Long walks 

grab your headphones, make a curated playlist for the vibe, and walk. around your neighbourhood, down a pretty nature trail, even just around your house, whatever is accessible to you works. Be mindful during this time, observe your surroundings, allow yourself to take everything in as it is, this is a sedative practice in itself, and just good for you in general.

Write or read poetry

everybody should read poetry. It strengthens your reading, media literacy, emotional maturity, and imaginative skills, not to mention it’s just an extremely free and fun form of literacy. find a poetry book you like and read it, really read it, try and understand the words, create your own meanings and symbolisms within them, connect to the words, and, better yet, if you enjoy writing try writing your own poem. It doesn’t have to be good, it doesn’t have to make sense, it just has to exist. you can try different formats like sonnets, specific patterns, or freeform. In doing this you are taking your emotions, experiences, and beliefs, good or bad, and transmuting them into something beautiful.

Do an activity involving flowers or plants

Maybe it’s just because an earth sign but handling plants, especially flowers just makes everything feel lighter and magical, you can press flowers in books, dry them, arrange bouquets, pot plants, garden, etc. We are so disconnected from nature at this time we forget how soothing and grounding it is to re-unite with it.

Make a vision/mood board

I love Pinterest, canva, or an old fashioned bulletin board for this. This is especially helpful if your a visual thinker, and a fun, accurate method of manifestation. You can make Pinterest boards for your goals, the aesthetic you want to achieve, or imaginary worlds created in your head. Create collages of what you want your future to look like and pin up pictures of things on your Wishlist somewhere you’ll see them everyday. By forcing yourself to visualize these pictures, especially consistently, it causes your brain to focus on them and think about them more, and subconsciously try and seek out opportunities to make these things apart of your reality, combined with law of assumption training, you can essentially manifest anything

Look through your clothes

I personally often forget about a lot of the clothes I have, stuff goes missing, or gets shoved to the bottom of drawers and I forget it exists, it’s nice every once in a while to go through all the things you have, you might be surprised what you find, you can style and plan outfits for later dates, organize your clothes in certain ways, and donate things that no longer suit or fit you.

Cook or bake something

This day and age a-lot of the things we consume are pre-made, frozen foods, takeout, junk food etc, all often pumped full of chemicals we are unaware of. our society forgets a lot we’re capable of making pretty much anything ourselves, capitalism just grooms us into thinking we can’t. Try a fun recipe, maybe try and make something “pre-made” yourself, even just making yourself a simple sandwich is much better than a pizza pocket. I’m not saying don’t eat pre-made food ever, obviously we all do, I’m very guilty of binge eating unhealthy foods. But, going out of your way every now and then to make your own food not only is much better for you, but also makes enjoying your food much more of an experience, allow yourself to have fun making your food, experiment, everyone should be able to cook good food for themselves, don’t treat it like a chore, treat it like a hobby.

Do your makeup! (bonus points if your half naked)

too many people do their makeup because they feel like they have to, and not because they want to. you don’t just have to do your makeup for other people when you leave the house, do it for you! listening to music in a bra and panties doing fun glittery makeup is genuinely so therapeutic for my soul, I can’t see how it wouldn’t be for everyone else. And be sure to have fun with it, since you don’t have to worry about what others will think this time, experiment with colours, glitter, fun patters, bold looks etc, face paint can also be very fun.

Everything shower or bath

I can be guilty of procrastinating my everything showers often, but nothing is better than feeling entirely clean and smooth. put on some good music, oil your hair and wash your face. I prefer showers because I don’t have a nice bathtub, but a bubble bath with candles and rose petals is to die for. take your time, no need to rush, enjoy the water, and focus on cleaning and caring for your body. I like to shower in the dark, since it’s scientifically proven to make your brain work more creatively, and you often get the most ideas when in the shower. 

Journal

Everyone at the very least should own one journal and I firmly stand by this, doesn’t matter if you don’t like writing or you're bad at it, irrelevant. I have several and it is singe handedly the best way to process your thoughts and emotions, record your feelings and experiences, and express yourself both creatively and emotionally. light a candle, maybe some incense and sit somewhere comfy, use a pen you like and fill the pages to your best ability. Their are millions of ways you can journal, you can write about your day, free write whatever comes to mind, make lists, follow journal prompts, simply doodle, write poems or stories, and many many other ways. I recommend trying out quite a few until you find the ones that work for you, there is a method that works for everyone, I promise.

Make a playlist

I have 100+ playlists, no I’m not joking. I listen to pretty much every kind of music, so I really like having specific playlists for specific scenarios and vibes. You can make a playlist for the people in your life you care about, or one for songs that remind you of your favourite character, a specific genre or artists songs, playlists based off quotes or different forms of media, and much more, be creative.

I mainly worship Aphrodite and have been for over a year, I also happen to have the larger alter for her. While alters aren't necessary as someone who loves to incorporate general vanity and aesthetics into both my craft and my everyday life having an alter is a big part of my faith, and if your interested in making one, you've come to the right place!

How Do I Make An Alter?

