The Sims 4 Story — Episode 2

After finishing the housework, Erika joins Phoenix in the living room. What follows is a quiet evening together—watching TV, sharing stories, and slowly growing closer.

A new sentiment begins to form between them, but what could it mean for their relationship?

Eventually, Phoenix falls asleep on the sofa while Erika heads upstairs to bed. Left awake and alone, Phoenix prepares a late-night meal and spends the rest of the evening watching TV.

But when morning arrives, Erika’s schedule takes control.

Her scheduled activity begins automatically, sending her out for a run along the waterfront—where she discovers the Fitness skill along the way.

🔨 From the Foundry

This series is an autonomous storytelling experiment created in The Sims 4.

I set up Erika and Phoenix’s home, routines, and custom mods, but I try not to control their everyday decisions. Their autonomous actions determine how the story develops.

Foundry Tips #04 — Find What’s Breaking Your Game 🔍

Broken interactions? Endless loading screens? Strange issues after a game update?

A mod may be causing the problem—but you don’t need to test every file individually. Try the 50/50 Method.

🔍 How It Works

Temporarily remove about half of your mods.

Launch the game and test the issue again.

If the problem remains, the broken mod is probably in the half still installed.

If the problem disappears, it’s probably in the half you removed.

Split the suspicious group in half again and repeat.

50% → 25% → 12.5% → 6.25% → 🔎 Found it

This method can quickly narrow hundreds of files down to the one causing trouble.

⚠️ Protect Your Saves

Be careful when loading saves with mods temporarily removed. Whenever possible, troubleshoot using a separate test save—especially with mods or custom content that affect Sims, objects, traits, careers, or gameplay systems.

🔨 From the Foundry

The 50/50 Method helps determine whether an issue comes from the game, a broken mod, or a conflict between multiple mods.

Finding the problematic file is the first step.

Development on Schedule Mod continues.

In the previous dev logs, I showed how players can create a scheduled task and how those tasks are saved and restored in the task list.

Now, the next piece of task management is working:

Editing an existing schedule.

✏️ Change your routine without starting over

Plans change — and your Sims' routines should be able to change with them.

Instead of deleting a task and creating it again, you can select an existing task from the schedule list and edit its settings.

For example, you can change:

📅 The scheduled days

🕐 The scheduled time

🏃 The routine settings

Once the changes are saved, the existing task is updated and the new schedule takes effect.

🔨 Building the Task Manager

This is part of a larger goal for Schedule Mod: giving players full control over their routines directly from the task list.

The task management system is being built around four basic actions:

Enable / Disable • Edit • Delete • Manage

Editing is now another piece of that system in place.

The first activity is still Go Jogging, but the task management system is being designed as the foundation for more scheduled activities in the future.

🛠️ Foundry Tip #03 — Master Any Skill Faster

Need to test a high-level skill without spending hours leveling your Sim?

The Sims 4 lets you set many skills instantly using cheats.

🎯 Set a Skill Level

Enable cheats:testingcheats true

Then use:stats.set_skill_level [Skill] [Level]

Example:stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 10

Your active Sim will immediately have Level 10 Fitness.

Cookingstats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking 10

Logicstats.set_skill_level Major_Logic 10

Charismastats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma 10

Programmingstats.set_skill_level Major_Programming 10

You can replace 10 with any supported level.

As a mod creator, I use this constantly to test interactions, unlocks, animations, and skill-dependent gameplay without spending hours grinding.

⚒️ Using this with Schedule Mod

Fitness is one of the first activities supported in Schedule Mod Preview. Setting your Sim's Fitness level with cheats is a great way to quickly test different scheduled jogging routines.

Keep your Sims on track with a flexible scheduling system that helps automate daily activities. Schedule Mod is designed to make your Sims feel more independent by allowing you to create routines that run automatically throughout the day.

This is the first public preview of the mod and showcases the core scheduling workflow. More features are already in development and will be included in the official v0.1 release.

The Sims 4 Story — Episode 1

Erika begins her morning by checking her daily schedule, preparing something in the kitchen, and spending a little time on her own.

Then Phoenix joins her.

What starts as an ordinary day slowly turns into a long afternoon together—talking, sharing a meal, watching TV, and enjoying the quiet moments of everyday life.

There is no dramatic event or carefully scripted scene—just two Sims getting to know each other and allowing their story to unfold naturally.

🔨 From the Foundry

This series is an autonomous storytelling experiment created in The Sims 4.

🛠️ Foundry Tip #01 — 5 Sims 4 Cheats I Actually Use

Sometimes you don't need another mod—you just need the right cheat. 😄

Here are five cheats I use regularly while playing, testing, and developing Sims 4 gameplay mods.

1️⃣ Enable Testing Cheats

testingcheats true

The first command I enter in almost every save.

💡 Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the cheat console.

2️⃣ Free Object Placement

bb.moveobjects on

Perfect for decorating, building, and creating custom testing environments without placement restrictions.

3️⃣ Unlock Hidden Objects

bb.showhiddenobjects

Reveals hidden and debug objects in Build/Buy Mode.

Great for exploring game assets or setting up specific gameplay scenarios.

4️⃣ Set Household Funds

money 50000

Instead of adding money repeatedly, set your household funds directly to any amount you need.

5️⃣ Reset a Stuck Sim

resetsim FirstName LastName

If a Sim gets stuck or an interaction breaks, this command usually fixes it instantly.

Example:resetsim Bella Goth

⚒️ Modding Tip

Cheats save an incredible amount of testing time.

Instead of spending hours preparing the perfect scenario, I can instantly create the conditions I need to test gameplay, interactions, and new features.

Which cheat do you use the most?

🗓️ How Schedule Mod Started

Every day, our Sims end up doing the same things.

Go jogging.

Practice a skill.

Work out.

Read a book.

And every day... we're the ones telling them to do it.

That simple idea led to Schedule Mod.

Instead of manually repeating the same interactions over and over, why not let Sims follow a routine automatically?

🏃 It All Started with Jogging

The very first prototype focused on a single activity:

Go Jogging

Not because jogging was the end goal—but because it was the perfect way to build and test the scheduling system itself.

The real challenge wasn't the activity.

It was creating a reliable system that could:

🗓️ Create recurring schedules

💾 Save schedules between game sessions

⏰ Detect when it's time to start

🎮 Trigger interactions automatically

🤖 Handle situations where a Sim is busy or unavailable

Once that foundation works well, supporting more activities becomes much easier.

Every Mod Foundry project starts small.

Rather than trying to build everything at once, I prefer to create a solid foundation, gather feedback, and expand from there.
