I’ve been writing agere fics for a few years for a few different fandoms but I’m currently very into heated rivalry (please ramble to me omg).

Omgggg thank you for reminding me of this concept anon, little!ilya trying to settle Shane for a nap 🥺 <3 Giggling so much at the idea of Ilya turning all of Shane’s assurances about Ilya using the pacifier the first few times back onto him, he’s like ‘is okay, papa. Is not embarassing, it will help you sleep. Look, it has dinosaurs on it, see?’ Then, in a perfect imitation of what Shane says to him about trying new little things, Ilya’s like, ‘how about you try it and if you don’t like it you can stop, okay Papa?’ ☺️

Meanwhile Shane is gazing down at the used pacifier Ilya is holding in his face and he’s torn because ohmygod Ilya parroting him is so sweet but also he is not putting this pacifier into his mouth. Once he manages to talk his way out of it exactly like u described, Ilya is still pouting slightly and looking for ways to get Shane tired enough for a nap.

he is so scandalized by anyone trying to give him medicine. ilya walks in and asks how he's feeling and he's like "LOOK WHAT (insert name of his little specialist here) ALLOWED THEM TO DO TO ME" and holds up his iv. ilya is trying to balance being like yes baby is terrible and being like i know malysh but you need it for ouchies. though once shane realizes he feels better he is like wait what is happening here...i think he kinda panics without ilya being there to talk him through it all. as good as the staff are with littles, its never the same as his papa

as someone who spends too much time doing medical shit/dealing with chronic illness symptoms this is my faveeeeeeee projection hehe

So fair that is a fave projection, I imagine dealing with medical stuff all the time would get really exhausting! >.<

Ilya balancing being like ‘omg how terrible what have they done to u!’ and also like ‘but u need it bby :(‘ absolutelyyyy omg. While big Shane can grit his way through all the medical stuff that inevitably comes with playing hockey bc he has been doing that since forever, little Shane absolutely hates all the lights and needles and prodding and strangers so bad, like why can Papa not just pick him up out of the bed and take him away from there rn??? >:(

Part 4 of Misc’s Shane Bear Universe

Summary for the fic:

“So…what was in the bag?” Shane asks, predictably, the moment the front door closes behind Svetlana.

Ilya huffs. “Nothing. Just air. She was being funny. Was a very good joke,” he says.

“Whatever it is, you’re embarrassed about it,” Shane points out.

“I am not embarrassed!” Ilya splutters. “Was just stupid.”

“So it was something,” Shane says, eyebrows raising.

In which Shane finally meets Svetlana, Ilya finally talks to Svetlana about feeling small sometimes, and Ilya finally realises just how much small time means to Shane.

(And, thanks to Svetlana, the Shane bear collection grows).

Poor baby would have been confused and scared out of his mind. Possibly the first time the centaurs see him regressed too? When they finally land and have a minute to collect themselves and then realize they’ve got a petrified little on their hands who drops why younger than anyone expected.

The angst potential. I could cry.

Also can’t imagine this scenario from a caregivers perspective, like shane would quite literally be sick. Maybe one of the texts give away that he’s at least on the cusp on being little. A papa thrown in there somewhere. Oh my gosh, shane and ilya get behind me 😭

Now that I have actually read the scene with the evil plane ride from hell, agere Ilya + the plane crash is such a sensitive subject for me like I will cry rn 🥺😞😭

FIGHTING TO STAY BIG SO HE CAN MESSAGE SHANE 😭 THE CENS REALISING HOW YOUNG HE DROPS 😭 A ‘PAPA’ SLIPPING INTO HIS MESSAGES 😭 Oh my god…poor baby…

In that situation it would be such a brutal drop too, like straight down to the younger end of his headspace (which is already baby headspace), just completely having no concept of what’s happening and why the plane is shaking so violently and why all his teammates are screaming and why Papa isn’t there to hold him.

And then when they finally land and the cens manage to get him off the plane and to the hotel, SHANE STILL ISN’T THERE AND HE CAN’T BE THERE And he doesn’t even have anyone who’s looked after him before who he fully trusts while small oh my god I’m gonna throw up…and then he can’t even message Shane back to let him know he’s okay bc he’s too baby, so Shane is just left with those petrified messages from a half-dropped Ilya begging for his Papa to be there.

I haven’t touched on it a whole heap in my au yet but I do find the idea of caregivers also having like an almost ‘drop’ in really high stress situations interesting…Like in that situation when Shane sees those messages and hears the news about the plane, his instincts would be going absolutely crazy. Like he is borderline unresponsive, cannot hear what anyone is saying to him, can only think about Ilya and getting to Ilya and thinking about Ilya being dropped on that plane and being dropped now and Shane can’t even contact anyone on the team who would be caring for Ilya bc it would reveal their relationship

I'm just imaging his videos to be like this:

Baby Ilya: *playing with a stuffed animal* "N my Shane so pretty! I love my Shane"

Svetlana: "Awww, what do you love about Shane?"

Baby Ilya: *Cutest little pout ever* NO! My Shane, mine!

Svetlana: "Oh yes, I'm sorry. YOUR Shane, what do you love about your Shane?"

Baby Ilya: *squeals and starts babbling about how his Shane is so pretty and nice and funny and he so pretty while Svetlana is cooing in the background*

After Ilya meets Rose and gets allll of the videos of little Shane, Shane turns the whole ‘oh he talks about you while little’ on Ilya and goes to Sveta ‘Oh yeah, Ilya talks about you a lot while he’s small ☺️’ And Ilya is like WOW. Wow, nice weather today guys. Very nice weather. Wow. Svetlana ignores all this and is like to Shane ‘No wait he talks about YOU all the time while he’s little???’

Shane is so mild and casual about this, glancing over at Ilya while he’s like. ‘Oh really? Do you have any videos? ☺️’

“do you not like it, Buddy? What’s going on, hey?” cue a panic attack from little kip

OUGHHHH KIP 🥺❤️ He has like vague inklings of what’s happening bc of all the time Scott has been pouring into it, but when he finally actually sees it he is just so overwhelmed bc he’s never had a dedicated little room and everything inside it is clearly so thought out he almost can’t even look at it bc he’s so panicked. And scott gets so worried at first like oh my god do you not like it??
