hì’txep’s pov finally!! this really hurt to write but i’ll be back with ‘meteor burn’ in a bit! thanks so much to anyone who stuck around throughout this one ^^

anyway i found out that corned beef does not agree with my stomach but it was so fucking good, it legitimately tasted like heaven 10/10

unrelated to the research part but we also went to this other stand another day and from there i got this chicken curry bao bun, VERY spicy but i genuinely scarfed it down in 5 minutes LMAOO

im really feeling the bright warms and muted cools as the aesthetic just because its a slice of life fic and mostly calm towards the beginning

this is actually peak slice of life!! taking time to think about the little things that tick him off instead of worrying about anything and everything! dragging scenes out! (like reaalllyyyyy dragging it out)

since it is a slice of life fanfic, i want a ton of fluffy scenarios of rod raising delphi before she goes off to hogwarts, and i personally feel that i just don't have enough!

so far i've got:

-rod buying pre-owned cds from the market, some of which may contain his or del's favourite songs! -del's baby milestones -rod learning to cook while del watches him fail miserably -del and rod BOTH making friends!! -del learning how to navigate being a person -rod's thoughts as a recovering alcoholic, and how del keeps him busy enough to distract himself from wanting to drink again -fiona getting pissed enough at rod not understanding her that she decides to teach him to speak gaeilge -rod trying to teach fiona to speak english but she refuses -del becoming friends with saoirse (very good friends..... yes indeed...) -del coming to terms with not having a mother -more bellamort flashbacks :)))

chapter six looks good from where i left off (about 1500 words so far) and i’ve still got to finish the whole rest of the chapter, but i’m happy with it.

we also learn that since rodolphus always had house elves to do things for him, he’s mostly helpless!! he is an awful cook, can’t hunt, can’t budget his money, and he doesn’t like looking at fish innards. (he was fine with humans’ when he was a death eater, but fish is where he draws the line apparently)

i want to note that i purposefully made rodolphus and delphi move to ireland, because auguries are native there. the death eaters also never really bothered with the irish a whole lot, so nobody knows who rodolphus is, which makes it the perfect place to start over.
