Last book you read: I think technically the last book I actually read, cover to cover, was Wife Shaped Bodies? Which I Wanted to love but was kind of disappointing, it almost worked. Its short though and if you want to read a gender dystopia novella theres worse ones to read.
A book I:d recommend: How Far the Light Reaches, its a collection of personal essays relating the authors experience to marine life, multiple of the essays made me cry.
A book I couldnt put down: Tickled that Shep tagged me in this and gave Yesteryear for this question, because it is also my answer. Meant to spread it out over multiple days, marathond it in one day instead.
A book ive read twice or more: I actually cant think of a book that Ive read multiple times as an adult, I did however initially read Scott Westerfelds Midnighters book 1 as a tween and then re read it as a college student. It held up! I think that series is vastly underrated. For context, Scott Westerfeld is the guy who did the Uglies series, but prior to Uglies he did a sci-horror YA trilogy in what Id call like, silver age of YA? Do you call it the silver age if it came before? It was pre the Twilight AND Hunger Games booms.
A book on my tbr: Next week Im travelling and will be reading Like, Follow, Subscribe, a new nonfiction about influencer families.
A book Ive put down: I am DETERMINED to finish The Dawn of Everything, David Graeber:s posthumous book, but it is a TOME and the furthest I have made it on my 3 attempts to read it is like page 50.
A book on my wish list: We Deserve This by Victoria Scott, a photo book about trans women and their sick wheels
A favorite book from childhood: Bit cliche but Matilda by Roald Dahl, my lonely bullied child self wanted to be vindicated so bad and Matilda is kind of a power fantasy for bra iny, hurting kids like that.
A book of poetry or lyrics: This Year by John Darnielle, the Mountain Goats book of years that has accompanied song lyrics for each day of the year.
A book Id give a friend: Dykette, by Jenny Fran Davis, dishy soapy lesbian screwball comedy about the worst people you met at liberal arts college.
A nonfiction book I own: I have an even worse habit of buying nonfiction books and not reading them than with fiction books because I feel that its more likely you will end up missing your chance to get your hands on a nonfiction book or itll go out of print. Some recent ones Im excited about

What Im currently reading; Make Me Better by Sarah Gailey. So incredibly excited about this one, and I also have to finish it on a deadline. Its about wellness and high control groups by the person who wrote The Thing, But Make It Horny and Transgender and In the Desert. I should read a bit before going to bed tonight. Oh, and it is inspired by the disaster that inspired one of my favorite Well There:s Your Problem episodes, so truly designed in a lab for Madison.