This will focus on an alter for Lady Aphrodite, but, a lot of these things can apply to alter for other deities <3

Basic Starter Equipment:

a white, pink, or red candle

anything that you feel represents her

items you find beautiful, or pictures of things you find beautiful

flowers

crystals like rose quartz, clear quartz, carnelian, pearl, rhodonite

Extra's:

perfumes

makeup

seashells or things from the ocean

plants that have flowers or are pretty/pink

spell jars related to beauty, love, ect

heart shaped things

a cup of wine, moon water, rose water, or whatever you please

jewelry

These are some of the things I have added to my alter, but, I encourage you to be creative and also come up with your own ideas of things to add, if something feels beautiful to you, feels like it holds her energy, or just get a feeling, find a way to incorporate it!

Some extra tips I'd like to add:

if you can, I find it really nice to have Aphrodite's alter where you get ready, for me that's my vanity, but that can be your bathroom, your dresser, the floor infant of your mirror, or wherever else. it's a great way to devote self care acts like getting ready, doing skincare, makeup, or other things like that to Lady Aphrodite

connecting t my last point, devoting self care acts to Aphrodite is an amazing form of worship and building connection

don't offer bodily fluids <3

try and keep her alter clean, since she's the goddess of beauty, a nice and kept alter is more important to her then other gods

if you either don't have the space for an alter, don't want one, or can't have one, I would suggest a journal alter, as someone who loves journaling this is actually my favourite form of worship, take an empty journal, make it pretty, in it you can write letters and prayers to Lady Aphrodite, learn and research about her, press flowers for her, and whatever else you please

We as humans are constantly emitting emotions. All the time at all times, often multiple at once. Everyone is regularly emitting emotions. This can also be called an energy they are emitting, a frequency, or a vibe. All these words are interchangeable. Because emotions is simply energy in motion. And we have control over all the energies we release, if we can learn to master them. There are infinite emotions/energies/frequencies we can release, but they can all be sorted into two categories

Good

I use the terms good and bad for lack of a better one. Really, think of it as emotions that come from love, and emotions that come from fear. Naturally, emotions rooted in love have a more positive feeling frequency/vibration, and emotions rooted in fear have a more negative feeling frequency/vibration: next, we need to understand what these feelings turn into, by putting this energies out, rooted in love or fear, they turn into and influence our thoughts, which then influence our actions, and which finally influence our results. So, to put it simply. Good feelings equal good results and bad feelings equal bad results. Now that we understand this, the answer is simple. Change your feelings. But how the fuck do we do that? Feelings are complicated as shit, and they are often the ones controlling us, so how do we get to a place where we can control them? This is where we learn the full cycle. I’ll lay it out simply.

Focus —> Beliefs —> Feelings —> Thoughts —> Actions —> Results —> Focus repeat.

Now seeing this. Naturally, one would think. If I want to chance my results. I change my actions, since that is what feeds directly into results. This is what most people say. “I’ll go to the gym” “I’ll start doing affirmations” ect, ect. So why do like 85% of those people still fail? Simple. If you start with your actions. You now have your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and focus contradicting you and holding you back. As much as we want to take the easy way. The best way to fix your results is to start with the first step. People are hesitant to start with the first steps, as it often means facing parts of themselves they don’t like. But, the only thing to do when you don’t like yourself is change, or change your opinion. This is where shadow work comes in. The basis of shadow work is simply looking into and facing past traumas, healing the parts of yourself that may have kept you safe at times, but are no longer helpful to you.

The first step is your focus. Your brain literally filters your world based on what you focus on. The focus of your life is what you will see, and what you will receive. There is so much information in the world that our brains literally cannot handle it all at once, that our brains literally filters through everything we experience, to sort through whatever is decided to be important enough and what isn’t, based on our focus and belief system. If your focus is your own sadness or negativity. And if you belive negative things about yourself. That is what your brain will filter through and allow you to retain. The best way to start, and it sounds cliche and annoying as hell. But focus on the positives, if you can’t focus on your positives? Focus on others. If you surround yourself with intelligent people, who are loved, abundant, wealthy ect, you will naturally start to adapt to their belief system. Hell, even if you follow people online who are inherently abundant and positive, watch positive content, focus on something positive, and it will then influence your belief system. If you want love, focus on seeing love in the world, follow couples on social media, hang out with your couple friends, admire the love people have for each other and the love you have for others. Focus on love and love will flow naturally into your cycle and into your results. The truth is, manifestation is fast. Immediate even. All you have to do is change your mind and everything else will follow suit. Change your focus, your beliefs will change, your feelings will change, your thoughts will change, your actions will change, and finally your results will change. It’s a chain reaction and when you master setting it of at your will is when you can easily get whatever you want, without barely having to do a thing. An example of this is the viral white and gold/black and blue dress controversy. A bunch of propel saw it as white and gold, while others saw it as black and blue. For a while I was convinced the dress was black and blue, but I saw a picture of it in a different lighting, and saw it clearly as white and gold. The dress never changed. The lighting, the focus did, and it changed my whole perception of it. I went back to another photo of it on different lighting and tried to squint and see if I could see the white and gold. And if I focused hard enough, I could. By changing your focus. You change your reality. And that is how manifesting works.
