterion three. Yeah, this seems pretty damn important? Ralsei has had a lot of identity struggles before now already, and keen-eyed readers might pick up on a potential transfeminine reading already, but this is the scene to make it properly EXPLICIT. For the people wondering, where is Ralsei's identity going? This scene is the answer. Hell yeah it's important! No other scene in the game has been so direct in a transgender Ralsei interpretation as this one. Ralsei not wanting to be THE PRINCE? Not wanting to be the thing The Prophecy says they are? That's a pretty big deal, I think.
It goes without saying that being called "princess" to top it all off should be a smoking gun, before I forget. This is the ONE time Flowery calls Ralsei a princess directly, the other times are him calling just Susie princess, or saying he "thought [he] heard some princesses in distress", or that he carried the Fun Gang "gently, like princesses". You can check the text dump, this is the one and only time Flowery directly calls Ralsei "princess", if the dramatic nose boop pause wasn't enough to make it clear that this is an important moment (which clearly it wasn't, I suppose).
Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED Talk, if anyone has any conceivable explanation for this scene that makes even a third as much sense please tell me, I'd love to be crazy and stupid and blind over the reality where 90% of Deltarune fans would rather die on the hill of the least thought-out literary analysis imaginable over believing a character is transfem.

In Super Mario World, if Yoshi eats two Pink Berries in the same level, gameplay will briefly stop as he lays an egg that hatches into a Smiling Cloud which will drop ten special coins, followed by a 1-Up Mushroom if all coins are collected.
If Yoshi dies on the frame he would have laid the egg, the next Yoshi that spawns in this level will spawn in a slightly glitched crouching state. If Mario then mounts that Yoshi while flying, he can fly on the crouched Yoshi (appearing to sit in mid-air above the Yoshi), as seen in the footage.

im pretty sure weve done this discourse before but it is pretty remarkable how the immediate reaction mickey warren (animator (notorious)) has to paige offering to show "a character [she] drew" is to describe in slightly excessive detail how he & his small coterie of fashion criminals are also capable of drawing. he says this as if he's contradicting her somehow: as if she has implied that she doesnt believe he's an artist. like, what he's saying is "if you knew i was an artist, you wouldnt have offered to show me your art." thats a really odd reaction, right? he seems to think that paige's offer was a tacit boast-- that to share an art piece youve created with peers is to implicitly insult them. she didnt say or imply any of that, but mickey's world seems to be one where artists do not voluntarily share their work with one another. how small & pitiable that world must be
why does mickey react like this
formative experiences with criticism have made him defensive
he sees art as a competition
he is genuinely uninterested in art that's not his own
he is a misogynist
he is drunk
the notoriety of his animation has driven him mad
The battle system in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is designed in a modular manner so that every entity, whether it's Mario, his partner, or an enemy, can theoretically use any move simply by calling its script. Of course, most moves are only supposed to be used by specific entities, causing many unintended effects if they are given to others.
A humorous effect occurs if an enemy is made to use the Earth Tremor special move. The enemy correctly hops onto the giant Crystal Star, and the move correctly deals damage to Mario and his partner (as those are that entity's enemies, and thus the targets).
However, the script for that move calls for Mario's partner specifically to jump onto the Crystal Star alongside the move user, even if the user is not Mario. This can be seen in the footage with Goombella joining the Goomba that is using the move on the star.
The visual result is that Goombella looks like she is "betraying" Mario by joining the Goomba in performing the move against him.

"I hate how American media will just make up a European nation rather than do any research, so I'm going to get back at them by writing a story set in a fake American state" like, do you have the slightest idea how much American media is set in a geographically impossible fictional small town located in no particular state and characterised entirely by some guy from Los Angeles' collection of half-remembered stereotypes about the American Midwest? They've already got the "lazily inventing fictional parts of America" bit locked down.
No, if you want to play the Uno reverse card on American media, what you need to do isn't to make up a fake state: you specifically need to wilfully misrepresent southern California.
