Spring is coming symbolically with one of the most beautiful local customs (to be sure, Bulgarians have the same custom). Mărțișor is an old tradition celebrated all over Romania every year, on March 1st. The name Mărțișor is a diminutive of March (Martie in Romanian). On this day, Romanians buy silky red-white threads (șnur) tied into a bow to which a small trinket (or, as in this picture, Spring flowers) is attached and offer them to their (female) family members, friends and colleagues to show friendship, respect or admiration. It is believed that the person who wears the red and white string would enjoy a prosperous and healthy year. In eastern Romania ( Moldavia and Bukovina), the red and white string was complemented with a small - gold or silver - coin. After wearing the coin for twelve days, the women would buy fresh cheese with it, hoping that their skin would be healthy and beautiful the entire year. Much like in Bulgaria, the custom is clearly very old, pre-Christian and linked to fertility cults. Mărțișor trinkets initially consisted of small river pebbles, colored in white and red, stringed on a thread and worn around the neck. They were worn, to bring good luck and good weather, from March 1 until the first trees would bloom. When the first trees were flowering the Mărțișor were hanged on tree branches.

Can we take a second to discuss this? I come from a family of mechanics and I gotta ask, how do they use these things without dying????? 1. Thin bicycle wheels are super unstable *and* easy to destroy on a pothole. 2. Giant freaking v12 engine is WAY too much power compared to the vehicle size and assumed weight. (How does the drive train not snap under this much power it looks like it’s made of twigs!) 3. High back center of gravity, with any real acceleration or going over any bumps would cause it to wheelie like crazy (they need wheelie bars oml). 4. Wheels up front closer together than the wheels in the back which makes turning unstable and difficult. (And are those like a shopping cart style wheel mounts???? So no bro that’s so sketch they either don’t turn or break off even if the whole arm moves that’s so sketchy.) And quite a few other things honestly. All this combined make it, at any amount of speed or acceleration, wobbly, drifty, it has tons of drag, super unstable, wheelie roll-over monster machines. The only time you could drive it fast-ish at all is if you were going straight on a well-kept flat grippy road with no winds in the area. It’s so sketchy bruh at least put super thick drag-strip tires on them. They look amazing but they would kill *everyone*. Honestly mad props to Kim for being able to control these things that’s absolutely insane. Literally more dangerous than motorcycles I stg and this man decides he loves one with even more power than normal?! Bro how.
