my tumblr app has been acting weird on my phone, so this is my long overdue tea time from yesterday. I haven't been able to have a proper sit down session since I've been so busy with life, but this was a well-deserved relaxing time.. This is a brand new tea I bought a long time ago, it is a Yunnan Purple Beauty green tea from Lancang, and I have been saving it kind of for a special occasion. The taste it amazing, it has a grassy sweet flavor, and a fruity tone that is almost identical as light roasted coffee. I noticed throughout my session it also had almost a slight sour aftertaste, that reminded me of szechuan peppercorns... Besides the flavor, this tea really is unique. When brewed, the leaves are a dark green color, but has a blue tint to it, and I wish I drank this in a white teacup, or a glass one because the color of the tea was also very interesting too. I couldn't tell if it was the color of my teacup, but the liquid was almost a purplish-yellow color. Anyways I totally reccomend this tea, I bought it off Yunnan Sourcing during one of my bulk orders.

Tea time from yesterday evening.. lowkey had a hard time sleeping cause of it but man was it good.. recently the weather has been warming up and I’ve been really busy so I haven’t got the time for tea, but now hopefully my schedule is getting lighter to hopefully many more! I always go in and out of my plant phase, but right now I’ve gotten a bunch more for my room. I had the purple white tea and since it has a really fruity taste, pairing it with oranges and green apple really enhances the sweetness and scent of the tea! I typically watch something while I drink, since for me it makes it more engaging and fun, especially since the one I’m watching is a dating show 😭.

Drinking some jinjunmei tea with my some of my newly fired pieces. I’m using my matching tea tray and gongdaobei and it works great, albeit the tea tray is a bit smaller than what I typically use. I made a lid for the gongdaobei and it’s there for aesthetics but to also help keep the tea warmer. I love the glazing for the gaiwan, it has a warm tan base color with hints of baby blue, and it kinda reminds me of a river.

This will be one of the many tea sets I’ll be using for now on! I do ceramics so I made the teacup, teapot and tea pet. My tea pet is currently going through the initiation process and I’m using osmathus green tea. Since I find teapots that have a ball filter/filter spout hard to clean, I usually don’t put it in my teapots and so if the tea leaves is lower quality/has addins, it arrives in my tea cup when I don’t use a gongdaobei. This is my first time dip glazing, and I use mayco lavender mist, which turned out very well! Hopefully most of pieces will be fired and out of the kiln in the next couple of days so I will post a kiln haul!!

Happy holidays! Today I was feeling special and had two types of tea, first black tea and secondly some oolong tea. TBH I don’t know what type of oolong tea it is, but it’s in its signature ball/coiled form so it’s either dong ding… or tie guan yin… but this is one of the most enjoyable teas I have. The oolong tea is very coconutty and floral and the after taste is very fragrant. It smells pretty similar to pollen imo. The black tea, is very honey like and roasted, perfect for this time of the year. In the beginning I didn’t like black tea a whole lot since it just tasted burnt and like dirt to me, but after finding some good quality ones it tasted very fruity with caramel undertones. Today it’s raining pretty heavily so drinking tea in this weather with the heavy raindrops felt nice.

Orange Mocha, Aerocano, & Kix Cereal Cappuccino. I kinda gave up doing latte art, but I find myself using the steam wand everyday just to make hot chocolate and other drinks that need a mixing. It takes a while but it’s quite efficient. My steam wand gets pretty dirty but a cup of water and Cafiza makes it brand new. If anyone got any steaming tips let me know, I’m stumped.

Black sesame latte & a large cup of hazelnut mocha from earlier today! It was raining a lot yesterday which means today’s weather is even better.

Charcuterie with a friend! We had some mushroom infused Brie and some baked lemon ricotta which all tasted amazing paired with crackers, fruit chocolates and some macarons as a special treat. A tea pairing we had was this white tea called Buddha’s’ blend by David’s tea, which tasted amazing with the charcuterie. All the dishes were made by me, except the bear cups and the plates underneath. I would totally recommend doing this with friends since it’s such a bonding activity of setting the table, and chit chatting about the creative flavor pairings everyone makes.

Wonderful weather outside! It’s sunny but it’s cold enough to enjoy some tea. Today I’m having some purple white tea, with a gaiwan, celadon cup, and my tiger tea pet that I all made. I’m trying to make my own gongdaobei in the studio, but I’m picky on the size, shape and color. This tea is really reminiscent to me of white tea, except the flavor is much stronger, and more tart, somewhat cherry like too. I find the tea leaves to be really unique, different from typical color and shape. Hope everyone is having a good day!
