i support abortion. why? well here are 3 extremely rare and tragic examples of situations where abortion still wasn’t necessary but i want to emotionally manipulate you into thinking the 99% of abortions done to healthy babies by financially stable people purely out of convenience are equivalent to 12 year old trisomy-3 chemotherapy incest rape poverty
“We need abortion because of rape!”
“Ok, lets say I agree that we should outlaw abortion except in the case of rape. Are you with me now?”
“What!?? No, of course not”
“Then why bring it up?”
“Whoah, this chat bot that Google designed to mimic human speech seems really lifelike! It must be sentient.”
Those in tech can be some of the most gullible members of society. Probably stems from working in a field that is actively trying to destroy our sense of reality.

Technology won’t save us from problems caused by technology
Spider-man far from home is the scariest movie ever made, probably
1. Is fully autonomous killer drones being played for a laugh instead of the absolute most horrific thing that we could invent, whenever those are invented they will be the death of any possibility of free government on this earth. It’s just mind-bogglingly horrible, it genuinely keeps me up at night whenever I think about it too much.
2. Is just how mysterio uses technology to destroy reality, another horrifying thing that is currently happening.

@uncle-cazador this one made me think of you for some reason
Thats totally how I’d conquer the male half. Aint nobody kicked my ass harder than I have.
Reasons why Fallout 5 should be set in central Illinois:
No big cities around, only cool farming communities
Springfield has the tallest Capitol building in the US (aside from Louisiana’s in Baton Rouge, but look it up and you’ll see why I don’t count it.) idk how this contributes but it counts for something
Opportunities for cool downstate Illinois bootlegger gang faction, just like from prohibition (Al Capone sucks, all my homies like Charlie Birger) this faction could also call in air strikes, just like the real ones did
Many jokes about “Chicago’s probably better now that it’s a crater” and “the radiation probably improved those folks from Naperville” can be made
Corn
Casey, IL has a lot of the world’s biggest things (mailbox, knitting needles, rocking chair, etc) and would be a neat settlement location
A town here has the mascot of the wooden shoes, that could inspire a faction or somethn idk
It could literally just be a fallout themed farm simulator, that would be fun
If I remember my lore correctly, midwestern BoS was wiped out. This is a good thing
There’s old myths about giant birds here, some still claim to see them. That’d be a fun enemy to fight
Lots of corn
Faction similar to the kings in New Vegas, but they are all dressed like Abe Lincoln
Somehow Illinois still has a governor, and a side quest is finding a reason for him to be thrown in jail, as is traditional
Thinking about joining the children of atom, hmmm.
i join them because they’re the only religious group and i like that some of their guys are called zealots
There’s something legit about them. You drank the irradiated spring water and saw the same vision that others had told stories about. The creatures of the island wouldn’t harm you. They have SOME kind of power. Even if they’re nothing more than the next stage of human evolution - humans who thrive in radiation - it proves that they’re worth preserving and guiding.
Don’t forget about the priest in Diamond City. I think they were afraid of portraying religion in a positive light. Cultures are only atheist if they’re forced to be so; people in hardship like farmer in Fallout would cling to it fervently.
It’s one of those things that I HATE about FO4. Travel in the irradiated wasteland is dangerous and rare, so communities become insular. Well and good, that makes a ton of sense. But why, WHY are there Mexicans with accents, Chinese with accents, fucking INDIANS (dot not feather) with accents, all in Boston? That makes no sense! Also, why are there SO MANY black people? Up north (like in Boston) blacks are almost entirely city dwellers. Where were the nukes targeted? Cities. So take a tiny minority population, blow it up with nuclear bombs. The few survivors would have no choice but to be subsumed into the local genepool. After 210 years, there wouldn’t be any blacks left, just people whose great-great-great-great-grandparents were black. The only black people, by rights, should be pre-war ghouls, which opens up a lot of interesting possibilities for writers.
good points all around, i often forget about the diamond city priest because he’s just kinda there, no substance to him at all
(although you can find the priest outfit in the world which is fun for roleplaying purposes)
once again bethesda misses out on whole new world building opportunities
@crabs-and-badgers yeah that’s been my thinking as well. I drank the water, and then I had a vision of one of their deities or whatever without having previous knowledge of her existence. Moreover, she led me to a statue of her that I didn’t know about. I feel like that’s nothing to sneeze at.
Also, the dude in diamond city is SO lame. Especially since they did nothing with him. There’s no way in Hell that the equivalent of the Unitarians are the only ones surviving the nuclear apocalypse. Realistically speaking, the Catholic Church would have a high chance of being in a position of power all over the commonwealth after the bombs fell, considering that we are probably the most organized group in the country that isn’t the government, and even if communication was lost in a diocese for a time, all of our parishes could operate more or less independently until they’re reconnected with the bishop. Moreover, it’d probably be us that would spearhead reconnecting whatever fledgling civilizations pop back up after the dust is settled.

the angels speak latin
Demons speak latin too
There’s actually an angel whose job it is to translate all our prayers to Latin so God can understand them
You're saying the all powerful Almighty, who created speech and all human beings, can only understand one language? He's the one who created the different languages at the tower of Babel
it’s not that He can’t understand other languages He just chooses not to
Languages God speaks: Latin, Greek (any kind), Biblical Hebrew, Old Church Slavonic, Italian, Spanish, Polish
Languages God doesn’t speak: German, Arabic, French, English, modern Hebrew, Mandarin Chinese
You forgot that God also speaks Croatian, fool
