"Rafayeeel...!" The doors to the living room open, your lover's favorite yellow cardigan wrapped around your shoulders as you waltz in.
His face lights up immediately. "My peaaarl!" He mimics the sweet way you call out for him, pulling you to his lap. "What's wrong, cutie?" He kisses the top of your head, adjusting when you snuggle closer.
You smile at his tone, loving the way he's always playing along with your theatrics. "I miss you," you sigh against his chest, as dramatic and whiny as you could. "What's keeping my husband away from me? I'm getting sooo lonely..."
"Lonely?!" He gasps, just as dramatic, and you stifle a giggle at his performance. "Did I let my work get between me and my beloved?"
You nod solemnly, sniffling for added effect. "It's been hours since we've cuddled... and it's so, so cold..."
"Unacceptable!" He smothers you with kisses, from your forehead to your cheeks, earning a muffled laugh from you. "Thomas, move our meeting to next week."
"Oh, my sweet fis- Thomas?" You look to your left in horror, and indeed Thomas was there, looking like he just aged 5 years from... whatever that was. You scramble off Rafayel's lap, ignoring his complaints, and rush to make yourself look more presentable. "Thomas! I didn't know you were- that was- we were just being stupid!"
You smack Rafayel's arm to shut him up, embarrassed beyond belief. "Ow, cutie!"
"It's fine," Thomas holds his hand up, already packing his things to book it out of there. He's seen enough. "Rafayel's been zoning out already anyway." He gives Rafayel one last exasperated look and reminds him of his commissions, before turning to you. "Newly weds, I get it. Enjoy it."
He's out in record time. Once the doors close, you give Rafayel's arm another good, hard slap.
"Cutie, stoppp! What did I do?"
"You could've warned me that you're in a meeting!"
He rolls his eyes, pulling you back on his lap. "It's just Thomas." Whatever your reply was gets drowned by another round of kisses. "Now, let me be a good husband and give you your long-overdue cuddles, yeah?"
