In honor of the finale dropping in a couple hours, i redrew a piece from when season 2 came out!! The original piece was never supposed to have a super set time period, it was just generally set somewhere in the 30s-40s, but for this redraw i wanted to make their costumes way more accurate to the 30s, since we’ve never seen that era from them
there’s quite a few little easter eggs in this piece but my favorite to add was the flower on Aziraphale’s dress.
As well as mixing Aziraphale and Crowley’ s main colors, a striped carnation felt like the perfect addition because of how it signifies solemn rejection. However, that rejection shouldn’t be confused for non-reciprocation but instead a somber “not yet”
Unluckily, to those not quite as old fashioned, and with rusty skills in victorian flower language, the message might ring a more harrowing bell
Any way, it’s so insane to me that after 7 years this show is actually ending, 12 year old me would be heartbroken, i can only hope current me won’t be as well 😭😭
