Sungki had been coming off his shift and heading home after a long long day at the station. it honestly felt like two days of no sleep, but it was more like twelve hours. ah, he supposed that was what he had signed up for. of course, the moment, he opened his apartment door, a black furball ran past his legs like a lightening bolt. “aigoooo, should have named you flash, ace,” he muttered to himself as he took off after the run away kitten. the tiny black furball dodged his attempts to grab him and then managed to disappear over the upcoming stone wall. sungki sighed a bit and straightened his jacket and hair. the trouble he went to to get his precious baby boy back home and sleeping on his bed.
he took a deep breath and slowly approached the gate to the garden over which stone wall his precious baby had vanished. he knocked on the door and waited patiently, listening to the rapid footsteps and then the door opened slightly and he saw a young woman there. he offered her a polite smile, something that he had perfected while on the job. As she asked if she could help him with something, sungki nodded. “i was hoping you might. You see, my kitten made a mad dash outside as soon as i opened the door to my apartment and i chased the speedy furball all the way here, where i saw him jump over your fence and then vanish!” he explained his situation taking on the professional voice that he often used when he was out questioning witnesses. “i was hoping you may have seen him or in the very least, point me in the direction where i may find the black puddle of goo,” he said, laughing a bit at his own comment.
Looking around to make sure it was only him, that he wasn’t lying. He seemed like a cop they way he questioned her. Taking a deep breath and swallowing she nodded. “Ah...the little black kitten? It’s asleep in the flowers with Sunflower” She quickly added. “That’s my cat, Sunflower, the little one usually come over and sleep for an hour. Come in and have some tea. I’d prefer we not wake them, you’re small one will be up soon and you can take it home.”
Opening the gate she motioned him in and closed the door behind him locking it out of habit. Turning she motioned him to follow and pointed to the two peacefully sleeping cats curled up together in the sun. Putting a finger to her lips she lead him to a small table, one that her mother and she often sat in to have tea when the weather was nice. Walking to the wall next to the house she turned on the heated water and grabbed 2 tea cups. “Um....what kind of tea would you like sir?’ She said turning back to him. Her face was red and heart pounding in her ears. This would have been usually what her mom would do. She may have been protective of Iseul, however she was always kind to strangers. “I have...mint, green tea, black tea, chai and rose.” She played with her hands to try and calm down her beating heart.
