Things and Stuff

Getting to the door, I stood silently. This handle to turn represented freedom though right now at an unknown price. To be fair, I drove here, skirt with zipper top buttoned up into a neck below my nape. “Stay covered stay afraid.” I thought, mused as I had all this past time, dreading, but wanting.  

“Why do this?” “To accept that I am enough standing here.” Constant monologue expressing fear and desire in one fateful action.

I twisted the handle, took that step as the warmth, lilac scented candles surrounded me, anxiety melted as the wax dripped slowly on as many small fires inside this humble solitude. A studio filled with cameras, paints as myriads of colors and emotions. I stood motionless, weak in thought but strong in action.

“Come here” she said. “I’m so glad you made it.”  “You’re beautiful, radiant even, I can’t wait to get started!”  

Excitedly she took hold of my index and pointers, lightly she lead me toward the silk papered partition, I slid out of my trance, followed her lead, her fragrance as she lead me away.
