He's so normal, so so normal girl, for real.
Okay he's not at all normal but he's not a bad person he's just kind of weird and he really loves monsters a whole lot. Academics didn't suit him, but that didn't stop him from doing his own monster research. He also likes food, and cooking monsters. New recipes are fun, okay?
We just went through a little bit of trauma but that's okay! We're interested in exploring this new island! Everything's totally fine!
At first glance, he seems like a typical milquetoast fantasy protagonist, but he's absolutely weird and has zero people skills. He's a bit of a misanthrope, subconsciously, and can read monster and animal behaviors but is completely lost when it comes to people.
Even his friends (who like and care about him!) think he's absolutely strange, although he's absolutely loyal to the people he cares about.
How can I forget: he can do a really good dog impression, other dogs believe he's a dog. It's his special skill.
He also has a really high intimidation skill, but only when it comes to monsters and monster-specific intimidation. Although it definitely scares other people, just in a different way.

don't worry, that's no zombie stumbling down the street! it's just good ol', dramatic pascal. she's wildly blowing her hunger out of proportion, too; it's only been, what, six hours since her last meal?
bonk! she eventually slams into something-- rather, someone solid, but she's none the wiser.
"guh... food...?" dazed, she raises an object to her mouth and... ack, nevermind! that's definitely an arm! she drops to her knees with a pathetic whine, a picture-perfect display of defeat, "aw, you're just some guy. why'd you have to get my hopes up!?"
He seemed distinctly unbothered that she had tried to bite his arm.
"Anything can be food, but I'm banned from eating anything humanoid. You don't wanna be yelled at." He reassures(?) her. Although he had definitely tasted himself(?) and it had tasted pretty okay!
Still, he could hear Marcille's voice in his head. When did that start?
Oh, well. "There's plenty of food around here. I was just heading over to the Star Trail to try something. Usually if you lift some boxes they'll give you food. Or, sometimes they like if you take notes on new recipes." He had no idea who this girl was, but it didn't seem to matter to him.
"Yeah, Marcille is still here." They wonder if Marcille knows that her friend returned. They're sure it'd be great news to hear that Laios was back. they'll have to let her know real soon.
"Just one monster, right? Your monster will be chilling here and having a good time. By the way, that's a badass creature."
"Are you housed in your previous place or someplace new?"
He was definitely relieved Marcille was still here. It didn't seem like anyone else had showed up in the meantime, or else they'd probably let him know. At least Marcille hasn't been lonely. While it's not an active thought all the time, it's definitely something he worries about in his Marcille compendium in his mind.
"Uh, I think someplace new. I dunno - I didn't go back to my house much." He much preferred camping outside and exploring the rest of the island. And then there had been giant lizard island...
But they had praised Laios Jr., so any critical thinking went out the window for the moment.
"Isn't it the coolest?! I designed it when I was younger. It's a lot smaller than I had in mind-" (Or...Well. Nevermind.) "But they definitely got the details right." On the screen, the three headed chimera puffed out some smoke.
✤ "Laios! You're here too?" From what Falin could recall, it hadn't been that long since she'd woken up again. This time there had been a big party and she had met a lot of people. Her body was different but that was also alright. She liked the changes even if some people would find them creepy.
She also didn't understand that different people from the same world could be taken from different times.
"What a relief! Here I was worried it was just Marcille and I... Can you believe how amazing this place is? I've seen monsters and humans living in harmony!"
"F...Falin?" It's rare that he's entirely struck by something, but she seemed....Fine. Absolutely fine. She's walking and talking, and she's acting like herself. Laios approaches, hands out, shaking slightly.
The Winged Lion's words echoed in his mind, but were cast aside when he ran forward and pulled his sister in a tight hug.
"I thought-" (That you'd been lost forever because of me.)
He gives her another squeeze before releasing her from the hug. She shouldn't have to be troubled by his mistakes. Instead, he should be excited. He was excited.
And confused.
But happy.
"It doesn't matter. I'm relieved too - and glad Marcille's still here. They've got so many cool things here. I know you're gonna love it." And she's okay! And-
"Wait-"
"...Do you get to be...A dragon still?" He didn't get to be his cool monster. He's also not sure at all how she was even walking around. On two legs!

