M+M is a movement and/or initiative that seeks to make visible and give respect to children, pre-adolescents and adolescents, as well as all the important issues regarding them, from the fulfillment of their rights and mistreatment to the link with their families, school and other adults.
You don't need to be a minor to be part of this; you simply need to share the same thoughts and defend the same principles. Children, pre-teens, teenagers, and adults over 18 are all welcome. This isn't about minors being able to do whatever they want without limits, or things like leaving the country and drinking alcohol. It's simply about them being respected and valued just as much as adults in their opinions, tastes, needs, and so on. The goal is for minors to be able to express themselves freely, and for their tastes and/or desires not to be repressed without just cause (for example, prohibiting them from going out with friends when they have age-appropriate plans and no important commitments, or not letting them sleep in on days when they don't have curfews). It also aims to ensure that adults aren't seen as the ones who should know and do everything in every situation, and that it's understood that turning 18 doesn't automatically grant you all the experience, and that they also need consideration.
The "M's" are, one for "minors" (representing children, pre-teens and teenagers) and the other for "adults" (representing everyone who is 18 years old or older, adults without experience, with experience and those who are parents), the "+" represents the connection and union, with respect from both sides.
M+A (Minor+Adult, which would be Menor+Mayor in English )
M+M es un movimiento y/o iniciativa que busca visibilizar y dar a respetar a niñxs, preadolescentes y adolescentes, asi como a todas las cuestiones importantes respecto a ellxs, desde el cumplimiento de sus derechos y el maltrato hasta el vinculo con sus familias, escuela y otros adultos.
No es necesario ser menor para ser parte, simplemente compartir el pensamiento y defender los principios. Tanto niños, preadolescentes y adolescentes como mayores de 18 años son validxs. Tampoco se trata de que Ixs menores de edad puedan hacer lo que quieran sin limites, o que puedan hacer cosas como salir del pais y tomar alcohol, solo que sean igual de respetadxs y validadxs que lxs adultxs, en sus opiniones, gustos, necesidades, etc. Se busca que un menor pueda expresarse libremente, que sus gustos y/o deseos no sean reprimidos sin motivo justo (Ejemplo: prohibirle salir con sus amigos cuando tienen planes acordes a su edad y no tienen compromisos importantes que atender o no dejarlos dormir hasta tarde los dias que no tienen que cumplir horarios) Tambien se busca que, los mayores de edad, no sean vistos como los que deben saber y hacer todo en todos los casos, que se entienda que cumplir 18 años no te da toda la experiencia de una y ellos tambien necesitan consideración.
Las "M" son, una por "menores" (representando a niñxs, preadolescentes y adolescentes) y la otra por "mayores" (representando a toda persona que tenga 18 años o mas, adultxs sin experiencia, con experiencia y a aquellxs que son padres), el "+" representa la conexion y union, con respeto de ambas partes.
