When planning story: This is great! I can go far with this.
When writing story: No I can't.
Answer all these questions and you should have a fully-developed character for your audience to connect with. A strong character can carry a weak plot; but a strong plot canât carry weak characters

Character development thing.
Plot points on this chart to represent how important these different aspects of a characterâs life are to them. By doing that you can help determine what type of things your character deems to be most meaningful in their life, especially compared to others aspects.
A brief explanation of each aspect is below in case youâre confused about the meaning of any.
Physical Aspects
Strength: to have physical power and strength
Sex: to have sexual gratification and satisfaction
Possessions: to have objects and tangible things
Health: to have physical health and stability
Appearance: to have a good external appearance
Emotional Aspects
Love: to love and be loved, romantically or otherwise
Appreciation: to be appreciated by others
Attention: to be paid attention to
Security: to feel secure emotionally
Approval: to be approved by others
Social Aspects
Respect: to be respected
Friendship: to have friends
Intimacy: to be intimate with a partner or partners
Belongingness: to feel needed and belonged
Family: to be on good terms with/have a family
Spiritual Aspects
Inner peace: to be content with themselves
Purpose: to feel as though they are fulfilling a purpose
Self-sufficiency: to feel that they are able to provide for themselves
Growth: to feel as though they are growing and changing
Acceptance: to be able to accept themselves without consequence
This is an absolutely amazing exercise and I certainly recommend doing it.Â
I should probably get this blog up and running again considering Camp Nano is right around the corner!

NEVER use two scenes to establish the same thing. We do not, under any circumstances, want a series of scenes in which the hero goes to job interviews but fails to get the job, or a series of unsuccessful dates to illustrate bad luck in love. This works in the movies, where three scenes can pass in thirty seconds, but not in a novel. Unless a new character or plot element is introduced, once is enough.

NanoWriMo 30 Day Challenge: Days 1-3
Day 1 - Have you participated in NaNoWriMo before? Â If so, which years and what end result? Â If not (or even if so, for that matter), whatâs your connection to writing? Â Why do you want to participate this year?
This is the first November nano I done (well...attempted). I participated in this year June for Camp Nano and only ended up with 7k total. Whoops! I want to participate this year because I need to get in the habit of writing everyday. So far not off to a promising start.
Day 2 - Whatâs the title of your story? Why did you choose the name you did?
The working title of my story is "Vilmaris". It is one of the major cities in my world, Aliis Mundi and it seemed like a good choice for the time being. There is a good chance it will change though.
Day 3 - Pick one of your female characters. Introduce your readers to her, from her point of view and her words only.
Dearest Reader,
I have been instructed to introduce myself. My name, bestowed to me by my uncle, King, ruler of the Red Lands is Jo'na. In the Old Tongue it roughly translates into something silly like 'blessing' or 'gift'. Such old notions. My name is not a common one, as sentimentality is rare in the Red Lands. I am unaware if you are familiar with Red Lander culture, but we are not a blessed people. We ask for nothing. We work for everything.
Prince Davu, King's favoured brother and my father left me in Sonticus in the care of the Emperor. Old Red Lander traditions dictate a gift of gratitude in politics in the form of a treasured child. In the Sonti- Red Lander Treaty I was that child. That was the last time I saw my father. He brought me to Sonticus on his brother's behalf. Mere hours after the treaty was signed the guards found his body. That was over seven summers ago.
I write to you from my quarters in the South Tower of Sonticus. I reside here with the...esteemed Emperor Klaud and his two nephews. Joss, the younger of the boys is kind and a master Mabo player. I have yet to leave a game victorious. I will not speak of the other. To my delight, the Emperor and his nephews have been touring the Ring Road for the past two night-suns or so. Here and in the North I am told it is called the moon but I refuse to use the term. Stubbornness is in my dark Red Lander blood. Joss told me once the Northern folk even believe the moon is a goddess to be worshiped. They must be very simple people.
We Red Landers know that we control our own fate. Those who think otherwise are too lazy and light blooded to be anything other than what they're born into. This is why one day all of Aliis Mundi will be the Red Lands. We will take what is ours and the light blooded will let us.
Alas, my moments of peace are over. I hear the Emperor's carriage from the courtyard below my window.
Sincerely,
Jo'na,
Princess.
Ward.
Red Lander.

I donât normally advocate overly focusing on a title of projects before you begin (just look at the âmy writingâ section, haha), but I know it helps give some people inspiration. This is a cute little tool thatâs good for generating random titles, which may just very well inspire you :)Â
I got the following:
Dying Scent
The Sleeping Sword
Lord of Consort
The Womanâs Light
The Twins of the Wings
Sorcerer in the Shards
Have fun :)
