“Do something, Snape! Are you going to betray us now?!” the shouts continued, but he chose to ignore it, just staring at him, “Damn half-blood! I knew we shouldn't trust you!”

Was he? Not even Severus knew now, he never fit anywhere, he was simply the type of omega that everyone saw over their shoulders, he was poor, thin and unattractive, but he was intelligent, it was that quality that brought him there.

He made mistakes, he did things he wasn't proud of, but what omega, what person, wouldn't do that when you were at your wits' end with nothing? The only luck he had was that his destined was a pureblood alpha...his bully at school, who in his sixth year began his campaign to win his forgiveness and favor.

They were destined, they were bound until the end of their lives, to Severus's chagrin, he could not forgive everything he lived through. 

He walked away, he always did, even though Potter was insistent, he continued on his path until graduation, he did what he had to do to survive, with the support of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters he was able to find a place that supported him, they didn’t fully accept him, his position was simple and the order was direct.

He would be their direct potioneer and spy. How would it be? Easy, it was no secret who his destined was and which side he belonged to. James Potter was loyal to his side and with his principles straight, but he was an alpha with only one weakness, his destined omega, they challenges him to see if he was worthy of serving his Lord and obtaining the mark.

Was it difficult to get Potter to accept him? No. Did he enter in his life suddenly? Yes, he even started living at Potter Manor in less than a month, where he would have to spy on everything he could. A simple and easy task to accomplish; after all, his hatred for the alpha was so deep that he wanted him dead.

Those were his feelings when he arrived, but as time went on and Potter, with his endless apologies full of sincerity and respectful treatment in their continued courtship, bent him…Severus questioned everything he was doing.

His desire to belong and be valued for who he was wasn't on the dark side anymore; it was on Potter's side, on James' side—they were meant to be, for Merlin's sake! How could he do that, ruin the bright future he was being offered?

And there they were, a few Death Eaters managed to breach the barrier protecting the mansion, James being the alpha in shining armor that he always was, left him safe in his room, wanting to protect him from the danger they represented to him, if only he knew…

“Sectumsempra” he said, pointing his wand at the alpha he had found in the middle of the grand halls while searching for James, “they shouldn’t have come…one less to their army”

He prayed to Merlin that none of them would open their mouths to James, he didn't want him to find out that way, not after finding out what he felt for the alpha.
