Baffling to me how older Asian-Americans and just a lot of us in general refuse to take any responsibility for holding up white supremacy by purposefully perpetuating the model minority myth to be "more successful" meanwhile other minority communities are suffering more and more as a direct result of that. Sixsevenuinely the ThinkFast breakup may have been because they tried to go back to normal after David was back from being dead but then David could kind of tell that Tommy felt some amount of guilt about what happened to him... and then David essentially just Could Not with that because he kept being reminded of another Situation. Especially cus this was the second time David had died while dating Tommy, and the first time they kind of didn't talk much about it but then this time it was an even bigger thing and they still probably were having trouble talking about it only with even more pressure surrounding that. Then whether after that was a slower decline or an abrupt thing up to you but! Yeah 😁
I see it as either a) they both knew they HAD to talk about it if they wanted things to keep going, but both of them kept waiting for the other one to make the first move as happened probably lots of times in their relationship and things deteriorated until they had to cut it off (likely) or b) one of them tried to talk to the other about it but the other just could not have that conversation and then shit got real bad (less likely imo but more dramatic) or c) a mix of the two where one of them kept trying to bring it up and the other kept dodging until one or both of them just gave up
I don't think it's the second or third one cus like David can have difficult conversations when he has to, he did eventually figure stuff out with Nori originally (even if it took her almost dying in his eyes) so I think if Tommy actually brought it up in an unavoidable situation then he would engage with the conversation but hmmm actually. Maybe he did engage just kind of badly maybe he just sucked at it idk.

Gillen genuinely nerfed this book so bad by not giving Matt more to do, I think he is by far the most interesting character (which seems to be the common consensus online too) and Gillen clearly had strong ideas for him that he for some reason didn't give more than a few issues to develop??? Such a baffling decision truly

I disagree with the book losing itself towards the middle, unless the middle means volume 2 and early volume 3. Mid/late volume 3 was some of my favorite stuff besides like one issue I did not care for. But maybe that's because that's around the time I started to actually be interested in Ash
