One of the most rational decision that you can do to yourself is to strive towards a continuous self-development. Every person is made uniquely by God. As we grow older, though we live in the same environment and breathe the same air as others, each encounter and experience that we have affects us differently. Some situations may be a blessing for us but a nightmare for others. We may consider some as acquaintances, others not quite. We may have experiences that affect us stronger than the others. Itâs just how things are.
When I was a toddler, I was very curious about my environment without realizing that I started to mimic the behaviors I observed. I can remember back then; it was my friendâs birthday and when she blew her candle, I even wanted to try it. I also had this experience when I saw my sisters singing on karaoke and the next day, I started to mumble words like I was singing. At that age, I still donât understand things but out of curiosity, I was able to learn new things which helped me grow my knowledge. When I had the time to play dollhouse with my friends, I pretend to be a mother or a doctor. I cooked using leaves, dress up the barbie, had fake surgeries, and even make a cup of tea where my creativity and imagination developed. It was very helpful because it happened that it can be applied in reality. As time goes by, I slowly realized my role in society; a daughter, sister, friend, and citizen to my country. I become more aware of my actions, I already recognized the difference between bad and good, and learn why things are like this and that. Before, I thought saying "po" and "opo" to elders doesnât make any sense but when my parents told me that it is an act of courtesy, there I understood that itâs a social widespread value.
