Whenever I read someone saying that Rodolphus probably lied about Delphi being Voldemort's daughter, I try a mental exercise.
Close your eyes and then imagine Rod having to explain to his Master why and how he concluded that it would be a good idea to lie about Voldemort having a bastard child with Bellatrix, who was his loyal Death Eater and also Rod's wife...
The absurd of this scenarios always makes me laugh.
I know some people say Rodolphus was trying to "honor" Voldemort by lying. I don't know, guys. It might just be me, but lying that your boss had a child with your wife sounds like the opposite of trying to honor somoene.
Then I also remember reading about the possibility that, since Voldemort helped the Lestranges with their infertility problem, Rodolphus didn't felt worthy of being Delphi's father... Yes, the humble Lestrange family is often implied to feel unworthy of their Master's graces.
Look, if we’re aiming for a headcanon of Belladolphusmort threesome for Delphi’s conception, I’m more than cool with that. However, let's remember that this is not how biology works and Delphi speaking Parseltongue is evidence of who her biological father is.
If the Lestranges were arrested in 1984, that means Bellatrix and Rodolphus had almost four years with Draco 🥺
Bellatrix probably wasn't a very emotionally present aunt because she had other things going on. But what about the headcanon that it was Rodolphus who taught Draco to fly on a toy broomstick and sparked his interest in Quidditch?
After escaping Azkaban, Rodolphus was so proud to find out that Draco was playing Quidditch in Hogwarts, but his nephew barely remembered who he was.