"Laios Jr.? Oh---Oh, shit..." Indigo chuckles, "That's the last thing you remember? S'been awhile, but here---," Of course, they check on Cosmo whenever they get the chance and that meant that Indigo was able to show Laios where he can find his little spiramonster.
They hit on the app Smar from their phone and show their little guy, Cosomo. "See? Yours should be in that same app too."
"Awhile? Is Marcille still here? Oh that thing-" So much was happening at once, but he knew where he had stashed his phone.
Pulling it out of his armor, the poor scratched thing turned on and he pressed the same buttons Indigo did. The three headed chimera pops up on his screen.
"Whoa...So you can store monsters in this thing? I'll need to fix it up."

He can't stop staring - the dragon with the pink haired man, he wasn't sure what it was. He looks back at his notes and then back up at the dragon, squinting.

"Small." Wait..
"AH!? Is it a baby dragon? A juvenile not fully grown? That means that there are multiple dragons here!" At this point he's already stood up, pointing at the man in the middle of the park.

“Heh,” he stood proudly, looking at his spiramonster. “Alright Laios the 2nd, let’s get going.” The three-headed, smaller version of his own monster form looked up at him excitedly, bouncing around. It’s wolf head’s tongue hung out of its mouth as it wanted to play. The quadcorn tried to buck away. The griffin shouted at them both. One of its two tails, a snake head, slithered. It flew around happily after a while, and he couldn’t help but be pumped.
“That was the only thing, right? I couldn’t see myself when I was you, but now you’re here!” Laios Junior flew around happily. And, luckily for them, there was a gauntlet of challenges waiting for them ahead. First those islands with those huge monsters, and now he had his very own little monster (that Marcille said not to eat, and he wouldn’t! Not this one – despite being very curious about it).
He also wasn’t apparently allowed to do the challenge at the Star Trail. Something, something he’d find it boring?
So he ended up in Archimedes Ward – a straightforward battle would probably be best. Writing his name next to his spiramonster’s, he turned and gave a thumbs up to his beautiful new friend. “Alright Little Laios, let’s go.”
Maybe he couldn’t eat the spiramonsters, but at least he could see how they do in combat.
Walking onto a stage, Little Laios followed behind him, part-gallop, part-pouncing, part-flying. Alright, so who were they gonna…
“Welcome to our qualifier’s round of our Spiramonster Contest, our fifth challenger for this evening…Laios and…Little Laios!” There was some confusion, but Laios the Smaller seemed to eat it up, and Laios himself was waving. Apparently it was some kind of contest…
“The winner of the qualifier will enter into a battle with Diadem’s own spiramonster! Will it be…” A list of spiramonsters were called out, and the audience cheered for the cute cats and the big dogs, the weird little beings and the charming drakes. There was some cheering and clapping for Laios Junior, but Laios was the loudest of all.
After all, he was aware that he had designed the ideal monster (although since it was on the smaller side now, he wondered if there would be scaling complications…).
The contest began, and there were bubbles blown, and there were fire rings, and there were dazzling displays of light. When it was their turn, he couldn’t help but be smug. “Alright, Laios Junior! Show them what you’ve got. Triple Head Attack!” The chimera launched itself into the air, spinning around as all three heads chomped wildly. If anything was in the way, it definitely would’ve been torn apart. A strategic move that utilizes all three.

On his next turn, Laios followed it up in the only way he could think of, “Laios the Second, show them…Your secret fourth head! Venom Spit!” The spiramonster turned around to reveal…The snake head, which wiggled as it was shown. It spit its venom into the air, raining down purple liquid on the stage.

For their final turn, after all the venom had been cleaned up, Laios considered his observations of the other spiramonsters. Laios the Second swooped into the air, a moment of magnificence, “Alright Little Laios…Mighty Gust!” The other spiramonsters were small in comparison, with one even being made out of plant fluff. Little Laios made a huge tornado with its wings, spinning around with it. And…
The other spiramonsters blew away. Laios and Laios Junior cheered as everyone else looked on.

Holding Little Laios (who really wasn’t so little, it was definitely the size of a large dog), the judges cleared their throats. “In fifth place…Laios and Little-….Laios the…Uh, his spiramonster.” Small smatters of clapping were heard throughout the arena, but Laios and his spiramonster were the most surprised of all.
"I don't think you can recreate a grimace, whatever it is. It sounded pretty one of a kind with how they described it to me!" Mitsuri hands him the shake, it's half-gone already seeing as she's been making quick work of them but he should still be able to enjoy the rest all the same!
"--My name is Mitsuri, by the way! It's nice to meet you and be able to share a treat like this!"
