A unique opportunity came knocking on the door of the young karate champ, Krishnav Bhatt of Grade VII as he was selected to be a part of the twelve member team scheduled to meet the Delhi Chief Minister, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal on 6th November 2019. Krishnav has earned plaudits for his exemplary skills and talents and has represented the school at national and international levels of Karate Competitions. Post an enriching tête-à-tête, the Hon’ble Chief Minister wished him the best for his upcoming tournaments.

Commemorating the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the young learners of Pre-Nursery and class I paid a visit to Gurdwara to offer their prayers to the eternal living Sikh Guru. Chanting the hymns with folded hands, the students tapped into their spiritual selves and immersed in the aura of piety. Basking in the ambience of tranquility, the young ones reconnected with their roots and culture in the sacred portals.

Stimulating the inquisitive learners of Pre-Nursery to fathom the different colours across the spectrum, each week a new colour & shape introduced through a host of exciting hands-on activities. Generally associated with purity, perfection and peace. This week the tiny tots familiarized themselves with the colour-white & shape-star. Emboldening the fine motor skills of the munchkins in ‘Spider Web’ and ‘Craft Stick Stars’, the creative expression and originality of the students were encouraged to aid their holistic development. Inculcating the spirit of teamwork and cooperation, the collaborative learning environment enabled the young minds to attain mastery at games such as ‘Sift and Find’ and ‘Pasting cutouts of Penguins’.

Transcending the boundaries of theoretical education, 26 students from Grades VI-XI travelled across the pristine shores of USA in a school trip from 10th June to 22nd June. Accompanied by 3 teacher in-charges, the young cavalcade embraced the tenets of team spirit and cooperation as they traversed the haloed portals of NASA, Universities of Harvard and MIT, UNGA, Madame Tussauds, Niagara Falls, Universal studio. The sojourn across the landscape of New York, Boston and Orlando broadened their spectrum of learning. Witnessing the towering Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building in all its glory was nothing short of a dream come true for the joyous learners. Invigorated and emboldened by the novel experience, the culmination of the trip marked the beginning of their dreams at excelling all avenues, backed by renewed vigour and confidence.

Wicked Witchy Desserts Riding high on the wave of Halloween, the young master chefs of Grade III stirred a culinary delight as they prepared Wicked Witchy Desserts with abundant joy. Cooking without fire, the young minds dabbled in a wide array of interesting ingredients such as desiccated coconut, nuts, spices, crumbled cupcakes, muffins and moulded them into fascinating shapes of ghosts, bats, black cats and spiders. Exploring their creativity and imagination, the enthusiastic students were visibly elated to work in unison and let their talents produce a dish of deliciousness.

Groove on Indian Moves An embodiment of the rich cultural diversity of India, the folk dances encompass the ethos of our heritage that mould our existence. Matching steps to the rustic beats of the lively music celebrating indigenous traditions, the budding artistes of Grade II donned colourful attires and participated with unbridled enthusiasm in the Solo Folk Dance Competition. Exuding unparalleled confidence and passion for the varied dance forms, the mirthful learners let their troubles slide away as they immersed in the wondrous world of melody.

Simulating the assembly of the world’s largest peacekeeping body, United Nations, the young scholars of Grade V donned their thinking caps and got into the shoes of the political bigwigs to deliver iconic speeches given by world leaders. The impassioned speeches on varied pertinent issues not only provided a profound insight into the malaise plaguing the world but also helped the meritorious students understand the responsibilities shouldered by the goliaths of the political arena to collectively ascertain global peace and harmony.

A Rangoli Competition in the premises of MDPS witnessed the unfurling of young creative talents of Grade IV as the students assembled in groups to breathe a new life into the age-old tradition. Deftly working their way with flowers and colours, the young minds diligently put in their best efforts to create fascinating designs in the new assembly area and the entrance to the classrooms. Embodying the mirth of the oncoming festival of Diwali, the gleaming faces exhibited commendable teamwork and cooperation.

