Submitting a new poem because felt like it.
It’s a funny thing,
friendship that is.
It can happen so randomly.
So unexpectedly.
And at so many levels.
It can be so sudden and so real,
or slow-witted,
and yet, so superficial.
Every person you meet
Can be considered a friend;
Still there are those who cling to your very heart;
Those who you hold oh so very dear.
Best friends can become strangers,
Just as with time, we lose track of them.
Like scars on skin they fade away;
But will always stay part of us; their name a part of our own.
Some strangers are destined to become best friends,
Like our favourite song, we learn to know and memorize every part of them;
Their ups and downs, rhythm, beat,
and what makes them so unique.
If you recon you have it;
Please enjoy it and make the most out of it.
For it is one of life’s most precious gifts,
And with all the twists and turns, we never know when that could change.
So come, let’s sit together and enjoy our time.
In you I found an invaluable relic;
What Watson is to Sherlock, Daisy to Minnie, and Robin to Batman.
And I am not willing to ever lose that.
My dear friend;
May the sun never falter in your days.
And if it does, remember
I am here, I will be your guiding light.
Just in case you plan to leave,
There is something I need to say,
Please friend, stay, there still is room for you in me.
But if our paths do divide,
May wind fill your wings and carry you far.
May your path be filled with achievements and the thrill of life.
If you ever miss home I’m only a breath away.
