Dress like a woman… over 150 years ago. (Full disclosure: I’ve found out that the photo is actually a different French novelist, Colette, who is best known for her Novella “Gigi” on which the classic movie of the same title was based. The photo may not actually be George Sand, but is a decent stand-in for her style. When George Sand was this age, photography was in its infancy. But the point stands absolutely unchanged.)
