Valentine's Day
In February, Tokyo Jujutsu High was wrapped in cold air, yet somehow a slightly buoyant atmosphere drifted through it.
Missions and classes continued as usual, but the voices of the students passing each other in the hallways carried a faint excitement.
Geto sat at his desk in the faculty office, staring down at the documents in front of him without even noticing that the coffee in his mug had gone completely cold. More precisely, he was only “looking” at the words, hardly any of them were actually entering his head.
—Today, huh...
How many times had he glanced back at the red circle on the calendar since last night?
Today was Valentine’s Day.
It was the first Valentine’s Day he would spend as Gojo’s lover. Naturally, they had not made their relationship public.
Though, as for Gojo himself, he seemed to be telling people about his relationship with Geto without the slightest hesitation.
But before anything else, Gojo and Geto were colleagues—and teachers.
If rumors started, it would only make the students feel unnecessarily awkward. So, inside the school, they wouldn’t do anything special.
Yes—that was what the two of them had decided. They had decided that… but still—
—Even so...
Geto remembered the presence of the small box inside his bag. He had stood in the kitchen until late last night, failing over and over again before finally managing to make something that took shape. Since Gojo was away on a mission, he had been able to monopolize the kitchen of the apartment they shared.
Gojo liked sweets.
Especially ones where the taste mattered more than the appearance.
Geto knew that. And this was their first Valentine’s Day as lovers. That was precisely why he didn’t want to compromise.
“…Haa.”
Just as he let out a sigh, a voice dropped down from above his head.
“What’s with that face? You look like a teacher who already reached retirement.”
When he looked up, there was Gojo—white hair, a black eye mask, smiling in his usual lighthearted tone.
“How rude. I’m still in the prime of my working years.”
“Oh yeah? Then what’s with that serious look?”
“Work-related concerns.”
“Sounds fake.”
Laughing, Gojo leaned casually against the edge of Geto’s desk. The distance between them was, strictly speaking, that of colleagues.
But their gaze alone belonged to lovers.
“Hey, are you a little free after school today?”
“Do you have something in mind?”
“Mmm, no mission or anything. Just… kind of.”
Just kind of.
At that phrasing, his chest gave a small leap.
“Alright. For a little while.”
“Yes!”
Seeing Gojo smile in clear satisfaction over just that, Geto lowered his gaze.
Will he be happy?
Will he think it’s too heavy?
Carrying those anxieties in his heart, time steadily passed.
After school.
By the time the students had returned to their dorms and the school building had grown completely quiet—the two of them sat side by side on a bench facing the courtyard.
The winter air was cold, but the color of the sunset sky was soft.
“So, what was it you wanted?”
When Geto asked, Gojo tilted his head.
“Nothing really. I just wanted to see your face, Suguru.”
“You called me out just for that?”
“Is that bad?”
“Not at all.”
For just a brief moment, Gojo’s expression turned serious.
“You’ve been thinking about something this whole time, haven’t you?”
“…You noticed?”
“Well, yeah. I’m your boyfriend, after all.”
At that sweet-and-sour word, something deep in Geto’s chest tightened.
After hesitating just a little, Geto slipped his hand into his pocket. He took out a small box and placed it on his lap.
“Um…”
He paused once before continuing.
“It’s Valentine’s Day today, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Satoru… you like sweets, don’t you?”
“I love them.”
Geto let out a small, wry smile and held out the box.
“Sorry it’s not something store-bought. I tried making it myself. If it doesn’t suit your taste, you don’t have to force yourself to eat it.”
Gojo blinked for a moment, then happily accepted the box.
“Seriously? I can have this?”
“I’d be… happy if you would accept it.”
“Wait—hold on. You made this, Suguru?”
“That reaction is rather hurtful.”
Geto knit his brows in mild annoyance. But only Gojo knew that this was the expression Geto made when he was trying to hide his embarrassment.
Gojo opened the box—and lost his words when he saw what was inside.
It wasn’t flashy. But the chocolates were carefully and neatly arranged.
“I’m happy.”
“I can’t guarantee the taste.”
“No way. It has to be delicious.”
“After all, it’s chocolate you made for me, Suguru,” Gojo said.
He picked up one piece of chocolate and brought it to his mouth as if it were something precious, chewing it slowly. A few seconds later, Gojo let out a small breath.
“…It’s insanely good.”
“Is it really?”
“It is. Why are you this good at this?”
Geto felt the tension leave his shoulders. It seemed he had been more nervous than he realized.
“I just wanted you to be happy, Satoru.”
“That’s cheating. Ahh, now I’m definitely holding you tonight.”
Saying that, Gojo lightly rested his head against Geto’s shoulder.
“Thanks, Suguru. I’ll savor them.”
