Most of the time we do not want to do what it takes to conquer. The very act of conquering means we must persevere through the struggle that it takes to overcome an enemy. It doesn’t matter if it’s laziness, heartache, political unrest, or even strife within your own family, we must persevere if we want to overcome. Meaning to be victorious in our life over the circumstances that are trying to rule over us. God desires you and I to live a victorious life. He does not want us to live in a way where we continuously shrink back from every obstacle that comes against us. That’s why were told continuously throughout the world we must persevere through hard times. Be encouraged! Once we ask God to be a part of our lives and we have excepted him as our Lord and Savior, that means God is with us! Encourage yourself in him daily and do not allow the circumstances of life to dictate. Living a life of spontaneity is not necessarily a bad thing. However, when we cannot take things to the Lord and wait upon Him, making decisions on our own and not seeking His counsel. When we refused to submit our ideas and decisions to Him, we set ourselves up to limit our potential. However, when we submit ourselves to God, rest in His presence, and wait for His answer, we open the gateway for Him to guide us into true prosperity and righteousness. Many times we use Romans 8:28 as a everything works out for our own good type of passage. In reality it’s really saying God loves us so much that he has the best in mind for us. Just like a father knows what’s best for his child, God has what’s best in mind for us, even when we don’t see it ourselves. He knows what’s going to be best for us and helps to work out every circumstance in a way that will benefit us for the long-term glory of the kingdom of God. He is invested in us and he wants a good return. Christians are not to live their life like the world around them. Instead we are called to be different. We are called to be unique and peculiar. This means were supposed to radiate the love of God everywhere that we go, allowing Him to be the radiant glory that the world sees through us. We are supposed to live to God‘s standards not the standards of the world. We must come to a place where we rest in God. Meaning we sometimes need to sit in silence before him. If we truly want him to have an open door to pour into us, we need to surrender all to him. It’s very interesting here that God does not say I give to anyone freely. Instead, He clearly says to those who overcome I will give access to the tree of life. We must as a people of God, understand that there will be trials and tribulations that we must overcome. This is not optional, it’s mandatory. God has told us clearly throughout his word, that we must overcome and remain in him. Continually, through the New Testament, we hear the apostles tell us that we must endure and persevere. How is it that we think in the world we live in that the moment we receive salvation, that everything instantly falls at our feet as if we are entitled to a perfect life. Nowhere in the Word of God does it tell us that our life will be perfect. It does tell us that God will bring you peace beyond our understanding.
