“I am ready.” 

The blonde nodded at him, nervous about this new adventure, excited that she was finally getting off the ship because she was tired of getting seasick and worried if she would actually be of any help.

Hopping off of the boat, Chopper smiled softly, but the feudal period looking slums and factory smoke brought discomfort to him beneath that. Best to find the prisoner mines quickly so Usagi wouldn’t see too much.

“Sanjuro should be nearby. With his help, we should be able to sneak in without issue!”

Usagi followed behind him and got off the boat, this place didn’t look like what she imagined it to look like but then again, she didn’t know what she was expecting anyway. This place felt strange to her, something smelled fishy and she could tell they had to be careful from now on.

Usagi’s eyes widened at the plea of her friend. “Chopper-chan! What happened, are you okay?” she asked and squat down. “Where are your friends?”

“Well, okay.” Chopper smiled a tiny bit more, but still wasn’t looking forward to what Usagi would have to see. Just as they approached the beach, the reindeer gasped, stopping in his tracks. “While we’re there, call me Chopperaemon! There’s something you should know, but thankfully, given Japan’s own history, you shouldn’t have much trouble following!”

The reindeer was glad that the first part of their mission would grant some levity to his precious friend. Girls loved playing dress-up after all, and if he was being honest, so did he. “You don’t have to change now, but The Wano Country is an isolationist nation just like Japan used to be. The slightest hint that we’re foreigners will be a huge tip-off to Kaido that enemies have arrived, but thankfully, Wano now is exactly like Japan was in the Edo period!”

Taking a deep breath, Chopper closed his eyes and exhaled, calmly paraphrasing the greater point. “Basically, if you have something that looks kinda old-timey, maybe something you’d wear for a festival or a cultural event, that should be enough. Think of a cool old Japanese name too. My friends Nami and Robin are going by O-Nami and O-Robi, so… maybe something like that?” He hoped this wasn’t too complicated. Maybe he was being paranoid about it, but it was better to be safe than sorry. He had a ninja outfit that he was going to put on for this very occasion.

“Wait, wait, wait.”

Usagi looked a little irritated at all the information Chopper was throwing at her, it was somewhat overwhelming hearing all these things. “Chopperaemon? O-Nami & O-Robi? Wano now is exactly like Japan was in the Edo Period? Whaaaaaaaat?”

Now that really did sound crazy, she never had to deal with something like that, so basically she was going on a trip back in time. “So like.. i would be O-Sagi?” she tried to make up a name but it sounded as bad as she thought. 

Maybe she could think of a better name later, if not they had to stick with that. “Well, uhmm.. I have my luna pen that i have not used in a while.” she fished it out of her pocket and showed the little pink pen to him. “I can dress up as whatever i want with this, i could even turn to a guy.. let me give it a try.” 

She held the pen up, calling out. “Disguise Power! Turn me into a beautiful lady of the Edo Period!” 

Bright rainbow lights shoot out of the pen, engulfing the girl and transforming her whole look. “What do you say?”

Usagi’s eyes widened at the plea of her friend. “Chopper-chan! What happened, are you okay?” she asked and squat down. “Where are your friends?”

Chopper was somewhat disappointed in himself for asking about Mamoru. He knew how much Usagi cared for him, and how busy the man had to be with his own life, but Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask were far more likely to break Luffy out of prison than just Sailor Moon. The reindeer removed a folded piece of paper from his pocket with Luffy’s name on it. The paper pointed in one direction like a compass as the reindeer smiled softly.

“It hasn’t started burning yet. I guess the danger isn’t too severe.” He had yet to explain what a Vivrecard was to the girl, but he figured he had plenty on time on the way. He grabbed Usagi’s hand, pulling her along toward the nearest shoreline, where he’d docked his boat. “It’ll be a bit of a long ride. I hope you don’t get seasick easily.”

Chopper still felt awful, like he was tricking an innocent child to their death. Even though Usagi had faced threats before, she didn’t quite know what the Beast Pirates were capable of. There were no words Chopper could use to describe their horrible power.

“It hasn’t burned yet?” she asked and frowned lightly as he took out a folded piece of paper from his pocket. “What exactly is that?” she followed him when he grabbed her hand and pulled her along towards the nearest shoreline. 

She wasn’t sure if she would get seasick, she never really went on a ship before and if she did it wasn’t for a long time. So when he asked her about it, she did get a little nervous.. hopefully things would go well for once. Usagi looked at the little reindeer for a moment, he somewhat looked like something was bothering him, as if he felt guilty for asking her to help him. 

She sighed softly then gave him a soft smile. “Chopper-chan.. I need you to know that it was my decision to come along, yeah? I might not know what is waiting there for me.. but i know that i wont give up, especially after you told me what a horrible person he is. After all.. i stand for love and justice.” she winked playfully, trying to change the mood a little.

Usagi’s eyes widened at the plea of her friend. “Chopper-chan! What happened, are you okay?” she asked and squat down. “Where are your friends?”

Chopper was happy to see that she was willing to help him, especially given how horrifying and powerful Kaido’s forces were, but he was surprised to hear the next thing she said. She was just going to let him take her? The two of them? He trusted Usagi with his life, but from what he saw of her battles, she’d often fumble and get knocked around somewhat easily by monsters. It wasn’t that Sailor Moon was weak, far from it, but she was the type of hero who worked best as part of a unit, not as the whole.

“Usagi, are you sure Mamoru shouldn’t come with us? I know that all of the other Sailor Guardians are probably busy with their lives, and I don’t wanna interrupt them just for my crew’s benefit, but surely Mamoru could assist us.” The reindeer lowered his head once more, worried that Usagi might feel offended by the suggestion of asking for more allies.

