#romantisizing life

something so intimate and humanizing taking a night-train. everyone is asleep or quiet - the difference in how one prefers to sleep, whos wearing what, and the continuous effort to stay quiet as to not wake anyone. the guy next to me had to move to let me walk to the restroom, and stayed awake til my return. he moved in a different way the second time to give me more space to move. the dimmed overhead lights, the view out the window. people walking to the restroom with toiletry bags to brush their teeth. everyone sharing one train, one carriage, one night.

romanticizing your life isn't about pretending everything is perfect.

it's about noticing the little things that make ordinary days feel special.

here are a few things that have helped me:

♡ slow down. stop rushing through every moment. take a different route home, watch the sunset, or enjoy your morning coffee without looking at your phone.

♡ make everyday routines feel beautiful. light a candle while you study. wear your favorite pajamas. use the perfume you've been saving. don't wait for a special occasion.

♡ create small rituals. make your bed every morning, write a few lines in your journal before sleeping, or take a walk while listening to your favorite playlist.

♡ appreciate the little moments. fresh flowers at the grocery store. rainy afternoons. clean sheets. a good book. laughing with a friend. happiness often hides in ordinary places.

♡ stop comparing your life to everyone else's. your life doesn't need to look like a Pinterest board to be beautiful. the best memories usually happen when you're simply living.

♡ dress for yourself. wear the outfit that makes you feel confident, even if you're only going to a café or running errands.

♡ take photos of your life. not because everything has to be posted online, but because one day you'll be grateful you captured those little moments.

at the end of the day, romanticizing your life is simply choosing to see beauty in the ordinary.
