I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Because you keep policing people's headcanons, making fun of them and calling them horrible things, and on top of that, you're somehow claiming to be a safe space for people to express their creativity, yet turning around and harassing them anyways because you've made a billion exceptions to the "don't police people" rule and you think, like everyone else who's made their own exceptions, that your exceptions justify harassment.

So you're making fandom into a field of rat traps where nobody even dares interact with anyone, or shares art anymore, because you still might just attack them for it because they did something as simple as writing a canonically soft character as... a softie.

Like, I understand both of these things are considered bad by others, and it's okay to dislike them; no one is forcing you to like them. But obviously, you've gone too far if you start bullying people for liking it.

i really hate to break this to you, but no matter how palatable you try and make a fandom, ‘normal’ people will still think it’s weird. there is basically nothing you can do to make a fandom be perceived as ‘normal’ by people who are not in fandoms, especially if the fandom you’re trying to sanitise is an anime fandom.

fandom is not meant to be perceived as ‘normal’. fandom was built for the freaks, by the freaks /affectionate , and the only reason that people care about being perceived as ‘normal’ now is because of the influx of people entering fandom spaces during lockdown and shaming others for ‘weird’ content that’s been around since the dawn of fandoms.

if anyone tries to blame you/the content you make for how a fandom is viewed, they’re just a fandom cop trying to shame you into catering to them. do not listen to them.

i’m being so serious when i say this — the ‘weird’, or ‘problematic’, or ‘freaky’ content that you make is not harming your fandom in any way. in fact, it’s improving your fandom and playing a part in keeping your fandom alive, whilst also slowly-but-surely fighting back against the rising tide of puritans trying to destroy fandom culture. do not listen to anything a fandom cop has to say, it’s all purely self-serving virtue-signalling designed to shame others.