Daan Utsav – The Joy of Giving Proferring essential values of life, the conscientious learners of Grade I were encouraged to participate in the Daan Utsav. Kindling the spirit of love and compassion for the less fortunate, the event witnessed the young philanthropic students distributing clothes, books, stationery items, water bottles, lunch boxes and toys to the underprivileged children. A precursor to the festival of Diwali, the young learners delved into their generous hearts to light up the lives of their fellow community members.

Celebrating 100 Days of Schooling Commemorating the pivotal learning milestones of the tiny tots of Pre-Nursery and Nursery, MDPS, Sec-87 celebrated the 100 days of schooling with immense zeal. Applauding the young learners on their earnestness and diligence, the facilitators encouraged the mirthful students to continue pursuing the path of excellence and embark on their academic journey with unbridled joy. Garbed in Vibrant attires, the young scholars looked resplendent as their mentors greeted them with a tootsie roll and cookies arranged in the pattern of the number-100. Delving in a wide array of exciting games, the classrooms resonated with cheer and delight.

जिलास्तरीय श्लोक एवं चौपाई गायन प्रतियोगिता जन कल्याण संस्था के तत्वावधान में मॉडर्न दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल के सभागार में 23 अक्टूबर 2019, बुधवार को कक्षा 1 से 10वीं तक के छात्र / छात्राओं की जिलास्तर पर श्लोक एवं चौपाई गायन प्रतियोगिता संस्था के पदाधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में आयोजित की गई। इस प्रतियोगिता में 5 विद्यालयों के छात्र / छात्राओं ने बढ़ चढ़कर भाग लिया| अंत में संस्था के अध्यक्ष श्री एस॰ सी॰ गुप्ता जी ने विद्यार्थियों को श्रीमद भगवद्गीता एवं श्रीरामचरित मानस के महत्व को बताते हुए प्रतियोगिता का परिणाम घोषित किया। इस प्रतियोगिता का संचालन कक्षा छठी की छात्रा कुमारी अवधि जैन ने किया।

Illumine Hearts this Diwali! Piercing through the darkness of ignorance, animosity and bitterness that disrupts the peace of the society, the torchbearers of the future generation advocated the necessity of illuminating the hearts with the warmth of love, compassion and empathy in a special assembly on Diwali. The dynamic learners of Grades VI C and VI G enthralled the audience with a brilliant musical presentation of Ramayana, inspiring all to tread the path of righteousness. Addressing the gathering, Mr. U.S. Verma, Director Principal lauded the zestful performance of the students and further encouraged the young minds to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali.

Immersed in the festive spirit, the effervescent learners of Grade I actively participated in the Kala Utsav Competition. Unfurling their creativity and imagination, the enthusiasm of the young students reached its apex as they decorated their classrooms with bandhanwar. Embellishing the diyas, thalis and kalash with great finesse, the learners exuded the radiance of the festival of lights. 

Advocating the need to appreciate the bedrock of one’s existence, the effervescent learners of class Nursery celebrated the joys of familial bonds in an assembly on the theme: ‘Our small world-Our Family’ showcasing their myrial skill-sets, the jubilant students displayed their flair for oratory, drama, music and dance. Instilling the values of respect towards family members, the facilitators inspired the young ones to develop a better connect with their loved ones.

Exhibiting remarkable sangfroid and steadfast determination, Krishnav Bhatt of Grade VII aced the 3rd Delhi NCR State Karate Championship and won the gold medal at the event. Kudos to Krishnav for winning plaudits for his outstanding sportsman spirit.

A validation of the earnest efforts and dedication put in by the budding sport stars to attain the zenith of success, Anant Choudhary of Grade VII bagged the first position in SGFI U-14 cricket held in Faridabad from 9th to 11th October. Competing against students from varied districts of Haryana, the ironclad will and physical endurance of Anant shone through as he led his team to victory in a nail-biting finish.

Anubhati Bhatia and Ishitaa Malhotra of Grade VIII clinched the second position in the State Level Gymnastic Competition held at Rohtak from 17th to 19th September.
