roman is your typical millionaire playboy with more money than he could ever know what to do with. while he never got along with his father, he had always been a mama's boy. they would often go on lavish shopping sprees, eating caviar while getting facemasks together. he used to often tease his siblings that he was the favorite and he was able to get away with anything... if only he knew. he had never taken anything particularly seriously - his career, relationships, life in general tbf everything was always a big joke to him. maybe he's uses humor as a defense mechanism...maybe it's maybelline. people within the upper echelon of NY know him to be a bit of a crass asshole. ig it's pretty easy to not care about other's opinions when you've pretty much bought your whole entourage. two years ago, he put up money for a new broadway play for some actor he had been dating at the time. not heeding the advice of his financial advisors and despite the plays abominable reviews during previews. he put up the money regardless and on opening night, both the director and actor disappeared with all the money. ( a la carrie the musical ) heartbroken and humiliated, roman drank himself into a stupor. only waking up the following morning to hundreds of missed calls and texts from the cast and crew. instead of confronting the problem head on, he was seen partying with models in clubs and fighting with paparazzi. a few weeks later, the cast and crew ended up filing a lawsuit against roman and his production company. it ended up costing him and the langhams millions.which ultimately lead to his mother cutting him and his siblings off and written out of the will. roman hasn't fully accepted his newfound economic status and continues to spend more than he should. the credit card bills are starting to pile up on the kitchen counter and it's only a matter of time before reality sets in.

robin has always been a bit of a wild child, getting into trouble and questioning authority. her parents were often getting called into the principal's office for their daughter's unruly behavior and fighting. they always took their side in front of the administration but though would give her a good scolding as soon as they got home. when robin was still in elementary school, her parents got into a car crash which ultimately took their life. it was a day that would forever be ingrained in her mind. with no extended family willing or available to take her in, robin and her younger sibling were placed into the foster system. she wishes she could say it wasn't so bad...but no, it sucked major ass. they eventually got placed with a family that seemed straight out of a hallmark film and all seemed perfect. however, behind closed door, the family was toxic and neglectful. when the adults would fight, it was like entering a warzone. throwing things across the room and glass shattering became constant. robin and her younger sibling would often hide under the bed or hide in the closet, holding each other tight as she would sing a lullaby in attempt to drown out the reality of their situation. she picked up the bass when her high school boyfriend gave up trying to learn the instrument. despite their messy break-up, he refused to take back the gift. robin eventually grew out of the system and got a job right away. she knew if there was anyway to get custody of her sibling, she'd have to get her own apartment. while it took longer than she would have wanted, she was finally able to pull her younger sibling out that environment. despite her rough upbringing, robin is quite well adjusted. or so she likes to believe. she's extremely empathetic and has a tough skin due to what she's been through. but she's also realizes that she has a high avoidant attachment style, often running away from love and security but hey at least she's self aware!
