Excuses to use for the prey not being digested, a Masterlist:
- The pred’s species can’t digest living things/can only digest plant matter or inorganic substances
- The shrinking process (weather it be science or magic) grants the prey increased durability/compresses the prey’s atoms so they’re more compact and can’t be broken down.
- The prey has a protective charm or spell cast on them
- The pred can drink a specially made medicine or magic potion that allows for safe eatings
- The prey species is acid-resistant, and is built to survive in bellies
- The pred’s body is designed to hold smaller beings, all members of their species can keep prey safe at will through either magic or science
- The pred can “turn off” their digestion at will by secreting an enzyme that nullifies the acid
- Conversely, the prey can secrete an enzyme that nullifies the digestion of any pred who eats them up
- The pred has a “second stomach” that doesn’t digest anything, like a crop
- The prey has a special protective suit that protects from being digested
- The prey (or pred) always carries a bottle of comically strong antiacids or a magic potion with them just for these occasions
- The pred or prey was cursed/blessed with the ability to survive being eaten (or in the pred’s case, the ability to eat someone safely) by some higher power
- The pred has a magical pact with the prey stating that they can’t hurt them, which includes digestion
- The pred’s “stomach” isn’t even really a stomach at all, they’re a robot/mystical being that doesn’t need to eat
