scout opened her mouth to say something snarky,but ended up closing it when she couldn't think of anything. no,real balls would be better if she were being honest but she wouldn't tell him that. it'd kill the vibe,so she laughs instead,shoving him playfully.

she noticed the blunt dying,watching him place it into the ashtray she'd made for her father in middle school during art class. let's just say she got a talking to on why that wasn't okay by the teachers,but scout knew her father would love it anyways.

she took a handful of cheese balls and chewed and swallowed them before speaking again,offended by the height comment,❝ excuse me,but last i checked i was 5'6. not 3 feet tall. ❞she gave him a cheesy lip grin,teeth probably orange from the cheese balls but she didn't care. she took her coke and washed it around her mouth,cleaning off pearly whites and giggled.

"Same difference." The way Eddie said that made it seem like he was a giant when he had just reached 5 feet 9 inches and was waiting for his second growth spurt. 5'10 if he was having a good hair day.

Eddie had been shoving Doritos into his mouth but now he casually reached his hand over and grabbed a handful of cheese balls. One thing about Eddie was that he could eat - and when the munchies hit it was probably wise to lock up the pantry.

scout simply giggled and threw a cheese ball at eddie,it flicking him against his forehead,sending her into a fit off giggles. she watched as he'd shoved doritos in his mouth,wondering how he wasn't choking on them. she drank her coke,thinking this was much better than some stupid party.

❝ y'know it could work,but your arms would be sore after. ❞she was small,so she knew he could handle carrying her around,it'd be a site to see but creative,she was sure no one else came up with an idea like this.

@morb1dg1rl ❤️’d “i don’t know if i’m in much of a party mood, scout.” stu’s gone all out on this little fiesta, as he so called it. sidney definitely wouldn’t call it little; most of the kids in their class are here, maybe that’s the safety in numbers that principal himbry was talking about. regardless, she’s ready to hit the road whenever tatum reappears.

❝ aw,c'mon,sid. you need to let loose a little. ❞scout encourages her friend to party with her,even if she's not up for it scout could at least try to get sidney to have fun for once. she'd been so distraught lately,understandable but scout felt like sid could have fun every once in a while.

scout shrugged,glancing around for the other blonde,but saw no site of her around or near by,❝ nah,maybe she went to the bathroom. or off with stu. ❞she wondered herself where tatum could be,and felt worried for a minute something felt off,like something bad was about to happen. she got these feelings often,and usually they turned out to be true. she hoped in this case tatum would find them and her and sid would leave unharmed.

❝ want to go looking for her ? i'll help. ❞

❝ then sunday it is. ❞she claps her hands together,excited for this little endeavor. scout enjoyed spending time with cricket. she could be her 100% full self,without judgement and without fear. she could be who she really is,and she loved that about cricket.

❝ of course,that's the best time to do it. the freaks make it even better. ❞she'll grin at that,placing her oujia board back in its rightful spot on her many bookshelves full of them,ranging from old to new and haunted. she started collecting them when she was 16,going to oddities shops with her folks was one of her better childhood memories.

❝ maybe we should bring trigger objects too,really get the party started. ❞

she's glad scout has an affinity for freaks. cricket's been called one enough times for it to really sink in. she throws a smile over her shoulder at the other girl.

"sure, what's a trigger object?" cricket asks, reaching out to drag her fingers along a particularly old lookin' board. she's still so new to this whole thing, whereas scout could have a phd in ghosts.

scout would never part with her collection of oddities. most of the partners she'd bring to her place thought it was cool,and most just wanted to know more about them which she was happy to explain the history of. cricket was no exception to this and she was glad to have someone appreciate her collection with her. it made her smile a little,and she perked up at cricket wanting to know what a trigger object was.

❝ a trigger object is something familiar to the spirit. say they were a cowboy,you could bring a cowboy hat and an old school gun,or a beer. it'll attract the spirit to the object and sometimes they'll be open to communicating more. ❞scout explains,animated as she babbles on about trigger objects. she could go on and on,but figured she'd stop there as to not bore cricket with her knowledge,but something told her cricket wouldn't mind.

scout was glad she took them outside. it was way too stuffy and overcrowded. the venue smelled of piss,sweat and god knows what else. she was relieved to be out of there after being in there a couple hours,having a good time until this shit happened.

❝ offer still stands but if you say you're fine i'll take your word for it. ❞she drove them to the venue so it would be no problem to take him to a hospital to get checked out,to make sure he was really okay. fresh air really did do good.

❝ yeah,man. trust me,nothing i can't handle. i've got tough skin. ❞she finishes her cigarette and tosses it onto the concrete,crushing it with her boot,again ignoring the small butterflies in her stomach as he brushed hair away from her face.

ozzy was feeling like a downright pussy. he had never had issues going hard in the pit. he had been used to fighting back whenever someone was being way out of line. of course it had to happen to him, he truly had the shittiest luck. another drag of his cigarette as he leaned against the brick wall, silent for a moment.

he's relieved that she's alright, glad that she wasn't actually hurt. that would have really pissed ozzy off. for him to be unconscious while the asshole was physically assaulting her and him not being able to do anything about it.

scout was used to the mosh pit,dealing with assholes isn't one of her strongest skills,and she was easy to push around considering her small stature,but being beat to shit wasn't on her bingo card today. she was okay though,all things considering. a slight sting but the adrenaline kept her perky.

❝ okay. but you know i'm gonna keep asking if you're okay. ❞she gave him a smile,she truly enjoyed his company and didn't mind the small touches. she did have a crush on him,so it didn't bother her. she wondered if he knew how she felt but she couldn't be sure unless she asked,which wasn't going to happen on her end. his friendship was far too precious to ruin it.
