Fixing the rats is very important to prevent this cycle of over-breeding from continuing, as it is the reason they are in such a shitty situation to begin with. I, along with countless veterinarians, animal activists and many others believe that the fixing of animals is the best way to eliminate the strain put on rescue centers across the country.

I would like to also remind fellow rat-owners/pocket pet owners that spaying and neutering your animals can also help with behavioral issues and prevent future health problems, like mammary tumors in female rats.
