Taking Stock – October 2017

What a month!  October has been a good month.  Seems life takes interesting turns at times.   A turn we didn’t expect we would have to deal with this month, was that our hot water system decided to die, and had to be replaced.    I was thankful it didn’t happen mid shower!   It is now done, and it is nice to be on the other side of the issue.

So here we are again,  at the end of another month.  …

Last Sunday morning at church, we dropped our two younger kids in at kids church and grabbed our seats.   The music was playing and as I looked around the room my eyes landed on the elderly couple in the seats in front of us to the right.   I found myself watching them.  I couldn’t help watch the way the gentleman held his arm around his wife, how he supported her while standing and worshipping…

Making :   I don’t have time to make anything, but our youngest daughter is continually surprising us with her creative abilities.  Our middle daughter loves to bake so there is often a sweet smell coming from our kitchen, Our eldest is going from strength with her love of learning the guitar. Our awesome boy loves to bash nails into timber, and make a bit of a mess!

I’m not quite ready to say good bye to August, but that seems to be out of my control.   I will say though that I am pretty thrilled with the idea that as I publish this post, it will only be a few hours till we can say hello to Spring.   Spring is absolutely my favourite season of the year, and I am not exactly sure how to hide my enthusiasm.

June has been a massive month for our family.  I wish I could say it was a good month, but it really has been a hard month overall.   We got through, survived reporting, a death, funeral, and now, thank God, we are on school holidays.  All I can say is that I am so glad to be on school holidays.

Happy Mother’s Day

Its Mother’s Day on Sunday!

Many mums look at their lives and analyse how they’re doing in their role as a mother.

Some days I feel great about motherhood.  Other days I thank Godwe all survived the day!  Most days I move through the day feeling cool and calm like ‘Mary Poppins’, other days when I feel overwhelmed and out of sorts I feel a little like ‘Bruce Banner’ on a stressful day.  Thank God…

Another Month has come and gone!  We are travelling through 2017 far too quickly!   As much as I would love time to stand still for a moment – it can’t, and it never will.   We have to work out how to adapt and work with time!   Make time work for us instead – if you figure out how to do this, please let me know.  :)

The Gallery of Modern Art Brisbane

Over the Easter school holidays we took the kids down to Brisbane and visited the Gallery of Modern Art.   We really loved our little adventure and wished we got down to Brisbane sooner, as there was so much to see.  I think we only just touched the surface.  There really is something for everyone.   No one will walk away disappointed.  The effort to drive down to Brisbane was so worth it!  We…

What happened to March?   Life is going far too quickly, and while I do feel we are achieving some of our goals there are a number of things we haven’t yet started.  We have just finished our first school term for 2017, and I must say that I am thrilled to now be on school holidays.   We have worked hard and now we are rewarded with time off!

Just a Little Hygge

Usually the start of Autumn brings that ‘sad, blah, it’s the end of Summer yuck feeling’ in the pit off my tummy, however, after an insanely intense hot summer, I don’t actually feel that sad about the new change of  season. In fact, I welcome Autumn.  At this moment,  I am looking forward to some cooler weather.  My only issue with Autumn come winter are the shorter days.

What an awesome month!

We may have had many over the top hot days, but I must say that I have really enjoyed this month. January was all about getting organised for 2017, so I decided the start of February was the perfect time to action my massive list of goals for the new year. By doing so, I feel as though I tricked myself into avoiding ‘I have already failed my new year goals’ thinking.
