Carve the name of your target into your candle. Focus on their hold on you loosening.

Anoint the candle with a drop of olive oil. Just a touch is plenty. Be safe and don't overdo it.

Sprinkle the powdered mustard seed onto the candle.

As you light the candle, say, "Every strike you throw is turned back on you. Your chaos is yours to bear. I return your poison to your well."

This talismanic image of Saturn is derived from the Picatrix, a Renaissance-era grimoire translated from its original Arabic, first to Spanish, then to Latin, and now to English: “The image of Saturn, according to the opinion of Picatrix, is the shape of a man with a crow-like face and the feet of a camel, sitting upon a throne, with a spear in his right hand and a lance or dart in his left.” Picatrix Book II, Paragraph 11 (Attrell and Porecca, 2019)

The back of the talisman bears the Grand Planetary Seal of Saturn and the Characters of Saturn according to Agrippa.

He governs an aspect toward profound knowledge; the science of law; the search for causes, effects, and the origins of things; the utterance of magical words; and the knowledge of deep and occult properties. … From the crafts, he rules working the soil, plowing, digging, extracting and working minerals, and the building trades.” (Book 3 Chapter 1 Para 3) and to “Entreat Saturn for delaying movement, concealing purity, destroying cities, humbling hearts, and calming waters.” (Bk IV Ch 4 Para 5)

I do tarot magic that's sort of like this, maybe, depending on how we define energy work. I no longer do the manual sort of energy work where I go and manipulate threads/balls/etc. of energy through visualization and willpower.

However, I do use the energy of tarot cards in spells in a more animistic/spirit-working sense.

So if I wanted to make something develop and manifest right away, I might assign the energy of 8/Wands to the situation.

Or, if I wanted a situation to be delayed, I might assign the 8/Wands Reversed.

In this sense, and probably also for doing willpower/visualization energy work, I find it's hard to work with the card unless I have a clear understanding of it. So if I have a card that I'm having trouble connecting to, I don't try to use it for this kind of work.

I also find that working with the spirits/powers of the cards is an excellent way to learn more about them, and they end up telling me more about their use than me assigning it (but this is typical for my entire practice).

I also find that how the pips, courts, and trumps work are all vastly different for me, and some experimentation between the types of cards might be worthwhile.

It would also be interesting to discover if, during willpower/visualization energy work, if the deck itself becomes drained, or it's your own power you're calling on, or something else entirely.

but I generally would not trust any spell or magical technique you find online that just tells you to use "visualization" without explaining how to actually raise, control, or direct power.

"visualization" just means visual thinking, which some people do naturally and other people don't do naturally.

there are techniques that teach you how to use your own directed thoughts to work with energy or activate power, whether or not those thoughts are visual in nature.

but unless you actually learned energy raising, manipulation, and control and are utilizing it when spells tell you to "visualize,"

you are probably not actually doing anything except just... thinking thoughts.

(and to clarify, I am of the crowd that does not equate "thinking thoughts" to be an act of magic in and of itself)

so if you are casting spells with "visualization" and getting success, that is great, you are doing something right!

but if spells aren't working for you on a reliable basis,

and the "active ingredient" of your spell work is simply striving to achieve visual thoughts related to your desired intent,

there is a chance that along the way someone started using "visualization" as shorthand for "now begin controlling metaphysical power with your mind"

and that got misinterpreted as "now think visual thoughts."

I just mean, like.

you, as the reader and potential spellcaster - when you see instructions to "visualize," do you believe this only means accomplishing visual thinking?

and do you think that visual thinking, which is just a way some brains process thought and meaning, is automatically magical?

and if you do not think that some styles of thinking are automatically magical (as you are certainly free to believe and may indeed even build a successful practice on),

🃏 Find The Empress in your deck. The card behind her will reveal what you need to do to nurture and care for yourself. 

🃏 When in conflict or competition with someone, look for 5 of Wands. The card behind it will reveal the solution to the problem.

🃏 If you see the same card over and over again in readings, it is a sign and you must pay attention to its message for you.

🃏 For a better understanding of each card, observe it closely and form your own interpretation that follows its themes. It will help you interpret readings better.

🃏 To find out what is making you feel stuck or delayed, look to The Hanged Man. The card underneath him will show what is holding you back. The card in front of him will show you how to overcome it.

🃏 When shuffling your cards, if any card drops out of your grasp, take it as a sign and read the card. 

🃏 You do not need crystals with you to do proper readings, but a good way to cleanse your deck is to place a clear quartz on the top of your deck before each reading. Keep in mind; there’s a variety of ways you can cleanse your deck.

🃏 Often when The High Priestess appears in a reading, she is trying to tell you that you know the answers and that you should listen to your inner voice.
