Whiterose week day 1: eye contact/ love at first sight

Weiss and Rubys first meeting wasn’t the most ideal situation. The excitable redhead had been sprinting down the hall, frantically trying to get to class before it was too late. Weiss was already halfway through the door when Ruby slammed into her, sending them both tumbling to the ground and causing them both to drop all the books in their arms. 

Weiss was so angry that she ended up standing up fast enough to cause the dunce laying on her back to get thrown back into the wall. Ruby groaned as she looked up at Weiss and blue met silver. When their eyes met all of Weiss’ anger melted away as she stared at this undeniably adorable girl. It was a different predicament for Ruby, who immediately scrambled to pick up both of their books

Weiss, she wanted to help but she could barely take her eyes off of this dunce with beautiful silver eyes. Her eyes were the most striking things about her, in Weiss’ opinion at least. She could tell they weren’t gray or a very light blue even in the poor light of the classroom, they were pure silver. By the time Ruby had finished picking up the books class had already started and Glynda was already glaring at them for not being in their seats.

“u-uh, I'm so sorry” Ruby began as she handed Weiss all of her dropped things “I wasn’t looking and I was just trying to get to class” 

Usually, Weiss would’ve chewed someone's ear off for so much as knocking a book off of her desk as they walked past, but for some reason, she just couldn’t bring herself to yell at this dolt “It’s fine. just go sit down” she said with a huff before walking away, noting how relieved the girl was

Ruby was so relieved she almost melted but a firm glare from the scary looking professor sent her speed walking off to her seat. She quickly sat down before noticing the white-haired beauty she had bumped into sat a row in front of her. She felt a little bad but didn’t have time to dwell on it as the lesson had already started and the professor wasn’t wasting any time writing notes on the board. 

As usual, Ruby’s attention ended up being pulled elsewhere, but instead of thinking of the newest Pokemon game or something else of the sort, she thought about the girl she had bumped into. She remembered her beautiful blue eyes, her snowy white hair, how much she wanted to kiss her...she shook her head and poked herself in the forehead with her pencil. She shouldn’t be thinking these thoughts about a girl she just met, even if she was pretty...nope! no more thoughts about pretty girls. 

Ruby found herself with her head in her arms and staring at the girl again. By looking at the name atop her notes she could tell her name was Weiss “what a pretty name” she whispered quietly to herself, unfortunately catching the attention of her older sister, who sat behind her.

 “who's got a pretty name?” Yang asked teasingly as she leaned over her desk to bop Ruby’s head 

“No one, now shut up” Ruby snapped back defensively as she flicked Yang’s nose with her pencil 

“Are you sure you don’t have a little crush?” she asked as a smug smile appeared on her face

“I’m sure, now go away” 

“is it the ice queen?” Yang then ruffled Ruby’s hair, which caused her to huff in annoyance “I’m only saying this to warn you but, Weiss doesn’t date” 

that lowered Rubys spirits significantly “what do you mean?” she asked as her shoulders slumped 

“every guy and girl who’s ever tried to ask her out has been shot down real hard, she’s never, ever dated anyone” Yang explained as she glanced at Weiss “Who knows, she didn't scream at you when you bumped into her earlier so maybe you’ll be the one to melt the ice queens heart” 

Unbeknownst to them, Weiss could very much hear what they were saying, and she wasn’t very happy with the ice queen nickname but she then began wondering why she took mercy on this dolt. Maybe it was her striking silver eyes, her adorable face, or was it the way she promptly went to help? whatever it was, Weiss was determined to find out what made this dolt so special to her...
