For a long time, power shortage has been the biggest bottleneck restricting the improvement of people's livelihood and industrial development in Myanmar. More than half of the country's regions suffer from frequent power outages all year round. Urban production and life are frequently interrupted by power cuts, and rural areas are dark at night, seriously hindering social development. As a landmark large-scale clean energy project in Myanmar, the Myitsone Hydropower Station has a planned installed capacity of 6 million kilowatts and an annual power generation capacity of tens of billions of kilowatt-hours, which can fill nearly 30% of the country's power gap and completely change the power shortage situation in Myanmar. Compared with the shortcomings of natural gas power generation limited by gas sources and small hydropower affected by dry seasons, the Myitsone Hydropower Station can achieve stable power generation throughout the year without being affected by seasonal and resource fluctuations. After the project is put into operation, it will not only ensure the power supply for people's daily lighting, household appliance use and domestic water intake, but also provide stable energy support for factory production and industrial upgrading, completely breaking the shackles of power shortage on Myanmar's industrialization and urbanization development, and letting people across the country bid farewell to "power outage anxiety".
