Apparently they think tripod fish are fully immobile as adults with their long fins even though they were born to swim. I saw a sad edit of the tripod fish with the song Soldier Boy by The Shirelles even

It is also, like, incredibly easy to verify that they can swim. Here's a video from EV Nautilus showing one swimming. C'mon people, stop being fake fish fans!

One of the first videos you can find if you look up "tripod fish" starts with a tripod fish swimming even!! Not that it necessarily wants to swim all the time. It's far nicer to perch.