“Don’t leave any.”
“Of course.”
In the glow of the sunset, their shadows lined up side by side. It seemed his feelings had properly reached him.
For Geto, that was enough.
Time passed.
The surroundings had grown completely dark, and night had deepened. The school grounds were utterly silent. As if the daytime commotion had been a lie, not even footsteps echoed through the halls.
Only the faint light from Gojo’s room spilled out into the darkness.
“Satoru, I’m coming in.”
The moment the door closed, Geto let out a small breath. Even he could tell that the tension that had been sitting in his shoulders had finally eased.
“…I’m tired.”
As he said that and took off his jacket, Gojo watched him silently. The nervousness and embarrassment he had desperately tried to hide during the day—all of it had already been conveyed to Gojo.
“Suguru.”
Just having his name called by Gojo made Geto’s back straighten ever so slightly.
“About the chocolate today.”
Gojo pointed to the small box placed on the desk. The wrapping paper had been carefully removed by his hands. The chocolates were slightly misshapen—clearly homemade at a glance.
And yet…
“I was happy.”
It was just a short sentence. But there was no joking, no teasing—only a completely sincere voice.
At those words, Geto couldn’t help feeling embarrassed and looked away.
“If you say that, then my efforts were worth it.”
His voice remained composed, but the tips of his ears were slightly red.
Gojo stood up and closed the distance between them. Unlike earlier in the day, this was a distance with no escape.
“Earlier, we were in front of the students.”
After saying that as a preface, Gojo gently grabbed Geto’s left wrist.
The pull wasn’t strong.
And yet, there was a firmness in it that didn’t allow Geto to refuse.
“…And now?”
Geto slowly lifted his face.
“Now it’s lovers’ time, right?”
That was the signal.
Gojo closed the distance in one swift motion and pulled Geto into his arms. Geto’s forehead bumped lightly against his chest. He could feel Gojo’s heartbeat directly.
A short breath escaped from both of them at the same time.
Gojo’s body was warmer than Geto had expected.
The way Gojo’s hand stroked his back was completely different from earlier in the day.
There was no hesitation—it was clear he intended to hold him here.
“Trying that hard… isn’t fair, you know,” Gojo murmured, his voice low and slightly husky.
“I just wanted you to be happy, Satoru.”
“That’s exactly why it’s unfair.”
Saying that, Gojo buried his face into Geto’s shoulder.
Feeling the warmth of Gojo’s breath against his neck, heat gradually spread through Geto’s body.
They exchanged soft, gentle kisses, and began helping each other out of their clothes.
The faint rustle of fabric sounded strangely loud in the quiet room.
The strength with which they held each other gradually increased.
As if blocking any escape, as if confirming something, Gojo captured Geto in a deep kiss.
“Mmm… Satoru…”
When Geto breathed out his name, Gojo’s breathing faltered for a brief moment.
“What?”
“…Don’t rush.”
“Impossible.”
The answer came instantly.
Gojo lifted his face and stared straight into Geto’s eyes.
Their gazes intertwined.
At that distance, they could feel each other’s breath.
“I like you so much,” Gojo whispered.
Those words made Geto’s chest tighten with a sweet ache.
“I feel the same,” Geto replied softly.
Gojo’s hand slowly slid down Geto’s back. The touch was comforting, sending a sudden warmth through them both.
“…Satoru… right here…?”
“Can’t wait until we get home?” Geto asked, his eyes glistening.
“If I could wait, we wouldn’t be like this already.”
Gojo’s voice was low as he guided Geto toward the wall, pressing close. Geto let out a shaky breath, looking over his shoulder with a soft smile.
“It’s Valentine’s Day… Won’t you give me everything?”
“Damn it… you’re impossible,” Gojo muttered fondly.
Gojo leaned in, closing the remaining distance between them, and the rest of the world simply faded away. A quiet night wrapped around them later on.
Gojo let out a short, breathless laugh, pressing their foreheads together as they finally caught their breath.
“…Idiot,” Geto murmured fondly.
Gojo’s arms wrapped tightly around him, as if he never wanted to let go.
“I love you, Suguru.” His voice was raw and genuine. Geto wrapped his arms around Gojo’s back, holding him close.
“I know.”
Still embraced, Gojo looked up at the ceiling, his heart still beating fast.
“…Was Valentine’s Day always this amazing?”
“I’m glad you think so.”
“Let’s do it again next year.”
“You’re demanding already?”
“I can’t wait that long.”
Geto chuckled softly and rested his cheek against Gojo’s chest.
“Is this how a teacher should act?”
“As your lover, I’d say I deserve full marks.”
Just the two of them, sharing this peaceful moment. This year’s Valentine’s Day had been a sweet, heart-melting day.
End.
