Writing for digital spaces has changed the way I think about communication. It is not just about explaining ideas clearly anymore, it is about how those ideas are received by an audience who can respond, question, or ignore what you post. In #writ318mu, I have started to realize that writing online is more conversational than academic writing. It requires me to think about tone, structure, and clarity in a different way. Instead of just aiming for correctness, I am learning to aim for connection. Feedback from peers has helped me see how my writing comes across to others, which makes me more aware of how important audience really is. Writing in this space has helped me become more confident sharing my ideas publicly and more intentional about how I present them.

I am curious about this, do you tend to give more consideration to feedback postings that have a few words or those that have many words?

Something specific that I learned about my writing process that will help me after college is that revision and peer feedback matter so much. I feel like we always think our work is good until we take a step back and let someone see it from another perspective. Peer review was extremely helpful for my writing process. It gave me time to take a break from revising and collaborate with others and their thoughts. This process ensures that my writing is clear, well-organized, and grammatically correct. Ultimately, improving my writing process down the road.

Developing a good revision process is essential for work beyond this class. In a career setting, your emails, academic papers, proposals, etc. are hardly ever the final drafts. You must be able to effectively fix your mistakes and revise parts of your work. In my personal career, I am going to be a teacher, so I will have to create lesson plans, send emails, write IEP plans, proposals, etc. So, I will continue to use this revision process to ensure all of these academic texts are written to the best of my ability.

Being able to revise will help both in other classes and beyond college in general. Considering other classes, being able to revise properly will help organize my thoughts more effectively. Having an efficient revision process will also benefit any future jobs I hold, as I will be more capable in communicating my ideas clearly. The ability to rethink and improve upon how I say something will make a major difference beyond college, helping me to come across as more professional and intentional.

I also try and remove information that is not relevant or necessary for my analysis. Although I must be careful to not present my argument in a way that leans into my research question, but remains neutral.
