I desperately need some of y'all to acknowledge that there are different lines of canon
"Cleo and Deuce is toxic. Did you read the books? Cleo and Deuce literally cheated on each other"
Did YOU read the books? That is an entirely different universe from other g1 projects. Monster High doesn't even exist until the very end of the last book, it's impossible for book Cleo and Deuce to be the main Cleo and Deuce most g1 fans are familiar with
I'm also not going to pretend that I remember everything about the books, but as far as I remember Deuce didn't do any actual cheating just made the very stupid decision to go to the dance with another girl, maybe he didn't mean it as friends I don't know, it's been a long time. Cleo did kiss another boy, and Deuce got kissed by another girl. But if I'm not talking about the books or all Monster High Media as a whole, none of this has any impact on Cleuce.
Hate whatever ships you want but what the characters did in the books have 0 impact on them in the webisodes and movies
Even though it's not generally my cup of tea, this applies to g3 vs g1 too, they're entirely different universes and have no effect on each other. I'm not saying you can't dislike the changes made in g3 but none of them change the canon of g1
#also saw someone say they cheated in the doll diaries but I haven't read all of them so I can't really speak on that
On this note, does anyone know what they're talking about?
I'm really curious what they could be referring to with that or if they're all just parroting something they heard someone else say who was misinformed or just talking out of their ass about a ship they don't like. Even if it's bad, I do still like reading about these characters I like, I want to know and understand their flaws
I'm still working on reading through the diaries but I haven't found anything yet and the only thing that has been coming to mind is the rumor that Deuce cheated with Frankie when the haunt couture dolls came out, but that ended up not being what happened and was just a rumor