“There’s more than just Kaido to deal with. There are other powerful pirates that are considered my captain’s peers who’ve pledged allegience to him! Hawkins, Apoo, Drake! They’ve all eaten Devil Fruits, but I don’t know what powers they have.” Admittedly, the reindeer could’ve gotten other members of his crew to help in this fight, but he was feeling very uneasy about Usagi now. If she died for a fight that was never her’s to battle, Chopper wouldn’t be able to live with himself.

“Honestly, Mamo-chan is the last person I would ask..” she sighed softly then looked down to him again. She didn’t want to drag him into this mess, especially not when he had so much to do at the hospital he worked at now. She barely was able to see him nowadays, knowing what his new job meant to him, so asking him to come to another world and fight evil there wasn’t an option right now.  

“But i will text the other girls, if we go.. they can find me through the Sailor Teleportation.” she nodded her head at him, knowing that she did need the help of her friends. The blonde grabbed her phone and sent a group message, telling the girls about Chopper and how she was leaving to help him and his crew. 

She knew they were busy and deep down she hated herself for always having to depend on them but she needed them, especially now that she didn’t know who her enemies were. 

Usagi’s eyes widened at the plea of her friend. “Chopper-chan! What happened, are you okay?” she asked and squat down. “Where are your friends?”

“My whole world knows about him.” Chopper lowered his head, trying to think of how best to explain this to Usagi without raising more questions. “He’s a large man, like… over 8 meters tall with horns and giant muscles! He looks like a monster! He’s known the most powerful beast alive! He ate a devil fruit that lets him turn into a Chinese Dragon and breathe fire that annihilates entire villages in a single moment!” Chopper hoped it didn’t sound like an exaggeration to her. He knew Usagi had fought plenty of monsters just like Kaido before! Some demons and others from space, but he knew that the Sailor Guardians never lost to any of them. He kept his head down as he spoke to her.

“I watched my captain try to beat him. None of Luffy’s attacks even phased him and…” He shook his head multiple times, knowing there were more important things to tell her. “The Wano Country! I can use Luffy’s Vivrecard to lead you there! It’s not pretty though. It’s an impoverished nation ruled by a corrupt shogun who enlists pirates like Kaido to keep the rich fed off the poor’s misery.” Chopper didn’t want to say more than that. He was still haunted by the imagery of having seen a mother stab her own child to death before hanging herself to spare it the suffering of starving to death. He wanted Kaido and Orochi dead, but more than that, he just wanted his crew to be safe.

“Luffy is in a prison! Kaido intends to enslave him and break his will until Luffy decides to become one of Kaido’s own crew members! It won’t happen, but if he stays there too long… Kaido might kill him!”

Usagi listened to what Chopper had to say about Kaido and the Wano Country, everything sounded so crazy and Kaido sounded like a huge beast and normally she really hated fighting with scary people because deep down they creeped the living hell out of her but Chopper was her friend and he genuinely looked like he was worried about his friends.

This Kaido guy did sound dangerous and if even their Captain couldn’t beat him then this was going to be a real challenge for her too. Now that Luffy was in prison she was going to help him get out no matter what. “I see.. I got it. Let’s go Chopper.. i will go with you to the end of the world if i have to.” she gave him a soft smile. “I will fight if i have to, let’s rescue Luffy and help the others. We will not let someone like this Kaido guy hurt any more innocent people.”

What Usagi hated the most was people like Kaido who thought they could just enslave poor people and use them in which ever way they wanted to but this was going to stop. She touched her heart-shaped brooch then took a deep breath. “Let’s go.”

It finally felt like spring. 

But it made her miss her boyfriend even more as she sat on a bench in a park and watched people walking by, taking walks with their loved ones. Though, a particular person caught her attention from the very beginning, a pretty girl. She didn’t know what it was but something about her seemed mysterious and.. different. “Huh..” 

“Huh?”

Akko had been out and about herself, for who could stay inside on a beautiful day like today? Not many, it seemed, as the park was full of families and couples and just people around, enjoying themselves on this lovely spring day!

As Akko walked around, her magic hand mirror in her pocket, she noticed a pretty blonde girl sitting on a bench nearby. She seemed to have her eyes fixated on her… 

Curious, Akko walked over to her to question her, even as the strange girl apologized.

“Uh, it’s fine… I’m just curious about why you were looking at me like that?”

Usagi frowned and didn’t really have an answer for that, she honestly didn’t know why she stared at her for so long, there was just something about her. 

“Ha.. uhmm. Well, you see.. you were the only one without a partner here except for me. I was just thinking that i wasn’t the only one alone today.” she laughed awkwardly and rubbed the back of her neck. Hoping the girl would buy that. 

Usagi’s eyes widened at the plea of her friend. “Chopper-chan! What happened, are you okay?” she asked and squat down. “Where are your friends?”

Chopper smiled weakly as he felt her touch for the first time in what felt like years after the disturbing time he’d had in the Wano Country. “That would be great. I don’t think we can do it alone though. Kaido is the strongest thing I’ve ever seen.”

She nodded her head at him and got back up. “You need to tell me more about him, Chopper.. is there anything else you know about him? Where are your friends right now and more importantly can you get me there?” she asked and looked down to him, trying to figure out if she had to tell her friends to tag along or if she was going to leave on her own.

“Kaido is coming. I’m sorry. I know fighting isn’t something anyone enjoys, but he needs to be taken down!” Chopper pleaded with tears in his eyes, worried for his friends.
