This will be my last upload to this website. Tumblr and Yahoo have made it abundantly clear that they are on the side of censorship in the name of profit. I cannot and will not in good conscience support a website that doesn’t respect an artists creative rights no matter what form they take.
For some strange reason, the human body and the pleasures one can derive from it are, in this websites opinion, something that is not fit for the viewing the general public. I find it to be incredibly hypocritical to hear this from a website that professes to support creativity in all forms. Nevertheless, Tumblr has changed its Terms Of Service to ban the display of all artwork that could be considered explicit or sexual.
There is nothing shameful about the human body. There is nothing shameful about sex. There is nothing shameful about depicting sexual acts in your artwork. These things harm no one, they cannot cause pain, they do not directly induce feelings of distress or discomfort. It is only your personal feelings on these subjects that cause a negative experience. If you don’t want to view this type of artwork, then ignore its existence. You do not have to view it if you do not want to. If you’re on a website that displays this type of artwork despite your wishes, then find a different website. But DO NOT, EVER, PRESUME TO TELL AN ARTIST WHAT THEY CAN AND CANNOT CREATE. That is not your place, nor is it anyone else’s besides the artist themselves.
Rant over. It’s been fun, guys. Thanks for all of the wonderful positive experiences and kind words. I am not going to completely disappear, I’m just moving. I will be displaying my artwork on my new newgrounds page (http://mobile-kun.newgrounds.com). Seek me out there if you want to continue enjoying my work and supporting me. I will not delete my tumblr pages, I’ll let #staff handle that. I will not do their dirty work for them. I may also use my new twitter page (@mobilekun1) for my drawthread sketches, but that website may be following a similar path... Love is love, art is art. Neither should be censored.
